It is with great sadness that the family of the late Donna Clevett announces her passing on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Dr. Charles L. Legrow Health Center at the age of 52 years. Born at Port aux Basques, Donna was the daughter of late Walter and Caroline Elizabeth Poole. She was also predeceased by brother John-Mat Poole, sisters Alma Short, Betty Keeping and Barb Thompson. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving family; common law husband Aubrey Freake, daughter Bobbi Jo-Ann Clevett Ord (Ryan), granddaughter Hannah, brother Walter - Junior Poole, sister Ruby Poole and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many, many friends. To honour Donna's wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral services took place on Tuesday August 23rd, 2 PM at the Salvation Army Citadel, officiated by Captain Paul Blake. It is with great sadness the family of the late Martha Elizabeth Francis announces her passing on August 4, 2011 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: sons (Dorman), Uxbridge, ON; (George, Clayton and Garfield), Isle aux Morts, NL; (Samuel), St. John's, NL, (Goward), Grand Prairie, AB; daughters, (Loretta, Elizabeth and Karen), Isle aux Morts, NL. Also left to mourn with fond and loving memories are 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, five daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, sister Priscilla Huelin, a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased her husband Samuel, Aug. 31, 1995, sister Lorena Billard, brother Garfield Walters, granddaughter Pattie Francis and son-in-law Thomas Delorey. The family received friends at Holy Spirit Church in Isle aux Morts, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Aug. 5th and 6th and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 7th. Funeral services took place on Sunday, Aug. 7 at 2 p.m. at Holy Spirit Church in Isle aux Morts officiated by Rev. Duncan Granter. The interment of ashes service took place at 11 a.m. on Aug. 9th at Hillside Haven Cemetery officiated by Rev. Kris Gosse. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, NL.

Our little angles Jacob and Joseph Hilliard was called to the Lord on August 10, 2011 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook. They are survived by their daddy Ivan Hilliard & mommy Marsha Hilliard. Maternal grandparents: Mary Loder (Peter Anderson) & Frank Loder (Anita Loder). Paternal grandparents: Sheila Hilliard (Clifford Hilliard) and Emanuel Hilliard. Aunt /Uncles (Maternal) John Loder,Tammy Day. Aunts/Uncles (Paternal), Eddie Hilliard, Pauline Hilliard, David Hilliard, Deborah Fields, Phillip Hilliard, Sandra Downey, Heather Janes. As well as a large circle of Family and Friends. Cremation has taking place. Under the direction of Country Haven Funeral Home.

KENDELL, Hilda Gertrude

Hilda Gertrude Kendell (nee Fiander) passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2011 at Dr. Charles L. Legrow Health Center in her 95th year, with family at her side. Formerly of Woodville, NL Hilda was born on December 11, 1916 and is predeceased by her husband George Robert Kendell (1983), her parents Isaac and Ethel Fiander, brothers Warren, George Jack and Vince Fiander and sisters Dorothy Fiander, Ruth Cooper, Betty Stockley and Vera Kendell. Survived by her sister Marie Dominie (Jack) and brother Ralph Fiander (Marion). Sisters-in-law Kay and Addie Fiander.
Devoted mother and lifelong friend to Mildred Carpenter (Ed Harris), Clayton Kendell (Eleanor), Audrey Coupland (Keith), Valerie Downey (Eugene), Karen Samms, Ken Kendell (Sandra), Joan Gatt (Larry). Cherished grandmother of 15 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Dearly loved aunt and friend.
Hilda was a long standing member of the ACW and Holy Trinity Church in Codroy and will be missed for her wonderful sense of humor and love for life.
Visitation took place on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at East Haven Funeral Home in Grand Bay from 7-9 PM and will take place on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral services to be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, 2:00 PM at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Peter Boote. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Frederick LeFrense announces his passing on Wednesday August 31, at Western Memorial Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 78. Born in Burnt Islands, James was the son of the late Violet and Nathaniel LeFrense of Isle aux Morts. He was also predeceased by his Son Larry, grandson Ryan, brother William, Mother and father in law Irene and Edwin Hillier, and other in laws. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving and devoted wife Margaret of 57 years, their children, William (Josephine), Eileen, Valerie (Brad), Shelia (Greg), Gail (James), and daughter in law Mary. Grandchildren; Colin, Gavin, Leonard, Samantha, Danielle, Savannah, and 5 great grandchildren. Born at Channel-Port aux Basques, Ella was the daughter of the late Samuel (1969) and Clara (1989) (Foote/Thomas) Jeans. She was also predeceased by her brother Arthur (2002) and a large number of in-laws. Ella will be sadly missed by her husband of 46 years, Llewellyn; sons, Samuel (Marion), Stephenville and Michael, Port aux Basques; granddaughter Samantha; grandson Nathan, Kensington, PEI; step-granddaughter Haley Rae; sister Ethel (Roland) Barnes, Cape Ray; brother Lloyd (Ann), Port aux Basques; sisters-in-law, Marie Thomas, Port aux Basques, Henrietta Murray, Maple Ridge, BC, Viola (Holomew) Reid, Halifax, NS, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Austin Pink announces his passing on Monday August 29, at Western Memorial Hospital at the age of 59 years. Born at Harbour Le Cou, Austin was the son of the late Randell and Evelyn (nee Rose) Pink. He was also predeceased by his brother in law Clarence Brown. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving family, sisters Kathleen Brown of Rose Blanche with whom he resided, Rita (Gordon) Bennett Port aux Basques, Clarence (Donna) Pink, and Melvin (Valerie) Pink all of Rose Blanche. Loving uncle to only niece Dena (John) Richardson, nephews; John Bennett (Trina), Paul Bennett (Rona), Jason Bennett (Loretta), Justin Bennett (Melica). Great nieces and nephews; Mason, Kayla, Mackenna, Cole, Rogan, Jack. He will also be fondly remembered by a large circle of extended family and many friends.
