60. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Grace Baggs (nee Keeping) announces her sudden passing on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Charles LeGrow Health Centre. Born in Burnt Islands, she was the daughter of Julia Keeping and late Angus P.Keeping. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten by husband, Henry of 37 years and children, Lyle (Veronica), Amanda Chaulk (Tom), and cherished granddaughter, Sarah Chaulk, sisters, Barbara(Melvin) Harris, Marilyn Hatcher, Arlene Keeping (Dennis Courtney) all of Burnt Islands, Maxine Keeping, (Dermont King) Freshwater, Placentia; brothers, Lorne (Sherry) Keeping, Hubert (Heather) Keeping, Hickman (Nicole) Keeping, all of Burnt Islands, James (Lorraine) Keeping, Cold Lake, AB and Perry (Trudy) Keeping, Port-aux-Basques, mother and father in law, Augusta and Nathan Foote, St. Catherines, ON, sisters and brothers in law, Judi (Bryan)Trush, Thomas (Wendy) Foote, George (Marie) Baggs, all of Ontario, Launce (Dinah) Baggs, Kippens, Roy (Rose) Baggs and Beulah Walters of Isle-aux-Morts, a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by, brother-in-laws, Reginald Hatcher and John Williams Walters. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home. Funeral service to be held on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. George's Anglican Church, Burnt Islands, Reverend Clayton Billard officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Margaree Road. Grace was a very active member of the St.George's Church Alter Guild, Vestry, Cemetery Board and Quilting Ministry. It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Gladys Annetta Bolt announces her passing at the Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Centre at the age of 88 years. She is predeceased by her parents the late George & Mary Ellen Anderson, Husband Isacc, her brothers Thomas (Eva) Anderson, Edwin (Sarah) Anderson, sisters Freda (Garfield) Lemione and Mabel (William) Chant and precious great granddaughter Kaitlyn. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Mabel (Robert) Price Shelburne, ONT, Valerie (Don) Allen Port aux Basques and Emmanuel (Judy) Bolt Ajax, ONT, grandchildren Danny Price, Randy Price, Lori (Wilfred) Munden, Sandra (Carl) Allen, Corey (Leanne) Allen, Colin (Donna) Allen, Micheal Bolt, & Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Bolt, great grandchildren Tyler Price, Shane Price, Brianna Bolt, Aiden Bolt, Thomas Bolt, and Mikayla Allen. She will also be sadly missed and remembered by a large circle of family and many of her friends. Visitation took place on Thursday, August 14 from 2-4 & 7-9 and Friday, August 15 from 2-4 & 7-9 from East Haven Funeral Home. It is with great sadness that the family of the late James "Jimmy" Chaisson announces his passing at his residence on August 18, 2014 at the age of 53 years. Besides his father, the late Cornelius Chaisson, he was predeceased by his sister Mary; brothers Peter and Paul; brothers-in-law Mickey Ryan and Wayne Wheeler; niece Deborah Ann, and great nephew Logan Michael Ryan. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his mother Mary; brothers and sisters: Cecelia Ryan, Con Chaisson, Teresa "Susan" (Roger) Ryan, David Chaisson, Terry Chaisson, Morris Chaisson all of Codroy Valley, Karen (Dan) Rixon Port aux Basques, Wanda Wheeler Port au Port, Joseph (Judy) Chaisson Cole Harbour, NS, Brian (Sandra) Chaisson Codroy Valley, Valerie (Leslie) Gerein Fort McMurray, AB, and Julie (Kevin) Lannigan St. John's; 20 nieces and nephews, and 14 great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Lorraine Chaisson and special friend Francis at Dreamcatchers, plus a large circle of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation took place on Wednesday, August 20 at 7:30 pm and Thursday, August 21 beginning in the morning. Funeral service took place on Friday, August 22 at 11 am from St. Ann's Catholic Church in Upper Ferry with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Saint Thomas Cemetery, Great Codroy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family. The family of Richard (Ricky) Wilfred Collier sadly announce his sudden passing on August 15, 2014 at his place of residence at Edmonton, Alberta. A quiet man with a big heart, he will be remembered always by: his partner of 14 years, Rosalie Janes; three sons, Richard, Jonathan, and Dennis, all of Edmonton; two grandsons, William and Mason; two sisters, Juanita (Andy) Downey, Joan (Michael) Hilliard; step-grandmother, Valerie Collier; and a wide circle of relatives and friends.
Ricky's ashes were laid to rest with his parents, Mabel and Wilfred Collier on August 22, 2014 at Holy Trinity Church Cemetery, Rev. Stephen Maki officiating.

Born in Rencounter West, he was the son of the late John Matt and Olive Catherine (Skinner) Durnford. He will be mourn by son, Merrill, granddaughter, Linda (Darryl) Rose, great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jenna, sister Eva. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Charlotte, sisters Ada, Julia, Ida, brother Fred, daughter-in-law, Ida. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Fillatre Funeral Home, where visitation will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 19 at 2:00 PM from St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Billard officiating. Interment to follow in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Donations in Eric’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. 86, It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Bernice on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Charles LeGrow Health Centre with her loving family by her side. Born in Codroy, she was the daughter of the late John and Charlotte Samms. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten by children, Joan, George (Clarrisa), Ann (Joe), Donald (Lucy), Yvonne (Darrell), Albert (Wanda), Joyce (Don), Catherine (Andrew) and Barbara (Alex), 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, and brother, Albert (Doretta) Samms. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Joseph Gillis, granddaughter, Kayla Farrell and brother and sister in law Fred and Joyce Samms. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Fillatre Funeral Home, in keeping with Bernice wishes there was no visitation. Funeral service was held on Friday, August 15, 2014 from St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Upper Ferry, Father Laney officiating. Interment to follow in Chapel Green Cemetery, Upper Ferry. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edward Keeping announces his passing at the Western Memorial Hospital at the age of 59 years. Besides his parents, the late William and Clara (nee Francis) Keeping, he was predeceased by his brothers Austin Keeping and Clarence Keeping, his father-in-law Walter Vautier, stepfather-in-law Richard Blackmore and brother-in-law Sandy Organ. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Sheila Keeping of 39 years; children: Guy (Holly) Keeping, Jerri-Lynn (Justin) Lovell, and Andrew (Jessica Wiswell) Keeping; grandchildren Andrew Keeping, Chloe Lovell, Matthew Keeping, Keira Lovell, Cole Lovell, Abby Keeping, and Hayden Keeping, brothers and sisters Fred (Alice) Francis, Vivian (George) Walters, Dorothy (Jake) Proulx, Henry (Louise) Keeping, Susie Organ and Kelly (Betty) Keeping; brothers and sisters-in-law: Ken (Debbie) Vautier, Lendy (Merna) Vautier, Jerry (Elaine) Vautier, Margaret (Bill) Taylor, Marlene (Gordon) Chant, Harry (Delores) Vautier, Evelyn Keeping, and Ethel Keeping; mother-in-law Edna Vautier; special aunts Josie McDermott and Julia Keeping, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and many special friends. With much sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Gus O'Quinn on August 25th at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in the presence of his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Pete and Julie O'Quinn, brothers Tom and Bern. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving partner Margaret Campbell; brothers: Martin (Mae), Leo, Pat and sister Louise, also Margaret's children: Stanley (Bonnie) Campbell, Lawrence (Heather) Campbell, and Mary (Peter) Campbell-Hunt, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation began on Wednesday, August 27 beginning at 2 pm and Thursday, August 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm from St. Sylvester Roman Catholic Church, South Branch. Mass of Christian Burial took place on Friday, August 29 at 11 am with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Interment followed at St. Sylvester Roman Catholic Cemetery. Flowers accepted or donations may be made to the St. Sylvester Parish Cemetery Fund. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, husband, brother, uncle and friend. Born in Port Aux Basques, NL he was a beloved husband of 31 years to Kate and loving father to Danika (Josh). Fondly remembered by his sisters Marie (Eric), Shirley (Rick), brother Shawn and brother-in-law Eg Walters. Predeceased by his parents Elise and Garfield Piercey, sister Roma Walters, mother-in-law Charlene Tilley and nephew Jonathan Bragg. He will be missed by his father-in-law Calvin Tilley, Kate's sisters and brothers, Jo-Anne Bragg (Mel), Calvin Tilley Jr., Jennifer Griffin (Donald), Alastair Tilley (Diane), and Peter Tilley. Special uncle to David and Bobbie Matthews, Michael Bartlett (Trina), Alicia Marshall (Chris), Rebecca Walters, Kristan Bragg (Holly), Heidi Matthews (Colin), Sarah Hamhuis (Dan), Lindsey Olineck (Kurtis), Beth Hawco, Jack Tilley, Bella Tilley and numerous friends that were dear to his heart. Merrill was a talented tradesman that started his trade as a young child in his fathers welding shop. He took his love, passion and hard work to develop his own business Danco Welding Inc. in 1990. Even though you were taken from us far to soon you enriched many of the lives you touched. Gone from us but never forgotten as you will always be in our thoughts and hearts. A celebration of life will be held at the I.O.O.F Lodge Saturday August 30th at 8:00pm.

WALL, Michael
April 5, 1925 - August 28, 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Michael Wall announces his passing on Thursday August 28, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 89 years. Michael was predeceased by his wife Rita (nee Brake) and his son Brian. He leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories his children; Carol (Paul) Hanlon St. John's NL, Sandra (Ken) Kendall Ontario, Stephen (Edna) Wall and Esther wall all of South Branch. 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, daughter in law Vina Wall Corner Brook, stepbrother Thomas Benoit Port aux Basques and a large circle of extended family and many friends. The family received friends on Sunday August 31, at St. Sylvester's Roman Catholic Church in South Branch. A Mass of Christian Burial took place on Monday September 1, 11 AM at St. Sylvester's Roman Catholic Church officiated by Father Lee Lainey, interment followed at St. Sylvester's Roman Catholic Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial donations may donate to the Salvation Army. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home Inc, Port aux Basques, 695-2300. www.easthavenfuneralhome.com
