BENOIT, Mary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Benoit (nee White) announces her passing at LeGrow Health Centre on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the age of 90 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Onesime, grandson Adam Campbell, brothers; Clem, Arnold and Archie, sisters: Margaret, Eva and Adelina. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her 5 sons and 5 daughters: Martin Benoit (predeceased by wife Sandra), Wilfreda Swyers (Neil), Allan Benoit (Helen), Laverna Swyers (predeceased by husband Calvin), Edna Layman, Patrick Benoit (Lillian), Julieanne Muise (Marcel), Vina Wall (predeceased by husband Brian), Leo Benoit (Barbara), Wallace Benoit (Larry McCarthy), as well as 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; sisters Molly McIsaac (predeceased by husband Richard) and Wilfreda Bungay (predeceased by husband Albert); special friends Will and Ann Parsons and Adele Wall, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special thank you to all who showed their support to our mother in her time of need, the staff of LeGrow's Health Centre, Father Terry and St. Anne's Centre. Friends visited the RC Church of the Precious Blood in Doyles on Sunday and Monday, from where the Funeral Service took place on Tuesday, August 31 at 10 a.m. Interment followed at the Church Cemetery. Father Terry officiated. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. The family guest book may be signed by visiting our website www.fillatre.ca

CHAISSON, Mary Alice

Mary A Chaisson
passed away on Saturday August 21, 2010 at Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 99 years. Born at Margaree, Mary was the daughter of the late Dinah and James Hodder. She was also predeceased by her first husband Alexander Walters of Fox Roost and her second husband James Chaisson of Codroy Valley, son Alex of Codroy Valley, daughter Lucy Maud Dickens of Mt. Pleasant MI, step- sons Gerard and Billie Chaisson, step daughter Rita MacDonald of Codroy Valley, two sisters and six brothers. She is survived by her son Hubert (Aggie) Walters Mount Pearl NL, Edith (Buz) Hart Jacksonville FL, sister Ruth (Garf) Piercey Port aux Basques, step daughter Mary C Gale Great Codroy NL, step daughter Theresa (John) Barney BC, daughter in law Margaret Chaisson Corner Brook, son in law Charlie Dickens Mount Pleasant MI, sister in law Elsie Walters Pratt Williams Lake, BC. Many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends including the staff and friends at Mountain Hope Manor and those of Gilbert Place. Mary took great pride in her home and family and was very active in her church. Summers meant a lovely lawn and lots of beautiful flowers to greet family and many friends and relatives who loved to visit. Visitation took place on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home, then continued on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Upper Ferry. The funeral mass took place on Tuesday August 24, 11 AM at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, officiated by Father Edward Terry. Interment followed at Mount St. Thomas Roman Catholic Cemetery. CUTLER, Maude

The family of the late Maude Cutler (nee Durnford) announces her passing on August 20, 2010 at the Calder Health Care Centre, in Burgeo, at the age of 83. Predeceased by her husband Maxwell; She will be sadly missed by her children; Olive (Wallace Hatcher), Edward (Shirley), Ada, Hartley (Gail), Sharon (Tony Sandonato), Valerie (Shelley Squibb), ten grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 4 step-great grandchildren. One brother Harley Durnford, predeceased by brother Wilson, sisters, Ruth and Queenie; Leaving to mourn a large circle of relatives and friends. The funeral service was held at St. Boniface Anglican Church in Ramea on Monday, August 23, interment at the Church Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer's society or the Church Memorial Fund, Ramea.

KETTLE, Walter Edward
(October 23, 1927 - August 9, 2010)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Walter Edward Kettle announces his passing on Monday, August 9, 2010 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 82 years. Born at Grand Bay, NL,Walter was the son of the Late Arthur and Hannah Kettle. He was also predeceased by his Step-Mother Alice (Ninn) Kettle, Sisters Katherine (Kitty) Pearce and Sarah (Sadie) Skeard, Niece Darlene Clevett, Brothers-in-law Ivan Walters, Gilbert Hynes, Raymond Jeans and Roy Skeard. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his wife Regina (Jean) of 56 years, Son Edward and wife Kim of Grand Bay East, Grandsons Brandon and Bradley, Sisters Nina (Gerald) Jeans of Port aux Basques, Carrie Walters of Port aux Basques and Pearl (Russell) Lomond of Port aux Basques, Brother Sam Kettle of Port aux Basques, Brother-in-law Lou Pearce of Port aux Basques and a large circle of Nephews, Nieces and a large circle of other family and friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Thursday, August 12, 2010, 2PM at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Port aux Basques, officiated by Rev. Peter Boote. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Catherine Matthews announces her passing on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 88 years. Born at Port aux Basques Mary was the daughter of the late John and Martha Jane McNeil. She was also predeceased by her Husband Edgar William (Bill) and Daughter Barbara. Sisters, Elizabeth McNeil Luedee, Martha McNeil Osmond and Mildred McNeil Campbell. Brothers Arthur McNeil, James McNeil and Frederick McNeil. Sisters-in-law Violet McNeil and Alice McNeil. Brothers-in-law Tom Luedee, Malcolm Campbell and Howard Osmond. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her family: son Ronald Matthews (Janet Pemberton) of Arizona, USA. Granddaughters Elaine (Fred Reese) of Lower Sackville, NS with whom she resided for the past three years. Robyn (Tom) Fletcher of New Mexico, USA. Great-granddaughter Stephanie Strickland of Lower Sackville, NS. Great-grandson Keaton Fletcher of West Virginia, USA. Brother William (Elsie) McNeil of Port aux Basques. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rita Muise announces her passing on Monday, August 23, 2010 at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 61 years. Born at Upper Ferry, Rita was the daughter of Duncan and Angela MacIsaac. She was predeceased by Brothers Gerald, David and Carl. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories devoted husband Dennis of 41 years marriage, Son Perry (Lisa) Muise of Mount Pearl, NL. Daughters Sherry Lynn (David) Rodgers of Petawawa, ON, Lorna Aucoin of Dartmouth, NS. Grandchildren Cassie-Lynn Aucoin and Riley Aucoin, Brothers Peter MacIsaac of Stephenville, NL, George MacIsaac of Labrador City, NL, and Joseph (Ann) MacIsaac of Upper Ferry, NL. Sisters Margie (Eli) Samms of Upper Ferry, NL, Sheila (Pat) Crawley of Holyrood, NL, Bernadette (Joseph) Carmanico of Ottawa, ON, Mary Rankin of Ottawa, ON, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Rita was a fun loving person who had a zest for life and loved cooking, baking and volunteering at St. Ann's Center. She was passionate about her family, was an avid animal lover and always had a smile and a kind word for anyone who was lucky enough to meet and know her. She will be sadly missed and never forgotten. Visitation took place at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Upper Ferry on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and on Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral mass took place on Thursday, August 26, 10 AM at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, officiated by Father Edward Terry. Interment followed at Mount St. Thomas Roman Catholic Cemetery. STONE, Harvey Maxwell

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maxwell Stone announces his passing on Tuesday August 17, 2010 at Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 80 years. Born at West Point NL, Maxwell was the son of the late Frank and Annie Stone (nee Strickland). He was also predeceased by his wife Carrie on April 6, 2010. Sisters; Rita Sheaves, Dorothy Stone. Sister's in law; Amy Riles, Loretta Vautier. Brother's in law; Airman Sheaves, Jack LerRiche, Jack King, Albert Bond, Walter Vautier, Chesley Vautier. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories, his loving family; children; Phyllis (Reginald) Carroll Margaree, Alfreda (Douglas) Walters, Roberta (Isreal) Strickland, Ivan (Virginia) Stone all of Fox Roost, Wayne (Wanda) Stone Margaree, Maxine (David) Payne Trenton ON, Derick (Cathy) Stone, Michael (Wanda - Lee) Stone, all of Margaree. Sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, brother; Herbert Stone, sister Bernice (Albert) Osmond all of Port aux Basques. Sister's in law; Kay LeRiche, Mildred King, Sybil (Gerald) King, Lois Vautier, Edna Vautier, Sus Thorne. Brother's in law; Gilbert Riles, Hubert (Shirley) Vautier, Gerald Vautier (Debbie), Max (Clara) Vautier, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends including those friends and the staff at Mountain Hope Manor. Visitation took place on Wednesday evening and Thursday at St. Augustine's Anglican Church in Margaree. Funeral services took place on Friday August 20, 2 PM at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Duncan Granter. Interment followed at St. Augustine's Cemetery.
