ANDERSON, Susanna
September 9, 1913 - December 25, 2010
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and aunt Susanna Anderson age 97 a resident of Peppett Street, North Sydney and formerly of Port Aux Basques, NL, on Saturday December 25, 2010 at the Northside General Hospital. Born in LaPoile, NL, she was a daughter of the late Morris and Isabella (Neil) Strickland. She was a member of the United Church and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving is her five daughters, Nellie (Arthur) Francis, North Sydney, Dulcie Richards, Kenora, Ont., Elsie Watts, New Waterford, Grace (Roland) Hancock, Corner Brook, NL, Lydia (Samuel) Kettle, Port Aux Basques, NL, also surviving are several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and daughter in law Beryl Anderson. Susanna was predeceased by her husband Thomas Anderson, three sons George, Samuel and Chesley Anderson, one daughter Mary Anderson, grandson Arthur Francis Jr, six brothers William, Matthew, George, John, Thomas and Mercer Strickland, five sisters Emma, Clara, Jennie, Elizabeth and Mary. A private family visitation was held Sunday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Susanna's remains were then transported to Port Aux Basques, NL for visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m, Monday at East Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday December 28, at Wesley United Church, Port Aux Basques, with burial in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in the care of W. J. ANDREWS, Verna Evelyn
1943-2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Verna Evelyn (Figary) Andrews announce her sudden passing on Sunday, December 19th, 2010 at the ICU Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, at the age of 66 years. She was predeceased by her father Percy Figary; sister Marilyn (Wilson) Foote; step-brother Robye (Judy) Figary. Leaving to mourn her husband Frank; son Michael (Karen); daughter Michelle (Aaron) Hayes; mother Dorothy Figary; sister Shirley (Paul) Patey; grandsons: Andrew Hayes and Christopher Hayes, as well as a large circle of cherished family and friends. Friends visited Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques, on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service took place at St. James Anglican Church on Wednesday, December 22nd at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Hannah Dicks officiating. By request, cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium in Pasadena. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted.

BILLARD, Clarence
July 17 1932 - December 9, 2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clarence Billard announces his passing on Thursday December 9, 2010 at Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 74 years. Born at Isle aux Morts NL, Clarence was the son of the late Ambrose Sr. and Julie Ann Billard (nee Scott). He was also predeceased by his wife Bernice in 1994. Brothers Ambrose Billard Jr, Levi Billard. Sister Margaret LeFrense. Brother-in-law Joe Lucas. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving family Children; Terrance (Jocelyn), Johnny both of Corner Brook, Violet (Melvin) Keeping of Burnt Islands; Grandchildren; Vonda (Chris) of Waterdale, ON, Ryan of Corner Brook, Jeremy of Goose Bay NL, Desmond (Lisa) of St. John's NL, Cody of Thorold, ON, Conrad (Tera) of Halifax NS, Kye (Stephanie) of Greenwood NS, Melinda (Travis) of Corner Brook NL, Melissa (Wade) of Stephenville NL; 9 Great-grandchildren; Brothers Winter (Anne) Billard, Lindsey (Bernice) Billard both of Isle aux Morts; Sisters Gladys (Daniel) Lawrence of Isle aux Morts, Harriette (Raymond) Green of Burgeo, Louise Lucas of Stephenville NL, Eileen (Ephraim) Herritt of Isle aux Morts, Marilyn Smith of Halifax and a large circle of Niece, Nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Thursday evening and Friday at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts. Funeral service took place on Saturday December 11, 2PM at Holy Spirit Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Duncan Granter. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Rd. HATCHER, William
April 30, 1935 - December 12, 2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Hatcher announces his sudden passing on Sunday December 12, at his residence in Rose Blanche at the age of 75 years. Born at Rose Blanche, William was the son of the Stanley and Alice Hatcher. He was also predeceased by his sister Maude Stroud, brothers Johnny Hatcher and Jim Hatcher. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories, his loving family; wife Alice Marie Hatcher of 48 years marriage. Devoted father of Diane (David) Herritt Port aux Basques, Robert Hatcher (Pam) Isle aux Morts, Roger Hatcher Moncton NB. Loving grandfather of Denise (John) Herritt Ignace ON, Renee Herritt Halifax NS, Jessica Mauger and Johnathan Mauger of Isle aux Morts. He will also be sadly missed by his sister Rosina Bury Rose Blanche, brother Brian (Joyce) Hatcher Port aux Basques, sister in law Lillian Hatcher St. John's NL, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation took place on Monday evening, Tuesday, and Wednesday at St. Micheal's and All Angel's Anglican Church in Rose Blanche. Funeral services took place on Thursday December 16, 2 PM at St. Micheal's and All Angel's Anglican Church officiated by Rev. Kris Gosse. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Anglican Cemetery, Isle aux Morts road. HILLIARD, Walter
(January 3, 1929 - December 15, 2010)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Walter Hilliard announces his passing on Wednesday December 15, 2010 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 81 years. Born at Codroy. Walter was the son of the late James W. and Harriett (nee Collier) Hilliard. He was also predeceased by his Sisters Annie and Bernice; Brothers Billy, Harold, James and Clifford. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving family; devoted wife Mary Genevieve of 59 years Marriage. Sons William Walter (Diane) of Oddessa, ON, Philip Goward of Kingston, ON, Daniel (Kimberlee) of Whitby, ON, Berry James of Kingston, ON; Daughters Dianne Fiander of Carelton Place, ON, Pennie Elsie Hillard (Jeff Smith) of Sydenham, ON; Grandchildren Joel, Preston, Melissa, Colin, Melissa, Zachary, Jeremy, Taylor, Cody. Great-grandchild Ethan. Brother John Hilliard of Codroy, NL; Sisters Olive Ingram, Doris Anderson, Joan Hilliard (Steve) all of Codroy, NL and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many close friends. INGRAM, Dinah Mae
Port aux Basques, NL
June 6, 1956 - December 22, 2010
It is with great sorrow and loss that the Short and Ingram families announces the loss of Dinah Mae (nee Musseau) Short-Ingram at Dr. Charles LeGrow Hospital in Port aux Basques, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010 at the age of 57 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Alex Short; father Gordon Musseau; grandparents Jim and Mabel Musseau of Port aux Basques and Dinah and John Hayman of Ramea; nephew Jason Ball. She leaves to mourn with precious memories, her husband of five years, Robert Ingram; mother Hilda Musseau of Aylesford, NS; daughters; Karen (Todd) Kettle, Susan Short (Rodney) and Jody (Brad) Leamon; sisters; Mabel Comeau (Keith), Darlene (Vince Gilliam), Elaine (Terry) Saunders; brothers; Don Musseau, Randy (Kendra) Musseau, Chris Musseau; grandchildren; Hillary, Brandon, Courtney and Kelsey, close friend Anne Lawrence, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Family and friends celebrated her life at Fillatre's Funeral Home in Port aux Basques on Sunday, December 26th. The Funeral Service was held at St. James Anglican Church on Monday, December 27th at 2:00 p.m., Reverend Hannah Dicks officiated. Interment followed at Barachois Hill Cemetery. It is with great sadness the family of the late Mary Elizabeth Jeans announces her passing on December 12, 2010 at the LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques at the age of 89 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Gerald (Vera) Jeans, Grand Bay, Joe (Grace) Jeans, Grand Bay, Rose (Ed) Gosse, Corner Brook, Susie (Fred) Thomas, Corner Brook, Bernice (Melvin) Payne, St. John's, Gordon (Cassie) Jeans, Cape Ray, Fred (Ellen) Jeans, Moncton, NB, Alice (Hubert) Leamon, Cape Ray, Jerome (Bev) Jeans, Fort McMurray, Everett Jeans, Port aux Basques, and Todd (Diane) Jeans, BC; 37 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, sisters, Margaret Cornick, Port aux Choix and Christine Wilcox, Bay d'Espoir, and brothers, Lawrence Organ and Jerome Organ, Bay d'Espoir, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was pre-deceased by her husband, James Jeans, sons, Lawrence, Baby David, parents, William and Rosanna Organ, brothers, Tom Organ, and Ralph Organ. Visitation took place from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Port aux Basques, on Monday, 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., from St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Cape Ray on Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. from where the funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. with Rev. KANE, Elizabeth
December 2, 1934 - December 12, 2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elizabeth Kane announces her passing on Sunday December 12, 2010 at Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 76 years. Born at Fox Island NL, Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband James on December 21, 1973; Father Frederick Warren; Granddaughter Olive; Brother Garland Warren; Brothers-in-law Roy Musseau and Frank Porter. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving family; mother Bertha Warren, Sons Chesley (Gertie), Stephen (Linda), James and Dean all of Port aux Basques. Daughters Joanne (Thomas) of Isle aux Morts, Wanda of Halifax and Kathleen (John) of Halifax. Seventeen grandchildren, Thirty-three great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. Sisters Dorothy Musseau and Annie Porter both of Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Monday evening from 7-9 PM and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home. SKEARD, Eileen Vivian
February 2, 1926 - December 1, 2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Eileen Vivian Skeard announces her passing on Monday December 1, 2010 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 84 years. Born at Port aux Basques, NL Eileen was the daughter of the late Herbert and Harriett (nee Currie) White. She was also predeceased by her first husband Samuel Rowe, daughter Sandra, Sisters Jessie Petite, Minnie Matthews. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her husband of 58 years Henry. Children Elizabeth (Graham) Payne, Wally (Sheila) Skeard, Ivy (Melvin) Chaulk, Pat Skeard, Paula (Reg) White all of Port aux Basques. Grandchildren Darren, Craig, Tina, Jodie, Karen, Megan, and Chloe. Great-grandchildren Destiny, Nicholas, Jordan, Cameron, Nathan, Isabella and Bailey. Sister Shirley (Herbert) Brace of New Brunswick, and a Large circle of nieces, nephews and special friends. Visitation took place on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and on Thursday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at East Haven Funeral Home. WALL, Austin William (Bill)
March 22, 1934 - December 31, 2010
St. Andrew's, NL
Passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010, William (Bill) Wall at the age of 76 years. He leaves to mourn with loving precious memories and will be missed by his wife: Doreen; his father; Pat Wall; children: John (Dawn), Mark (Mary), Ronald (Marie), Gerard (Donna), Yvonne (Gerry), Larry (Wendy), Stephen, Barry (Lisa); 12 grandchildren; special family members: Donna Moore and Yvonne Burry; brothers and sisters: Agnes (Thomas), Adina (Bill), George (Lillian), Pat (Marcie), Gilbert, Pauline, Joseph (Rita), Thomas (Geraline), Joyce (Kevin), Ted (Lucy), Dianne (Ed); step-children; Anne Marie (Michael), Richard, Anthony, Bonnie (Garnet), R.J. (Janita), Holly (Vince), as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved first wife and mother of his children, Jean Turner Wall, and his mother, Ita Hoskins Wall. Friends visited The Church of the Precious Blood, St. Andrew's on Monday evening from 7 - 9 p.m., from where Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 4th at 11:00 a.m., Father Edward Terry officiated. The interment will follow at a later date at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Topsail, St. John's. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques.
