It is with great sadness that the family of the late Janet Searl announce her
passing on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at the Dr. Charles LeGrow Hospital in Port
aux Basques, NL. Janet was predeceased by Sarah and James LeRiche (Mom and
Pop); son, John Peter Searl; brother, Benjamin LeRiche and loving partner,
Ralph Bennett. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories sons, Michael
(Michelle) and Joseph (Nancy) Searl of Ontario; three granddaughters, Sally,
Shawna and Lacey Searl, Ontario; sister-in-law, Kathleen (late Benjamin) LeRiche,
Port aux Basques; niece Donna (Art) Pauls, Corner Brook; nephews, Leonard (Sharon)
St. John’s, Derek (Georgie) Port aux Basques and Alex LeRiche, Port aux
Basques. Janet will also be sadly missed by mother, Regis Battiste, Port aux
Basques; brothers, Willard (Elaine), David, Garry (Bertha) Battiste, Port aux
Basques; sisters, Ellen (John) Devine, Ontario, Arthena (Jim) Osmond, Port
aux Basques, Sandra (Bryan) Campbell, Searston, Linda Battiste (Dave) Stephenville,
Bonnie (Ernest) Hardy, Isle aux Morts, Carolann (Dave) Didsbury, New Brunswick,
Wanda (Barry) Smith, Gander, as well as many more aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces,
nephews and a large circle of friends. Following her cremation, a memorial
service was held on Sunday, June 4, 2006 at the East Haven Funeral Home officiated
by Reverend Hugh Fudge. Interment of her ashes followed at the Anglican Church
Cemetery in Port aux Basques. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the
Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center on Friday,
June 2, 2006 Stella Mae Keeping of Burnt Islands at the age of 87 years. Born
in Burnt Islands she was the daughter of the late William and Isabelle Munden.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred Keeping in 1986; grandsons, Clifford
and Alvin; brothers, John Munden, William Munden, Ken Munden, Fredrick Munden,
Tom Munden and George Robert Munden; sister, Ida Rose Munden; brothers-in-law,
Wendell Keeping and James Keeping; and sisters-in-law, Ellen Keeping, Leah Munden,
Margaret Munden, Olive Munden, Hazel Munden and Harriet Keeping. She leaves to
mourn with fond and loving memories her children, Willoughby (Selina) Keeping
of Halifax, NS, Elizabeth (George) Barrett of Bishop’s Cove, NL, Clifford
(Betty) Keeping, Fred (Ada) Keeping, Wilfred Jr. (Carol) Keeping, Carl (Barbara)

Passed away peacefully at Sir Thomas Roddick in Stephenville on Wednesday,
June 7, 2006 Wilson John Hynes at the age of 57 years. He was the son of the
late Wilson John Hynes and Dolores Pearl Legge (nee Pike). He was predeceased
by his brothers, Edward, Wade, Elvis; and sister, Brenda; father-in-law, William
Bobbett; and brother-in-law, Lewis Battiste. He leaves to mourn with fond and
loving memories his wife, Audrey (nee Bobbett) of 38 years marriage; his daughters,
Bernadine (Sheldon) Osmond Port aux Basques, Tammy (Jamie) Compton of Laurenceton,
NL; son, Jamie Hynes of Fort McMurray, Alberta; seven grandchildren, Wilson,

RYAN, Michael (Mickey) Martin
1939 - 2006
Passed away at his residence on Thursday, June 8, 2006 Michael Martin
Ryan of O’Regan’s at the age of 67 years. Michael was born on May 20,
1939 to the late Edward J. and Mary Ryan. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces
at a very young age in 1956 and was stationed in Germany. In his later years
he moved on to work with Syncrude of Canada in Fort McMurray Alberta, until
his retirement on December 31, 1994. He was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah
Ann on December 16, 1963, grandson, Logan Michael Ryan on November 23, 1996,
sisters Bernice Ryan on January 1, 1945 and Caroline Ryan on November 19, 1998.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his devoted wife Cecilia of
43 years marriage; his children, Timothy of O’Regan’s; Thomas (Judy)
of Calgary, Alberta; Wanda (Christopher) Leinweber of Calgary, Alberta; Michelle
(Mark) Cochrane of Alberta and Kathleen of Calgary, Alberta; grandchildren,

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Friday,
June 9, 2006 Lily Lovetta Fudge of Rose Blanche at the age of 82 years. Born
in Belleoram, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Blanche Bond.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Fudge in 1977; and also by her brother,
Reginald Bond and his wife, Hilda. After moving to Rose Blanche, Lily and her
husband raised their family and she was also very devoted to her job as Town
Clerk. Her warm smile and sense of humor made everyone around her feel very
special and for this she will surely be missed. She leaves to mourn with many
fond and loving memories grandson, John (Alicia) Fudge who was the love of
her life; children, Ian (Jane) Fudge, Corner Brook, William (Geraldine) Fudge,

country in the Royal Navy. He served as an active member of the local branch
of the Royal Canadian Legion for many years in which time he spearheaded many
projects. His fondest being the Poppy Campaign and the Legion Memorial Park,
in which he took great pride. His involvement in the community will surely
be missed by everyone whose lives have been touched by his great work.

Hospital in his 68th year, Samuel D. Northcott, on June
16th, 2006 after a brief
illness with cancer. Born in Deer Island, NL, he was the son of the late John

Passed suddenly away on Sunday June 18th, 2006, David Gordon
Osmond of Doyles (formerly of Port aux Basques) at the age of 67 years.
Born in Port aux Basques, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Annie (nee
Kettle) Osmond. He was predeceased by his sisters: Alice (Art) MacNeil and Dorothy
(Jerry) Vasquez. Also by his father-in-law Thomas Hilliard. He leaves to mourn

Steven Bryan; brothers-in-law, Bernard Prosser, Frank Pike, Calvin Warren, and
Jason Noseworthy. Visitation took place on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral Services took place on Saturday June
24th, 2006 1 p.m. at St. James' Anglican Church Channel, officiated
by Rev. Hugh Fudge. Interment followed at St. James' Anglican Cemetery, Barachois

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center on Friday
June 23, 2006 William Charles Neil of LaPoile at the age of 90 years. Born at LaPoile
he was the son of the late Edward and Annie (nee Chant) Neil. He was also predeceased
by his four sisters, Harriet Taylor, Margaret Taylor, Clara Francis, and Beatrice
Riles; as well as his nephew, Henry Neil. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving
memories his family: sister, Josephine McDermott of Rose Blanche; niece, Debbie
(Roland) Organ of La Poile and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation took place on Friday from 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home, then
continued on Saturday from St. Thomas United Church in LaPoile. Funeral services
took place on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas United Church
in LaPoile, officiated by Rev. Patricia Ritchie. Interment followed at the church
cemetery. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux

ROBBINS, Mary Lillian (nee Riles)
December 23, 1944 - June 23, 2006
41 Elizabeth Street, Deer Lake, NL
Mary Lillian Robbins (nee Riles), 1944-2006, passed peacefully away at Western
Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL Friday, June 23, 2006 after a
five-year fight with cancer. Mary dealt with her illness with great courage and
optimism, always concerned with her family and others, never concerned with herself.
Everybody's problem was more concern than hers. Mary will be sadly missed by
her friends, her family and by so many who knew her. Mary was predeceased by
her grandson, Liam (2003); brother, Alex (1973); and her parents, Emily (1978)
and Edward (1979). Left to mourn, her husband of 43 years, Clarence of Deer Lake;
sons, John (Vanessa) of Saskatoon, SK and Carl (Nancy) of Clarenville, NL; her
sisters, Annie (Cecil Stone) of Rose Blanche, Katie (George King) of Geary, NB,
Mildred (Max Seaward) of Greens Harbour, NL, Julie (Ron Slade) of Glenwood, NL;
her brothers, Gilbert (Amy) of Port aux Basques, and Henry (Yvonne) of Burnt
Islands; her cherished grandchildren, Kianna, Will and Ethan, as well as a large
circle of relatives and close friends. Cremation took place on Saturday, June
24, 2006. A memorial service was held at St. Paul's United Church in Deer Lake
on Monday, June 26, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Tony Newell officiating. Donations
to St. Paul's United Church Accessibility Church Fund would be gratefully appreciated.
The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parsons Funeral Home, 63
North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL.

Passed away at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center on Friday
June 23, 2006, Murdock AuCoin of O'Regans at the age of 83 years. Born at Coal Brook, he was
the son of the late Julie and Narcis AuCoin. Murdock leaves to mourn his loving
family: wife, Lucy of 47 years of marriage; and children, Wade (Lisa) of Edmonton,
AB, Grace (Stewart) of Searston, Kirk (Colleen) of Woodville, Faye (Dwayne) of
Searston, Marlene (Greg) of Halifax, NS and Peter Rossiter of Edmonton, AB; grandchildren,
Shannon (Rick), Jeremy, Bradley, Brandon, Jamie (Deanne), Joshua, Jonathon, Roberta,
Desiree, Donovan, Jasmine, James, Damien; and great-grandson, Carter; son-in-law,
Larry Colbourne of Codroy Valley; brothers and sisters, Anthony (Eileen) AuCoin,
Margaret (Frank) St. Croix, Marie (Brian) Peat of Coal Brook, Sally (Norman)
Barkhouse, Josephine (Johnny) Faris of Sheet Harbour, NS; sisters-in-law, Margaret
AuCoin of Coal Brook, and Barbara AuCoin of Halifax, NS and a large circle of
nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; infant children,
David, Mary, John and Shawn; sisters and brothers, Helen (Fred) Dickenson, Gertie
AuCoin, Hugh AuCoin, James (Edna) AuCoin, Johnny AuCoin, Arthur AuCoin, Hectar
(Bridget) AuCoin and Raymond AuCoin. Visitation took place at St. Anne's R.C.
Church, Upper Ferry on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Funeral Mass took place at
St. Anne's R.C. Church at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday June 27, 2006 officiated by Father
Lee Lainey. Interment followed at Mt. St. Thomas R.C. Cemetery, Codroy Valley.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Olive O'Quinn announce
her passing on Friday, June 23rd, 2006 at Sir Thomas Roddick
Hospital, Stephenville at the age of 60 years. Leaving to mourn with fond
and loving memories her husband David O'Quinn; children: Mike (Cathy),
Corner Brook, Shane (Carolyn), Stephenville, Linda (Paul)French, St. Davids,
Bruce (Lori), Lumbsdom; father Dorman Goodyear, Bonavista; sisters: Maggie

Lumsdom, Joan (Ralph), Musgrave Harbour and brother Clyde (Evelyn), Wesleyville;
grandchildren: Devin, Ocean, Tyler, Brandon, Paula, Tanner, Devin,Travis,
Keisha, Felisha, Megan and Charolette as well as many nieces, nephews other
relatives and friends. Friends may visit St. Sylvester Roman Catholic Church,
South Branch on Satruday evening 7-9 p.m., Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and
Monday 10 a.m. - 12 Noon from where the funeral service will be held Monday,
June 26th at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Pat Ritchie officiating. Interment to follow
at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre's
Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques.
