ANDERSON, Joseph
1927-2012

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Anderson announce his passing at LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the age of 84 years. He was born at Ford's Island, Port-aux-Basques. He was the son of the late Henry and Maude Anderson. He leaves to mourn: sister Susie Gale, Clarke's Beach (formerly of Cape Anquille); sister in law Doris Anderson, Cape Anquille; special friends: Shelley Coffin, Port aux Basques, Sharon, Dave, and Jennifer Carroll, Pasadena; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by brothers: Martin (1949), Fred (1991), Hubert (1996), and George (2008); infant sisters: Debora (1916) and Julie (1935); and brother in law Thomas P. Gale (1997.) Friends visited Fillatre's Funeral Home in Port Aux Basques on Friday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place at St. James Anglican Church on Saturday, August 25th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Hannah Dicks officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery, Barachois Hill. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted. GILLAM, Margaret Theresa
It is with great sadness after a courageous battle with cancer, the family of the late Margaret Theresa Gillam announces her passing surrounded by her loving family on Friday August 17, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 65 years. Born at South Branch, Theresa was the daughter of the late John and Elsie Gale. She was also predeceased by her son Timothy, brother Thomas, brother-in-law Joseph. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her loving family: husband Michael of 42 years, daughter Melanie, sons Michael and David, grandsons Joey and Jonah, sisters Donna (Hyacinth) Aucoin, Sharon (Owen) St. Croix, Marilyn (Junior) Pearce, brothers Michael Gale, Lewis (Clara) Gale, Bernard (Rita) Gale, Brian (Jessie) Gale, Danny (Roxanne) Gale, Hughie (Edna) Gale, brothers-in-law; William (Lazeta) Gillam, Charlie (Laura) Gillam, Robert (Bernice) Gillam, Jim (Lorraine) Gillam, sisters-in-law Agnes (Graham) Bishop, Gennita Gale, and very special friends Robert and Roslyn Tucker, Dr. Ryan Cormier, special Aunt Marilyn Gale and a large circle of nephews, nieces and many friends. Visitation took place on Sunday from 5-7pm (family viewing only) and Monday at St. Sylvester Roman Catholic Church, South Branch. The funeral mass took place on Tuesday August 21, 2 PM at St. Sylvester's Roman Catholic Church officiated by Father Edward Terry. Interment followed at St. Sylvester's Roman Catholic Catholic Cemetery. Flowers greatly appreciated or donations to the Janeway Children's Hospital. INGRAM, James
Margaree, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Ingram announce his passing on Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques at the age of 88 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his nieces; Joan (Albert) Herrit and Bernice Billard (Ephie); nephew Kelvin (Roma) Billard; and a wide circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeased by his father Thomas Ingram, mother Catherine (Baggs) Ingram, sisters Loretta Ingram, Ada Billard and brother-in-law Gordon Billard. Friends visited St. Augustus Anglican Church in Margaree on Saturday evening and Sunday. The funeral service was held on Monday, August 13 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Augustus Anglican Church, officiated by The Rt. Rev. Leonard Whitten. Internment followed at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. LAWRENCE, Ben Austin
Baby son of Marco and Stephanie Lawrence, Middle Sackville, NS, passed away at the IWK Children's Hospital on August 21st, 2012. Ben is survived by his brother, Carter, Grandparents Austin and Marie Lawrence, Dean and Norma Lawrence, Great-grandparents, Daniel and Gladys Lawrence, Elizabeth Harvey, Uncles Daniel Lawrence and Jake Lawrence, all of Isle Aux Morts, NL, Aunt Lisa Lawrence (Mike Hayes) and cousin Jacob Hayes of Lower Sackville, NS, and a large circle of family and friends. Cremation took place on Thursday, August 23rd, 2012. Funeral arrangements are planned for a later date.

58, began a new adventure on August 8, 2012, he takes with him the love of his son Dustin. He leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories his loving family, son Dustin (Stacy) Middle Sackville, NS. Vera Lillington, Burnt Islands, father, Clayton Lillington Sr., Isle aux Morts, brothers; Russell (Blanche) Lillington and Herman Lillington all of Isle aux Morts, sisters; Ruth (Hickman) Organ, Isle aux Morts, Rosalie (George) Best, North Sydney, NS, Susanna (Rodney) Wells, Isle aux Morts, sister-in-law Christina Lillington, Isle aux Morts, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. he was predeased by his mother, Ida (nee Harvey) Lillington and brother, Clayton Lillington Jr. Funeral service took place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2012, at Holy Spirit Church, officiated by Rev. MacDONALD, Charles Roy
1918-2012
Port Aux Basques, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Charles Roy MacDonald announce his peaceful passing surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 20th, 2012 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 94 years. Born at Grand Bruit on January 20, 1918, Roy was the son of the late Charles and Martha MacDonald. Roy was a fisherman and an employee of CN Marine. He was predeceased by four brothers: Clyde, Sidney, John Martin and Gerald and brothers & sisters-in-law. Left with many fond and precious memories of a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather are: Roy's wife of 70 years, Clara; his children: Juanita (James) Kynoch, Port Rowan, ON, Marilyn (Percy) Savoury, Port Aux Basques, Terry (Margie) MacDonald, St. Andrews; grandchildren: Glen (Shelly) Savory, Sheri Ogden, Lisa (Steve) Allen, Roy (Heather) MacDonald, Christopher MacDonald; great-grandchildren: Emily, Marissa, Tori and Kaleigh, and one sister Joyce (Russell) MacDonald, Truro, NS, as well as brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and friends. Special thanks to his caregivers Marlene Kendall and Jennifer Osmond and many thanks to the staff at the LeGrow Health Centre for their care and kindness during his stay at the hospital. Visitation took place on Wednesday, August 22nd between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques. Funeral services took place on Thursday, August 23rd at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Hannah Dicks officiating. Interment followed at St. James Cemetery, Barachois Hill. MacDONALD, John Joseph
(April 13, 1947 - August 7, 2012)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Joseph MacDonald announces his sudden passing due to a drowning accident on Tuesday, August 7th at the age of 65 years. He will be very sadly missed by his son Lorne of Fort McMurray AB, his sister Madonna (Clem) Codroy Valley, brothers Jim Burlington ON, Kevin (Darlene) Stephenville NL, also left to share some wonderful memories a very special nephew George and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and many friends. John was predeceased by his Dad, Mom and in April 2012 his brother Arthur Gale. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 11th, 11 AM at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Upper Ferry officiated Father Edward Terry. No flowers at the request of the family. PINK, Lloyd James
April 23, 1949 - August 9, 2012

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lloyd James Pink announces his sudden passing on Thursday August 9, at the age of 63 years. Born at Harbor Le Cou, Lloyd was the son of the late Kenneth and Rachel Pink. He was also predeceased by his brothers; Fred, George, Kenneth Jr, his sisters Jennie and Goldie, and his mother and father in law Rachel and Joe Keeping. Left to mourn with many fond and precious memories are his loving and devoted wife Mary of 41 years. Wonderful father to Lloyd Jr. (Darlene) Port aux Basques, and Serena (Bruce) Clarke Lacombe Alberta. Proud poppy of his granddaughters Jaimie and Emily and grandson Matthew. He will also be sadly missed by his sister Eileen of Ontario. Brother in law Gordon (Ethel) Walters North Sydney NS. Sisters in law; Dinah (Launce) Bagg Kippens NL, Linda Pink Burgeo NL, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation took place on Saturday and Sunday at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts. Funeral services took place Monday August 13, 2 PM at Holy Spirit Anglican officiated by Rev. Clayton Billard, interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts road. SENIOR, Robert George
Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at Glenbrook Lodge, St. John's on Aug. 5, 2012, Robert Senior age 79 years. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years Neala Evelyn Brake Senior, son-in-law Raymond Gamble, brother Jack Senior, parents Hannah and George Senior, parents-in-law James and Minetta Brake, brother-in-law Gerald Brake and his wife Eileen. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his loving children, Holly Reeves (Ivan Langdon), Shelley Senior, Kathy Moore (Patrick Moore), Natalie Dutchak (Kevin Dutchak), and Melanie Gamble (Paul Rideout); ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Cora Senior, and Olive Beatie (Doug Beatie); brothers-in-law Alva Brake (Edna Brake), and John Brake (Thelma Brake). Robert was a very loving papa and a favourite uncle to his many nieces and nephews. His family was his life, and he loved nothing better than to get together to break bread and make music with his devoted family. Robert was also a well-respected businessman in Port aux Basques where he operated Bob's Chicken Coop for 40 plus years. Visitation took place on Tuesday, Aug. 7, and Wednesday, Aug. 8. A memorial service took place at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 2 p.m. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road, St. John's. SPENCER, William (Bill)
Passed peacefully away in the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital with his family at his bedside on Monday, August 27, 2012 following a brief but courage battle with cancer, William Robert Spencer of Pasadena, NL at the age of 63 years. Bill was born in Cul de Sac West, a small, now resettled community on the southwest Coast of the Province, son of the late Samuel and Esther Spencer (nee Hardy). He grew up in Port aux Basques and then worked for more than 35 years with the Provincial Department of Works, Services and Transportation. Bill was predeceased by his brother Sam and sister Millie. He leaves to mourn with loving memories his wife of 41 years, Mary (nee Williams), sons Robert (Tammy) and Michael (Gerarda), daughter Ann Marie Noel (David), precious grandchildren Allie Spencer, Lilianne Noel, Damien and Alysha Collings, siblings Sue Edmonds (Leroy), Eileen Dingwell (Cliff), Margaret Crewe (Max), Pearl Francis (Joe), Cecil (Roseanna), Gary, Barry (Sandra), David (Joanne), Paul (Tracey), sisters-in-law Lorraine Patten (John Roil) and Winnie Hoyt (John), together with numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and a large circle of friends. As Bill had requested, cremation has taken place. Visitation took place at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue, Corner Brook on Wednesday, August 29 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A memorial gathering was held in Fillatre's Chapel on Thursday, August 30 at 2:00 pm followed by inurnment at the Anglican Cemetery, Pasadena. Flowers are gratefully accepted.
