August 8, 1927 - January 2, 2008

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Anderson announces his passing on Tuesday, January 2, 2008 at the age of 80 years. Born in Codroy, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Anderson. He is also predeceased by his wife, Doreen; four brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his children, Margaret-Rose (Jerry) White of Kingston, Rose (Richard) Smith of Mississauga, Mike (Hilda) Anderson of Scarborough, Henry (Dianne) Anderson of Scarborough, Gregory (Mondella) Anderson of Scarborough, Yvonne (Jim) Rowlands of Zephyr, Francis (Nancy) Anderson of Bradford, Catherine (Daniel) Paul of New Market and Fred (Ann) Anderson of Ajax; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Alma Gale, Stella Waters, Barbara (Ben) White, Alice (Keith) Simon, Lucine Anderson and Genny Gale; brothers-in-law, Hubert (Kay) Gale, Michael (Nancy) Gale and Alec (Barb) Gale; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Visitation took place Thursday, January 3rd at St. Anne's Church, Upper Ferry. Funeral services took place on Friday, January 4, 2 p.m. at St. Anne's Church, Upper Ferry. Officiated by Father Lee Lainey. Interment followed at Mount St. Thomas Cemetery, Great Codroy. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

ELIZABETH MARY WHITE
Jan. 6, 1908 - Jan. 4, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elizabeth Mary White announce her passing at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009. Born at Tompkins, Nfld., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Olive (nee Doucette) Aucoin. Also predeceased by her husband, Clement; brothers, Charlie, Philip, Berthram, Hector, William, Lawrence and Thomas (BR. Andrew); sisters, Tillie Aucoin, Annie Aucoin and Mary Benoit; brothers-in-law, Archie White and Arnold White; sisters-in-law, Margaret Luedee, Adeline O'Riley and Eva White. Leaving to mourn sisters-in-law, Mary Benoit, Monica Maclsaac and Wilfreda Bungay along with a large circle of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and many friends. Friends visited the Church of the Precious Blood in St. Andrew's on Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Interment followed at St. Andrew's Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy the family accepted flowers or donations to the charity of one's choice. Oct. 17, 1949 - Jan. 6, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Glen Sheaves announces his passing on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009 at the age of 59 years in Bridgewater, N.S. Born in Port aux Basques, Nfld., he was the son of the late Edgar and Pearl Sheaves. He was predeceased by his sister, Florence; brother, Stewart and brother-in-law, Clyde Morris. He leaves to mourn his family: son, Shannon (Elaine, nee Osmond); grandchildren, Mason and Emma; brothers, Don of Ottawa, Ont., Gerald of Hamilton, Ont., Melvin (Shirley) of St. John's, Earl (Linda) of Port aux Basques; sisters, Maisie of Dartmouth, Marilyn (Tom) of Stephenville, Linda (Loyola) of Searston, Laura (Claude) of Dartmouth and a large circle of family and friends. The Sheaves family would like to extend special thanks to Danny Brinsom and family and Eric White and Judy for being there to help Glen when he needed it most. Passed away peacefully at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009 Julia Marks Walters Seymour of Margaree at the age of 96 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband John in 1986, and several others of her family members. She leaves to mourn with wonderful memories her loving children: Aggie (Wesley) Coleman, Naomi Ball, Maude (Eric) Tapp, Vera Bragg, Theresa Lefrense, Susanne (Angus) Macdonald, Garfield (Shirley), Pearl (George) Harvey, John (Judy), Gordon (Maggie), Mildred (John) Carroll, Elsie (Wayne) Billard, 62 grandchildren, 110 great-grandchildren, 52 great-great-grandchildren and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Jan. 8, 9 and 10 at St. Augustine's Anglican Church in Margaree. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques at the age of 92 years. Born at Deer Island, Effie was the daughter of the late John and Mary Northcott. She was predeceased by her husband Sabriel, her sons Cecil (infant) and Richard, brothers Freeman and Samuel, and sisters Faith Caroll and Lillian Rossiter. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her 10 children: Mildred (Herbert) Park, Mary (Alman) Carter, Betty (Frederick) Skinner, Julie (Hartley) Spencer, Lloyd (Gloria) Billard, Margaret (Joseph) Street, Brenda (Wilfred) Luedee, Gloria (Clifford) Coleman, Pauline (James) Baggs and John Billard; two sisters Flora Crewe and Gladys (Walter) Osmond; 31 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws Caroline Warren and Susanna Northcott and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. She was the daughter of the late George and Mariam (nee Callahan) Young. She was predeceased by first husband Fred McWhirter, brothers Valentine (Tim), Jeffery, Nick and Dennis, sister Winnifred Dobbin, brother-in-law Arthur Dobbin and son-in-law Wayne Harvey. She was predeceased by her husband Benjamin Baker, sister Jane (James) Bateman, brother John Ricketts, granddaughter Jody Shannon Lawrence and brother-in-law John Dicks. He leaves to mourn with fond memories his sisters, Margaret Reynolds and Ruth Reid; brothers, Winston Kendell, Lawrence Kendell and son, Jason (Tanya); granddaughter, Lily Anna; grandson, Cory; nieces and nephews; special friends, Mary MacArthur and Russell Kendell as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. At the time of his death, Mr. Kendell was survived by his sister Joyce MacArthur, who passed away on Jan. 16, 2009. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Ada Kendell (Penny); brother, Robert; brothers-in-law, Henry Reid, Ray Reynolds and Neil MacArthur. She was the daughter of the late Frank Kendell and the late Ada Penney. Her brother, Robert and Lewis Kendell predeceased her. She leaves to mourn her children, Lisa MacArthur, Michelle Martin (Carl) and three grandchildren, Joey, Rachel and Heidi; sisters, Ruth Reid, Margaret Reynolds; brothers, Lawrence and Winston Kendell a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. She was a wonderful mother, sister and friend. We will all miss her more than words can say. Funeral service took place on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 1 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, officiated by Rev. 1920-2009

Passed away on Jan. 27, 2009 William Leonard Farrell in his 88 year. Leonard was born and grew up in Port aux Basques and was manager of Shop Rite for many years. He was also a member of the AOTS Club, school board and United Church. He leaves to mourn wife, Edith; daughter, Arline; son, Frank; three grandchildren, Sherry (Rob) Waterdown, ON, Leonard (Brenda) Florida, USA and Christopher (Carrie), Waterdown, ON; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also, three sisters, Nina of Surrey, BC, Bernice of St. Thomas, ON, and Ruby (Harry), of North Sydney; and two brothers, Calvin and Colin of Dartmouth, NS. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Minnie Farrell; sister, Joyce and brother, Lorne. Funeral services were officiated by Mayor's Fred and Shirley Ash of the Salvation Army, Burlington, ON, formerly of Stephenville, NL. Remains interred at Memorial Gardens, Burlington, ON.
