Born in Port aux Basques, NL, he was the son of Matthew and Ruth (Skinner) Street. Ron had a long and distinguished career with the Canadian Navy, beginning in July 1981. He was dedicated to and loved the military and especially the sea, having served on Her Majesty's Canadian Ships: Charlottetown; Iroquois; Athabaskan; Algonquin and Protecteur. He also served onshore at C.F.B. Halifax, C.F.B. Greenwood and C.F.S. Gander. One of the highlights of Ron's career was a six-month tour of duty at C.F.S. Alert, from March - September 2005. An avid outdoorsman, Ron enjoyed four wheeling, moose hunting and fishing. He enjoyed making Christmas crafts and drawing. He was a big fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He loved to go to the rink and watch his sons play hockey in the winter and baseball in summer. Ron is survived by his loving, devoted wife and best friend Michelle (Prince), his sons who were very precious to him, Matthew (Bubs) and Max, and his two beautiful daughters, Melissa (Pete) and Keisha.
