CLARKE, Pearl
August 24, 1933 - August 16, 2007

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre on August 16th, 2007, Pearl Clarke at the age of 73 years. She was born in Rose Blanche, NL. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ezitte (Butt) Walters. She leaves to mourn sons, Eric Walters Jr. (wife, Sylvia), Brad Clarke (wife, Valerie); brothers, Harold Vallis, James Vallis (wife, Josephine); grandson, Michael Walters (Garia Taylor) and two great-Grandchildren, Eric and Erica Walters; sister-in-law, Katie Walters, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, David Clarke; brother, Eric Walters Sr., and sister, Dora Farrell. Viewing was at her home in Rose Blanche. The funeral service took place at St. Michael’s All Angels Church in Rose Blanche on Sunday, August 19th at 2 p.m. Internment was held at Hillside Haven. SPENCER, Mr. William James (Todd)
January 4, 1968 - August 16, 2007

It is with profound sadness that the Spencer family announces the sudden passing of Todd on Thursday, August 16th, 2007 in his 39 th year. Loving father of Evan and Cole. Beloved son of Catherine Downey and Roy Spencer. Dearest brother of Shannon and Roy Jr., and adored uncle of Chelsea. Cherished and beloved companion of Adrienne. The family will receive friends at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Road, Pickering Village (Ajax) 905-428-8488 on Sunday, August 19th, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. Service was held in the chapel on Monday, August 20th at 11:00. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to an education fund that has been set up for Evan and Cole Spencer would be greatly appreciated by the family. CARTER, Geraldine E.
February 21st, 1928 - August 17th, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Geraldine Ellen Carter announce her passing Friday, August 17, 2007 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques at the age of 79 years. Born in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Olive Bateman. She was also predeceased by her husband Isaac in 2004, mother and father-in-law, James and Julia Carter, brothers-in-law, Mac Kendall, Brainard LeValliant, Ken Fraser, Ted Pike, Eric Carter and Robert Carter. Sisters-law, Mary Carter, Ada Carter and Pearl Hynes. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving family Alex (Anne Marie) Fall River, NS, Janice (Gerald) Greene, Ken (Sharon) Carter, Jocelyn (David) Gillam and Holly (Brian) Farrell all of Port aux Basques. Grandchildren: Kimberly, Keith, Mark, Melanie, Kenneth and Michael. Great-Grandchildren: Carter, Marcus and Matthew. Sisters-in-law: Maude Kendall, Halifax, NS; Dolly LeValliant, Lower Sackville, NS; Margaret Fraser, Port aux Basques; Mary Pike, Port aux Basques and Mary Carter of St. John’s. Brother-in-law Max Carter, Port aux Basques, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Visitation took place on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Monday, August 20th, 2 p.m. at St. James’ Anglican Church in Channel officiated by Rev. Canon Hugh Fudge. Interment followed at St. James’ Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

BILLARD, Audrey G.
February 21st, 1936 - August 20th, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Audrey Gertrude Billard announce her passing on Monday, August 20th, 2007 at her residence in Margaree at the age of 71 years. Born in Margaree, NL, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Rebecca Kendell. She is also predeceased by her daughter Jeanette, grandson Michael and granddaughter Rebecca. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving husband of 51 years Cyril, Margaree. Her daughters Roslyn (Perry) Warren, Fox Roost, Sharon (John W) Billard, Sandra Billard and April Billiard all of Margaree. Sons, Roger (Beulah) Billard, Fort St. John, BC. Grandchildren, Junior (Jennifer) Billard, Margaree, Desmond Billard, Fort St. John, BC, Nicholas and Maria Warren, Fox Roost. Great-grandchild Tanner Billard. Sisters-in-law, Annie Walters, Fox Roost and Ruby (Marvin) Currie. Brothers-in-law, Henry (Phyllis) Billard, Roland Billard and Freeman Northcott as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday and Wednesday at St. Augustine’s Church in Margaree. Funeral services took place on Thursday, August 23rd, 2 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in Margaree. Officiated by Rev. Duncan Granter. Interment to follow at St. Augustine’s Anglican Cemetery, Margaree. Funeral arrangements in the care of east Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

MUNDEN, Nolan H.
October 10, 1983 - August 22, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nolan H. Munden announced his tragic passing on August 22, 2007 at the age of 23 years. Nolan was predeceased by grandparents, Kenneth Munden and James and Meta Courtney. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his parents, Anthony and Denise Munden as well as brother, Devon; grandmother, Annie Munden, all of Burnt Islands; financé, Shawna Herridge, Isle aux Morts; his Godson, Jaden as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. Visitation took place at his family home in Burnt Islands on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Funeral services took place on Monday, August 27, 2 p.m. at St. George’s Church in Burnt Islands officiated by Rev. A. Nussey. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

SMITH, Leonard - Received into God’s merciful keeping on August 22, 2007, Leonard Smith, beloved husband of the Rev'd. Evelyn Smith. His family gives God thanks for his kind and gentle life. His three children are Michelle O’Grady, St. John’s, Michael (Terri) Smith, Beauval, Sask. and Mitchell (Alana) Smith of Gander. He leaves four grandchildren: Timothy O’Grady, Tyler and Megan Smith and Jeremy Gilbert; one sister, Martha Follett of Labrador City; brother George (Joan) Smith of Heart’s Content; sister-in-law Mary (Chesley Warren) of St. John’s and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Levi and Margaret Smith of New Perlican; brother William; sisters: Louise (Willis Pinhorn) and Gertrude (Carl Freeman). The family offers special thanks to Dr. Nigel Duguid and the nursing staff of St. Clare’s Coronary Care Unit for the exceptional medical and gentle care which they provided. Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday, August 23rd from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with cremation to follow. In thanksgiving for his life the Funeral Eucharist will take place from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, St. Clare Avenue on Saturday, August 25th at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev’d. Chris Snow officiating. Interment to take place at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. LEMOINE, Nathan
March 29, 1920 - August 27, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nathan LeMoine announces his passing on Monday, August 27, 2007 at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s at the age of 87 years. Born in Rose Blanche, NL, Nathan was the son of the late Phillip and Jessie LeMoine, he is also predeceased by his brother, Gerald. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving wife of 65 years, Joyce, St. John’s; daughters, Jacqueline (Jack) Jesty, Ottawa; Phyllis (Donnie) Horwood, Harbour Le Cou and son, Keith (Lucy) LeMoine, St. John’s; five grandsons, two great-grandsons and two great-great-granddaughters; brothers, Ken (Mable) LeMoine, Port aux Basques; Wilfred (Fan) LeMoine, Rose Blanche; sisters, Hazel (Reg) Ringer, Labrador City, Ruby (Gerald) Billard, Glace Bay, Virginia (Cecil) Macleod, North Sydney and Bethina (Jack) Hill, Port aux Basques, as well as a large circle of friends. Visitation took place Wednesday and Thursday at St. Michael’s and All Angels Church in Rose Blanche. Funeral services took place on Friday, August 31, 2007, 2 p.m. at St. Michael’s and All Angels Church in Rose Blanche, officiated by Rev. A. Nussey. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.
