ANDERSON, John W.
November 13, 1921 - February 4, 2011

It is with great sadness that the family of the late John W Anderson announces his passing on Friday February 4, 2011 at Mountain Hope Manor in Port aux Basques at the age of 89 years. Born at Port aux Basques NL, John was the son of the late Howard and Hannah Jane Anderson (nee Matthews). He was also predeceased by his wife Eva in 2004. Brothers Hewitt, Llewelyn, Charles. Sister Ethel Young. Brothers-in-law Matthew Young, James Buffett. Sisters-in-law Irene Anderson, Mary Anderson. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving family Sylvia (Albert) Osmond of Port aux Basques NL, Jane (Gord) Lawrence of Gander NL, James (Diane) Anderson of Port aux Basques NL, Diane Froude of Vancouver BC, Linda (Don) Eustace of Port aux Basques NL; Grandchildren Johnny, Lorne, Jimmy, Eddie, Bob, Darlene, Heather, Ronnie, Philip, Rhoda, Heidi, Trina, Steven, Brian, Jamie, Tanya, Ryan; 31 Great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; Brothers Bert Anderson, Arthur Anderson (Elsie), Gerald Anderson (Kay) all of Port aux Basques, NL; Sister Lillian (Clyde) Cribb of Alberta, Sisters-in-law Eileen Anderson of Port aux Basques, Cherry Buffett of Bay D'espoir NL and a large circle of nieces, nephews, many friends and his family at the manor. Visitation took place on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm from East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. Funeral service took place on Monday, February 7, 2011, 2 PM at St. James Anglican Church , Channel officiated by Rev. Clayton Billiard. Interment followed at St. James Cemetery, Barachois Hill. HILLIARD, Sheila Yevonne
March 8, 1940 - February 8, 2011
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sheila Hilliard announces her passing on Tuesday February 8, 2011 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center, at the age of 70 years. Born at Liverpool NS, Sheila was the daughter of the late Edward and Zhelma Buchanan. She was also predeceased by her husband Emmanuel Hilliard, common law spouse Clifford Hilliard, and her brother Walter Buchanan in 2010. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories, her loving children; Eddie (Ruthie) Hilliard Codroy, Pauline Hilliard Ontario, Deborah Field (Jay), Sandra Downey (Leonard) all of Alberta, David (Heather) Hilliard Ontario, Philip (Cindy) Hilliard Ontario, Ivan (Marsha) Hilliard, Heather Janes (Billy), all of Codroy. She will be greatly missed by her sisters and brothers; Sandra United States, Bernie (Carol) Buchanan, John Eddy (Ann) Buchanan, Georgina MacIntrye (Joey), Wilena Quirk (Bill), Theresa Quirk (Gower) all of Nova Scotia, Ivan (Donna) Buchanan Alberta, Lee (Jane) Buchanan New Brunswick. Loving grandmother of Paul, Nicole, Crystal, Bradley, Travis, Kyle, Victoria, Breanna, Bianca. Wonderful great grandmother of Cassie, Lance, Mikila, she will also be missed by a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends. To honor Sheila's wishes cremation has taken place. The family received friends at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy from 7-9 PM on Friday February 11. A celebration of Sheila's life took place on Saturday February 12, 11 AM at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Peter Boote. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery. KENDELL, Harvey
June 11, 1950 - February 4, 2011
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Harvey Kendell announces his passing on Friday February 4, 2011 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 60 years. Born at Codroy, Harvey was the son of the late Archibald and Gladys Kendell. He was also predeceased by his brother Alfred in September of 2010, and his mother and father in law, Mary and Benjamin Buffett. Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories his loving family; devoted wife Joan Kendell. Daughters; Tanya (Rick) O'Quinn Sackville NS, Raylene Kendell (Brandon) Codroy, stepson Alvin Kendell (Julie) Corner Brook. Grandchildren; Breanna, Drew, Brooklyn. Brother Allan Kendell of Codroy. He will also be sadly missed by his in laws; Elsie (Hugh) Fudge Carbonear, Jim (Christine) Buffett Port aux Basques, Peter (Jessie) Buffett Fortune NL, Joe (Geraldine) Buffett Sackville NS, Wanda (Paul) Foote St. John's NL, Louise Kendall Woodville. Harvey will be especially missed by his dog Sonny whom he was very fond of, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. Visitation took place on Saturday and Sunday at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy. Funeral services took place on Monday February 7, 10 AM at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. KETTLE, Lucy
April 25, 1928 - February 9, 2011
It is great sadness that the family of the late Lucy Kettle announces her passing on Wednesday February 9, 2011 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 82 years. Born at Port au Port, NL Lucy was the daughter of the late Samuel and Sarah Skeard. She was also predeceased by her husband James Kettle in 1985, son Maxwell Kettle in 1985, brother Roy Skeard in 2001, 6 brothers-in-law and 4 sisters-in-law. Leaving to mourn with loving and precious memories children Arthur (Cora) Kettle Port aux Basques, Alice (Norman) Ingram Port aux Basques, Samuel (Lydia) Kettle Port aux Basques, Ivan (Marilyn) Kettle Eastern Passage, NS, Sarah (Wayne) Madill Ottawa, Owen (Linda) Kettle Toronto, Rose Allen Port aux Basques; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; sister Delphine Redepenning, sisters-in-law Jane Kettle, Nellie Kettle and large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation took place on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home. Born at Port aux Basques. Lena was the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Julia Lomond. She was also predeceased by her husband Walter Lomond; baby daughter Loretta, sisters Martha Hickey, Annie Pike; brother George Lomond; brothers-in-law Joseph Hickey, Kevin Pike, William fudge. Leaving to mourn with loving and precious memories son Alec (Sheila) Lomond Dartmouth NS, granddaughters Claudia Port aux Basques NL, Krystal - Lee (Doug) Dartmouth NS, grandson Steven Deer Lake NL, Great-grandchildren Tamika, Jake; brothers William Lomond, Morgan (Mary) Lomond all of Port aux Basques, sisters Irene (Garland) Musseau Port aux Basques, Bessie Fudge North Sydney NS; sister-in-law Bev Lomond Port aux Basques and large circle of extended family, nieces, nephews, and many friends including those at Long Term Care Dr. Charles L Legrow Center. The family received friends at Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle Port aux Basques on Friday and Saturday 2-4PM and 7-9PM. Funeral services took place on Sunday February 28, 2PM at Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle officiated by Pastor Jamie Warren. Interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway. Matthews, Stanley
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stanley G. Matthews announces his passing on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the age of 82 years. He leaves to mourn with fond memories his wife Mildred Matthews, daughters Patty Munden, Darlene Matthews and Son Stanley P. Matthews. He will be greatly missed by his brothers, Don, Ambrose, Rex and sister Harriet Bentley and families. Loving grandfather of Cory Munden, Chris Munden, Adriana Matthews - Rocca. Wonderful great grandfather of Chloe and Sophia, Alex and Jesse. He will be missed by his son-in-law, Rick Munden, 3 brothers-in-law, Cecil, Art, Paul Mullins and sisters-in-law, Bessie Gerrard and Miriam Miclon and families and great friends. To honor Stan's wishes cremation has taken place. The family held a small ceremony at Rick Munden's home on Sunday February 27, 2011

OSMOND, Isaac Alfred
December 18, 1928 - February 20, 2011

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Isaac Alfred Osmond announces his passing on Sunday February 20, 2011 at Legrow Health Center at the age of 82 years. Born at Port aux Basques, Isaac was the son of the late Emmanuel and Gertrude Osmond. He was also predeceased by his father and mother in law Bernall Osmond and Winnifred Wall and sister Lillian Osmond. He leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories his loving family; devoted wife Melinda of 49 years marriage. Daughter Wanda (Craig) King, grandchildren Crystal, Cecilia; great-grand daughter Toni-Lee. Sisters-in-law Elizabeth Pearce, Rita (Alex) Janes, Marie (Gord) McNeil all of Cape Ray, Mildred (Earl) Greene of Gaultois NL. Brothers-in-law Robert (Marjorie) Osmond Cape Ray, Ivan (Dorothy) Wall Port aux Basques, Wallace Wall PEI. Also a very special friend Judy (Paul) Martin and family of Ontario, his close friend and buddy Tony Tulk and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many close friends. Visitation took place on Monday from 7-9 PM, Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home, then continued on Wednesday from St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Cape Ray. Funeral services took place on Thursday February 24, 11 AM at St. John The Evangelist Church in Cape Ray, officiated by Rev. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Pearl Parsons announces her passing on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 84 years. Born at Lolly Cove, Fortune Bay, Pearl was the daughter of the late William and Lucy Drake. She was also predeceased by her brothers Alex and Ben Drake. She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories her family, devoted husband Heber of 64 years marriage. Children; Joyce (George) Seaward Port aux Basques, Melvin (Mary) Parsons St. John's NL, Dean (Nora) Parsons Holyrood NL. Grandchildren Jill (Mark Tucker) Stephenville NL, Jamie (Nadine) Kelligrews NL, Jason (Melinda) Sylvan Lake AB. Great-grandchildren Colton, Dawson, Erin, Alex. He was also predeceased by his brothers Jerry and Theodore, sister Isabella, brothers in law; Gordon Keeping and Hughie Keeping. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving family; devoted wife Bernadine of 30 years, sister Dorothy (Cecil) Parsons Rose Blanche, brother John (Wanda) Thorne Port aux Basques. Sister's in law; Mary Throne St. John's, Susie Thorne, Anderine (Henry) Courtney, Cathy (Cecil) Thorne, Loriann (Eddie) Lawrence, Yvonne Keeping all of Burnt Islands. Brother's in law; Shawn (Gilda) Keeping, Jabez (Meta) Keeping all of Burnt Islands, James Leriche Port aux Basques, mother and father in law, Geraldine and Hughie Keeping Burnt Islands.
