ANDERSON, SR., Berkley
August 5, 1925 – August 29, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Berkley Anderson Sr. announces his peaceful passing on Monday August 29, at Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 91 years. Born in Port aux Basques, Berkley was the son of the late Howard and Anna Jane Anderson. He was also predeceased by his loving wife Mary Eileen Anderson in March of 2008, son Wayne, daughters Sheila, Emma (Philip) Sheaves, grandson Derek, brothers; Huett Anderson, Charles Anderson (Irene), Llewellyn Anderson, John Anderson (Eva) and sister Ethel Young (Matthew). Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories are his children; Lorraine (Dan) Matthews London ON, Bert Jr. (Brenda) Anderson Port aux Basques, Edward Anderson (Kathy Welch) Langley BC, Doris (Dave) Farrell Edmonton AB, Catherine (Frederick) Gale, Sandra (Wayne) Stacey all of Port aux Basques, Marilyn (Vincent) Pearce London ON, Colleen (Philip) Stacey London ON, 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many great, great grandchildren. Brothers; Arthur (Elsie) Anderson, Gerald (Kay) Anderson all of Port aux Basques, sister Lillian (Clyde) Cribb Alberta, sister in law Eileen Anderson Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. Funeral services took place Thursday September 1, 2 pm at St. James Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Rev. Marlene Harvey. Interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, High Street. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert Anderson announce his passing at his residence at the age of 74 years. Born in Port aux Basques, he was the son of the late John and Mary (nee Spencer) Anderson. He was also predeceased by his stepfather Bud Beauchamp, sister Ethel, brother Stewart, sister-in-law Elizabeth (Ronald) McIntyre, brothers-in-law David Cox, Raymond Cox, Michael Young and Charles Howse. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his devoted wife Theona of 48 years, two sons Raymond (Denise) Anderson Burlington ON and Randy (Nadege) Anderson Maple Ridge BC, a proud poppy to Robert, Charles, Daniel, Liam and Eric. BOND, Quentin Leon
April 30, 1976 - August 15, 2016

We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Quentin Bond at the age of 40 years. He was a devoted and loving husband to Cecilia Bryan, a heroic father to their two children Hailey and Owen and his fur baby Sasha. He will remain in the hearts and memories of his mother Darlene (Dennis) Bryan Burnt Islands NL, brothers Patrick (Kathy) Isle aux Morts NL, Damien (Jody) Red Deer AB, brother-in-law Travis Bryan (Sabrina) Red Deer Ab, nieces and nephews Kayla, Jayden, Kingston, Maverick, Ava, Addison, Presley and mother and father-in-law Wanda and Bruce Byran. Quentin was predeceased by his father Russell Bond, maternal grandparents Elizabeth and Josiah Strickland and paternal grandparents Hazel and Archibald Bond. Quentin was an easygoing man, to which "Quiet as an old dog" as a perfect fit. He was never seen without his hat and loved to flash a grin. He had a passion for adventure and the outdoors and was known as a superb welder with Heddle Marine in St. John's. Visitation took place at his mother's family home in Burnt Islands on Wednesday, August 17 and Thursday, August 18. Funeral services took place on Friday, August 19, 11 am at St. George's Anglican Church in Burnt Islands with Rev. Jeffery Petten officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Quentin may be made to the family. July 12, 1947 - August 16, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late James (Jim) Chaulk announces his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook on Tuesday, August 16 at the age of 69 years. James was the son of the late George and Ellen (nee Coffin) Chaulk. He was also predeceased by his brother George, mother and father-in-law Reginald and Violet Rose, brother-in-law Sam (Gladys) Rose, and George Rose, sister-in-law Debra Rose, brothers-in-law by marriage Lloyd Sheaves, Lorne Payne, Max Kettle, and Eric Knott and sister-in-law by marriage Margaret Rose. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Jane of 48 years, his loving children Debbie (Bruce) Savoury Port aux Basques NL, and George (Christa) Chaulk Goulds NL. He will be forever remembered as a loving and caring grandfather to Tamara, Chloe, Jasmine, Sophia and Jesse, and step-grandfather to Taylor, Ryan, Megan, Melissa and Abigail. Born in Port aux Basques, Lucy was the daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret Ricketts. She was also predeceased by her husband John Dicks, daughter Jean (Leslie) Osmond, son Wilfred Ricketts, daughter in law Patricia Dicks, many brothers and sisters in law. She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories her children; Gordon (Susan) Dicks, Cora (George) Lawrence, Ray Dicks (Audrey) all of Port aux Basques, Juanita Gearin Mount Pearl NL, Marjorie (Stanley) Seaward Cape Ray, Esther Dicks (Garland), Robert (Debbie) Dicks all of Port aux Basques, Susan (Brian) Ingram Burgeo NL, Claude (Lori) Dicks Port aux Basques. 18 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 4 great, great grandchildren, step daughter Florence (Charles) Riddell Moose Jaw Saskatchewan, brother James Ricketts, daughter in law Eileen Ricketts all of Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. FUDGE, Caroline Jane
(July 30, 1937 - August 22, 2016)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Caroline Jane Fudge (nee Lafosse) announces her peaceful passing on Monday August 22, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 79 years. Born at Francois NL, Caroline was the daughter of the late George Robert and Sarah Maude Lafosse. She was also predeceased by her sister Georgina Fiander and brother Hartley Lafosse. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories is her loving and devoted husband Leslie of 60 years. A proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will also be fondly remembered by her children, Edwina (Melvin) Bateman Port aux Basques, Hartley Wade Fudge (Mary Lou) Calgary Alberta, grandson Jason Hartley Fudge, great grandchildren Jordyn Fudge, Jeyden Fudge, she will also remain in the hearts of her niece Kimberly Russell, nephew Mark Fiander and a large circle of extended family and many friends. Caroline and Leslie moved to Port aux Basques many years ago, they lived a simple, quiet life that revolved very much around their family and their church. They both served on and spear headed many committees of the church over the years and on many an occasion Caroline could be heard playing the organ at St. James, this was her favourite pass time at the church and it was always done with such gentle grace. Her love of music was strong and her greatest passion was working for her Lord. HARVEY, John Patrick
(April 21, 2007 - August 26, 2016)

On Friday August 26th, our lives were changed forever when our beautiful boy John Patrick Harvey came to the end of his earthly journey after a courageous battle with Battens Disease. Awaiting John's arrival in heaven were his loving poppies John Thomas Harvey and Maurice MacIsaac. He leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories his loving and devoted "mommy", Natalie MacIsaac and her fiancé Kelly Francis of Port aux Basques, his father Mark Harvey of Ontario. John will forever remain in the hearts of big sissy Caitlyn and little sis Alexandra. He will also be fondly missed by his nannies; Martha MacIsaac and Linda Harvey (Rob) all of Port aux Basques, step grandparents Kelly Sr, and Roberta Francis of Burnt Islands. Aunts and uncles; Christopher (Josie) Harvey, Ian - Stuart (Jen) MacIsaac, Lesley (Fernando) Anaral, Shannon (Sherry) Bryan, god parents, "auntie" Deanna Johnson and uncle Jimmy Tobin. Special cousins; Brianna, Jenna, Leanna, Sophie, Hailey, Nate, Dalton. Special team of caregivers who loved John as their own, Kerrie Osmond, Cody MacIsaac, Jenna Lawrence and a large circle of extended family, friends, teachers and especially his classmates who adored John and were always his buddies, there to lend a helping hand. The family will be receiving friends at East Haven Funeral Home on Sunday form 2-4 and 7-9 pm with visitation continuing on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Upper Ferry where the funeral mass will take place on Tuesday August 30, 2 pm officiated by Father Lee Lainey. As a sign of respect for John his family kindly ask that you wear John's favourite color to the funeral service, (his favourite colour was blue). She was also predeceased by her husband Jim in 2014, brothers Jack Feltham, Calvin Feltham, sisters; Elizabeth Norton (Robert) Lucy Feltham, sister in law Laura Feltham, brothers in law Tom Kettle, Ralph Kettle, Albert Kettle, Brian Kettle. She leaves to mourn with many loving memories her children; Jimmy (Jackie) Kettle Port aux Basques, Troy (Amanda) Kettle Fox Roost, Cindy Kettle (Max) Port aux Basques. A proud grandmother, Mylida will forever remain in the hearts of her grandchildren; Kyle, Brittany, Morgan, Lucas, Sequoyah. Joe was the son of the late William Jr. And Mary (nee Gibson) Parsons. He was also predeceased by his sisters Sarah and Muriel. It is with great sadness that the family of the late John (Jack) Sheaves announces his passing on Wednesday August 10, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 59 years. John was predeceased by his parents Louis C and Madeline Sheaves. He will be fondly missed and forever remembered by his brother Bob (Zipporah) Sheaves of Iqaluit, his only "Sis" Beatrice Osmond of Port aux Basques. He will always remain in the hearts of his nieces; Jodi, Anita, Natasha, nephew Jonathan and great niece Cynthia, brother in law and buddy Jerry Osmond Port aux Basques. Aunts; Sylvia (Eric) Carew Port aux Basques, Edith (Bob) Sheppard Clarenville NL, Ruth Fraser California USA, Bernice Sheaves, Dorcas Sheaves, Aneitha Sheaves all of Port aux Basques. Special care givers; Kay Gale and Rita Herritt who gave him exceptional care and whom Jack was so fond of and a large circle of cousins and many friends. In keeping with John's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation took place on Sunday August 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. Margaret was the daughter of the late Jack and Flora Keeping. She was also predeceased by mother and father-in-law James and Victoria (nee MacDonald) Spicer, first husband Ronald Munden, brothers Arthur (Sarah), Cyril (Emma Jane), Blandford (Sadie), sisters Maggie (Fred) Gibbs and Irene Keeping, brothers-in-law Maxwell King, James (Emily) Spicer, Levi (Josephine) Spicer, Pierce Spicer, Maxwell Spicer, Leslie (Flora) Spicer, Clifford Hardy and Edward Bernard and sister-in-law Elizabeth (Albert) McLeod. WALTERS, Nathan Cecil
(July 5, 1945 - August 18, 2016)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nathan Walters announce his passing at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre on August 18 at the age of 71. Nathan was the son of the late Nathan and Thelma (nee Fudge) Walters. He was also predeceased by his mother and father-in-law William and Violet (nee Bradbury) Mercer and his brothers Augustus and Leslie. He leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories his devoted wife Evelyn of 47 years, his only daughter Michelle (Russ) Thibault Grand Falls Windsor NL, his precious grandchildren Kayla Thibault Clarenville NL, Andrew (Sheryl) Walters Calgary Ab. He will also remain in the hearts of his brother Garland (Bessie) Walters and sister-in-law Annie Walters all of Foxroost NL, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many many friends and former students and facility staff. Nathan was a school teacher from the years of 1969-1997 where he retired as the vice principal. Nathan had many interests and hobbies which included bowling, hunting, fishing, playing darts or have a game of cards. On Saturday's he could be found in Dubsy's shed for a bowl of peasoup, a few sociables, or just enjoying the social interactions of anyone who came around where many a story were told but may not of been the complete truth. He could also be found on the government wharf talking to his friends about what had happened that day. Visitation taking place on Friday, August 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from East haven Funeral Home Inc. Funeral services taking place on Saturday, August 20, 2 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church, Channel. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill.
