CLARKE, ERNEST BERTRAM
MARCH 19, 1932 - DEC. 7, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ernest Bertram Clarke announces his passing on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009 at Western Memorial Hospital at the age of 77 years. Born at Harbour Le Cou, Ernest was the son of the late John and Abigail Clarke. He was predeceased by his son Gary; brothers Russell, Henry, Keltie and twin brother George; sisters Theresa Strickland, Maude Billard and Mamie Doiomount; brothers-in-law Thomas Strickland, Simeon Billard, William Hardy, Clifford Hardy, Reg Heron, Roy Currie, Arthur Doiomount and sister-in-law Edith Clarke. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving family: wife Mary of 53 years marriage; sons Robbie (Angela) and Bradley all of Rose Blanche; grandchildren Jamie, Jeremy, Terry and great-grandson Blake; brother Gerald (Margaret), B.C.; sisters Melita Hardy of Corner Brook, Jane Heron of Rose Blanche; brothers-in-law Jack (Yvonne) Hardy, Port aux Basques, Gerald (Mary) Hardy, Rose Blanche; sisters-in-law Rita Currie of Rose Blanche, Violet (Russell) Clarke, Rose Blanche, Joyce (Fred) Wells of Burgeo, Shirley Hardy, Vera Clarke, Louise Clarke, all of Rose Blanche; mother-in-law Annie Hardy and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends, Visitation took place on Dec. 8 and 9 at St. Michael's And All Angel's Anglican Church in Rose Blanche. Funeral services took place on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2 p.m. at St. Michael's and All Angel's Anglican Church, officiated by Father Andrew Nussey. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300. www.easthavenfuneraihome.com

OSMOND, SANDY AVIS
MAY 14, 1926 - DEC. 9, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sandy Avis Osmond announces his passing on Dec. 9, 2009 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 83 years. Born at Port aux Basques, Sandy was the son of the late Hannah and Rueben Osmond. He was also predeceased by his brothers Garfield, Nathan, Clayton and Cecil; and sisters Rose and Lottie, He leaves to mourn with many precious memories his loving family: wife Mariorie of 59 years marriage; children Deborah (William) Lawrence, Edmonton, Alta., Mary (Ivan) Cole, Port au Port, Nfld., Lloyd (Beverly Kettle), Bradford, Ont.; four grandchildren Brent, Tracy, Craig, Blair; two great-grandchildren Hannah and Nathan; sisters Marie and Myrtle; brother Ambrose; sisters-in-laws Minnie Pineo of New Germany, N.S., Irene (Charlie) Gentmantel of Quebec and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. To honour Sandy's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family memoriaLwas held on Friday, Dec. 11 at East Haven Funeral Home. Interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre Foundation. KEEPING, GORDON KERRY
SEPT. 22, 1962 - DEC. 11, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gordon Kerry Keeping announces his passing on Friday, Dec. 11, at his residence in Burnt Islands at the age of 47 years. Gordon was predeceased by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Meta and James Courtney; his brother Hughie; aunts Juanita Skinner and Bessie Munden; uncles James Keeping, Ralph Keeping, nephew and Godchild Nolan Munden. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his family: devoted wife Yvonne of 22 years marriage; daughter Savannah (Andrew) Keeping of Dartmouth, N.S.; son Corey Keeping, Burnt Islands; parents Geraldine and Hughie Keeping, Burnt Islands; brothers Shawn (Gilda), Jabez (Meta) all of Burnt Islands; sisters Bernadine (Percy) Thorne, Kathy (Cecii) Thorne, Anderine (Henry) Courtney, Lori Ann (Eddie Lawrence) all of Burnt Islands; sisters and brothers-in-law Lavina (Art) Seymour, Marie (Dave) Thorne, Denise (Anthony) Munden, Gideon (Dora) Courtney, Kevin (Wanda) Courtney all of Burnt Islands, Sheila (Eric) Hatcher Isle aux Morts, Margaret (Ronnie) Keeping MacDougall's, Claude (Marlene) Courtney Codroy, John Courtney Ontario, Dion Courtney Halifax, N.S., Kathy Proctor Halifax, N.S., his cat Twinkle, dog Sonny and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Dec. 12 and 13 at St. George's Anglican Church in Burnt Islands. Funera[ services took place on Monday, Dec. 14, 2 p.m. at St. George's Anglican Church, officiated by Father Andrew Nussey. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. HARTNEY, JAMES WlLLIAM
NOV. 4, 1940 - DEC. 20, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late James William Hartney announces his passing on Sunday December 20th, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 69 years. Born at Vancouver, B.C., James was the son of the late James and Mary Hartney. He was also predeceased by his mother and father-in-law, Ward and Florence Vardy. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving family: wife Mary of 24 years marriage; his children, Debbie (Keith) Jacobson Langley, B.C., Shelly Hartney Australia, Rick Hartney Edmonton. Alta., Whitley and Jamie Bunter of Port aux Basques, four step-daughters; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brother-in-law James (Margaret) Vardy Burnaby, B.C., and a large circle of extended family and friends. To honour James' wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment will be announced at a later date. WALL, THERESA AGNES
JAN. 9, 1925 - DEC. 30, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Theresa Agnes Wall announces her passing on December 30th, at her residence in St. Andrew's at the age of 84 years, Born at St, Andrew's, Theresa was the daughter of the late Daniel and Florence Wail. She was also predeceased by her brothers Gerald and Fred Wall. She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories her daughters Rita (Gord) Francis Port aux Basques, Mary Wall (Keith White) Kelowna, B.C., Jeanie (Charles) Burchell St. Andrew's; grandchildren Scott and Lisa Burchell, Alex and Alistair White; brother William (Elva) Wall Sydney, Nova Scotia; nieces and nephews Dorothy, Patricia, Douglas, Philip and a large circle of cousins and many friends. Visitation' took place on Jan. 1, 2 and 3rd at Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church in St. Andrew's. The funeral mass took place on Monday, Jan. 4, 11 a.m. at Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church, officiated by Father Edward Terry. Interment followed at Precious Blood Roman Catholic Cemetery. Theresa was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend who worked very hard to raise her family and to help out in her community in whatever way she could. She always gave of herself so freely, and did whatever she did with a smile on her face. She will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have had Theresa as a part of their lives.
