FARRELL Sr., Maxwell Thomas
1937 - 2019
April 23, 1937 - April 01, 2019

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Maxwell Thomas Farrell Sr. announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Monday, April 1st, 2019, with his daughter by his side, at the age of 81 years. Born in Port aux Basques, Max was the son of the late Albert and Violet Farrell (nee Organ). He was also predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Blanche and Matthew Hardy (nee Spencer); infant son Kenneth Farrell; brothers George (Nina) Farrell, Keltie (Fanny) Farrell; sister Zenith Sheaves; brothers-in-law Howard Shears, Alex Hardy, Kenneth Sweet, Clyde Buttery, Ran Hardy and Jackie Hardy.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife Mary Farrell (nee Hardy) of 59 years; sons Tony (Georgina) Farrell of Corner Brook, Max Jr (Kathy) Farrell of Dartmouth, NS; daughter Vanda (Terry) Anderson of Port aux Basques; grandchildren Matthew (Roxanne) Farrell of Eastern Passage, NS, Heather (Roy) MacDonald of Port aux Basques, Spencer Farrell of Dartmouth, NS and his pride and joy Ethan Anderson of Port aux Basques; great-grandchildren Jacob, Charlotte, Mathieu, Miguel; sisters Helen Shears of St. John's, Nora (Reg) Cantwell of Corner Brook; sisters-in-law Winnie Buttery and Jean Hardy both of Port aux Basques, Eileen Hardy of Halifax, NS; caregivers Sherry Savory and Roxanne Strickland, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Max was devoted to his family and always put them first. In recent years you could always find him sitting at his computer, looking at family photos or checking the latest Facebook updates. He loved a good barbeque or big breakfast and enjoyed relaxing in the sun with his wife by his side listening to music on a nice summer day. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be forever missed.
Special thanks to Dr. Ryan and the staff at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre, especially during these past three years when his health has been deteriorating. He truly appreciated your care and kindness. We would also like to thank their wonderful neighbours Jim and Doreen Lane for everything they have done for Mom and Dad through these past few years in particular. Extra special thanks to Sherry Savory for so many things we can't even begin to list. Without the peace of mind Dad had knowing you were with Mom, this day would have come so much sooner. You have always gone above and beyond and you continue to do so. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
In keeping with Max's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation taking place on Thursday, April 4th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. (Grand Bay Location).
