BUTTON, NINA SUSANNA
May 2, 1943 - April 14, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nina Button (nee Sheaves) announces her passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on April 14, 2017 at the age of 73 years. Nina was the daughter of the late Harold & Rebecca Sheaves. She was predeceased by her husband Richard in 1991, infant brother Gerald, mother and father-in-law Mary & Phillip Button, brothers and sisters-in-law Clifford (Olive) Button, Oscar Button, Harold Gosse, Lillian Musseau and Grace Sheaves. Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories are her children Richard (Brenda) Button Winnipeg MB, and Brian (Shirley) Button Port aux Basques. A loving grandmother and great grandmother, Nina will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren Joshua, Terri-Lynn (Jordon) Hautzinger, Jared, and precious great granddaughter Keelyn. She will forever remain in the hearts of her sisters and brothers Freda Gosse Moncton NB, Harold George (Eva) Sheaves Port aux Basques, Claude (Brenda) Sheaves Burgeo, Lorne (Betty) Sheaves Port aux Basques, Frank (Carol) Sheaves St. Andrew's, Wayne Sheaves (Sonia) Mount Pearl NL, Glen (Lorna) Sheaves Port aux Basques. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Rose (Ron) Stirling Mount Moriah NL, Bridget Button Port aux Basques and Annie Pike Oakville ON, brother-in-law Jim Musseau Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many special friends including Curtis and Cindy Butt and their boys who were like Nina's second family. Visitation took place on Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. Funeral services took place on Monday, April 17 at 2 pm, from St. James Anglican Church, Channel with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating, interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Nina may be made to Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre Foundation. GREEN, Melita
December 25, 1928 - April 15, 2017

As a family counts its blessings, we are reminded of the many special people in our family that have made us who we are today. The greatest of these blessings is surely the time that we have been given to spend with the most wonderful person that God has given us, our mother. How fortunate we have been to have been loved by this wonderful lady, on April 15, 2017 our lives were changed forever when our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and most of all friend Melita Green aged 88 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Born at Parson's Harbour, Melita was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Symes. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Green on October 19, 1997, sons; Alexander Green, Roy Green, daughter Ada Blanche Green, granddaughter Donna Mae Skinner and grandson Keith Skinner. Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories are her children; Rita Mae Skinner (Allan) Port aux Basques, Joan Durnford (Clayton) Rose Blanche, Jean Young (Sidney) Port aux Basques, Edna Savoury (Gerald) Burnt Islands, James Green (Viola) Lunenburg NS, Edith Ford (Lloyd), Shirley Sheaves (Dan) all of Port aux Basques, Anne Green Edmonton Alberta. She will be fondly remembered by her 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grand children, two great great grandchildren, daughter in law Sharon Green and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends including the staff and residents at Mountain Hope Manor. Visitation took place on Monday April 17, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Home. Funeral services took place on Tuesday April 18, 2 pm at St. James Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Rev. Marlene Harvey, interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. April 20, 1957 - April 25, 2017

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of the late John Charles Hann announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on April 27, 2017 at the age of 60 years surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his father John Hann, sister Carol Ann, father in law William Harvey, sister in law Denise. He leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories his wife Brenda of 27 years, his children Jeffrey (Mary Ann) Hann Labrador City NL, Aleshia (Winston) Bryan Burnt Islands NL, Jasmine (Shane) Hann and Tiffany (Angus) Hann all of Isle aux Morts NL, precious grandchildren Dalton, Abby, Daniel, Jaxson, Anna, Malcolm, Allie, Casey and Tucker and his special companion his puppy Zoey. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rosena Janet Kendall announces her peaceful passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on April 3, 2017 at the age of 78 years. Born in Port aux Basques, Rosena was the daughter of the late Thomas and Frances Lomond. She was predeceased by her husband James Edward Kendall, son Clifford "JJ" Kendall, granddaughter Glenda, stepsister Lucy Kettle, brothers and sisters in law Jean Donaldson, Andrew Kendall, David Kendall, Basil Kendall and Florence Shears. She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories her children Lou (Lena) Lomond, Brenda (Leonard) Pike all of Port aux Basques NL, Emmanuel Kendall Moncton NB, Albert (Inez) Kendall Port aux Basques NL, Harriett (Glenn) Seaward Airdrie AB, Janet (John) Skinner, John (Marlene) Kendall and Charlie (Sherri) Kendall all of Port aux Basques NL, 15 precious grandchildren and five great grandchildren whom she adored. She will also remain in the hearts of her brothers and sister Gerald (Nellie) Lomond, Freeman Lomond, John (Nina) Lomond and Winnie Lomond all of Port aux Basques NL, her brother in law Bob (Barb) Kendall of the Codroy Valley NL, sisters in law Ellen Kendall and Audrey Kendall, special friend Gertie Skinner, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, and extended family. Rosena also leaves behind a large circle of friends at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre Long Term Care Unit where she resided for many years that she thought the world of and whom she cared deeply for as if they were her own family. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched throughout the years. Visitation took place on Wednesday, April 5 and Thursday, April 6 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm from East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Friday, April 7 at 2 pm from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Grand Bay with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Interment to follow at St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Trans-Canada Highway. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Rosena may be made to the family. It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Henry Kendell announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre on April 5, 2017 at the age of 63 years. Born in Milltown, John was the son of the late John & Nora Kendell. He was also predeceased by his brothers George and Wilson, sisters Josephine and Mildred, nephew John Corey Kendell, niece Elaine Pearce, brothers-in-law Wilson and John, sister-in-law Mildred, mother and father-in-law Abie & Sadie Walters, sister-in-law Forence Walters, great niece Nikkita Pearce and great nephew Travis McNeil. He leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories his wife Christina of 43 years, his only son David (Gail) Kendell, precious grandchildren Kayla (Corey) Cornish and Alexis Legge and great granddaughter Madison Cornish all of Fort McMurray AB. He will forever remain in the hearts of his brothers and sisters Eric (Marjorie) Kendell, Claude Kendell, Wesley (Margurite) Kendell, Leo (Genevieve) Kendell, Gerald (Rose) Kendell, Ken (Linda) Kendell, Bessie Pearce, Sandra Kendell, and Goldie (Terry) Kettle, brothers and sisters-in-law Calvin Walters, Sis (Norman) Patey, Irene McNeil, special friend Bob Blackmore who carried John to his doctors appointments and went above and beyond for John. You were truly an amazing friend and an angel on earth, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and extended family. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. OSMOND, PHILIP THOMAS
July 30, 1937 - April 25, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Philip Thomas Osmond announces his passing on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center at the age of 79 years. Born in Mouse Island, Phil was the son of the late William and Berthina (Tannie) Osmond. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years Beulah on December 1, 2016. Also, predeceased by his grandson Christopher, sisters; Margaret Osmond and Rose Young. Brother in Laws; Richard, Gerald, Jack (Phoebe), Sister in law; Jean Amsbough. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories his children Brian (Eileen) of the Codroy Valley, Vernon (Sherry) of Eastern Passage, NS, Debbie (Shawn) Seaward of Lower Sackville, NS, Diane (Gordon) Russell of Oromocto, NB. Phil will forever remain in the hearts of his grandchildren; Graham, Jeffrey, Joanne, Tyler, Kyle, Evan, Alexa and Darin. Sisters; Nellie (Gerald) Lomond and Evelyn (Roland) Kettle, brothers Alex (Karen) Osmond, Jerry (Susie) Osmond, Charlie (Jessie) Osmond all of Port aux Basques, John (Sarah) Osmond of Searston, Ron (Mary) Osmond of Kingston NS, Arch (Ann) Osmond of Florence NS, Ralph (Dulcie) Osmond of Lewin's Cove NL, Wilson (Winetta) Osmond of Sarnia ON. Brother in law; Gordon (Geraldine) Osmond, of Port aux Basques. A large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends especially Bill Durnford and Carol Anne Reid. Daily, Phil had been fortunate to be in the loving care of Evelyn and Roland, his buddy Melissa Short, Liz Lawrence, Dr. Matt Ryan and the staff of the Long Term Care Unit at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center. During his lifetime Phil had touched the lives of many people through his community involvement and 30 years of Scouting in Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia, he was truly a gift to everyone. During the time he lived away he cherished his summers at the cabin in MacDougall's Beach from 1979 until recently. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Long Term Care Unit at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre or the Alzheimer's Association. Visitation took place on Saturday April 29 and Sunday April 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Monday, May 1, 11 am at St. James Anglican Church, Channel, officiated by Rev. Marlene Harvey, interment to follow at a later date. OSMOND, VIOLA GURTRUDE (NEE SEAWARD)
(March 1, 1947- April 25, 2017)

On, Tuesday, April 25 2017 Viola Gurtrude Osmond (70) passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre surrounded by her loving family. Born in Channel Port aux Basques, NL she was one of four daughters of the late James (Frances) Seaward. Viola spent a good many years of her life at T.J Hardy Co. Port aux Basques, NL and later became the Co owner of Ocean Spray Shipping. Port aux Basques, NL. She was predeceased by her father James Seaward; mother Frances Seaward; mother and father-in-law Clifford (Gladys) Osmond Sr.; sister Shirley (Berkley) Hann; sisters in law Clarice Pink, Joan Seaward, and Sharon Seaward; her brother in law Clifford Osmond Jr.; niece Rhonda Seaward; nephew Jason Seaward. Leaving to mourn with loving and precious memories her husband of 52 years Lloyd Osmond Sr., and loving family; brothers William (Audrey) Seaward, Maxwell (Eleanor) Seaward, Robert Seaward, and Eric (Lora) Seaward; sisters Phyllis (Robert) Cox, and Donna-Lee (Lloyd) McGuire; her two sons Paul (Jennifer) Osmond, Lloyd Osmond Jr., (Tracy) and her daughter Teanne Osmond (Justin); grandchildren River Osmond, Roman Taylor and Andrew Osmond; brothers in law Harvey (Shirley) Osmond and Stan (Ada) Osmond, and a large circle of cousins and many friends. A special thank you to her husband Lloyd Osmond Sr., for all the loving care and support given her during their 52 years of marriage and especially for the past four months. A big thank you to Dr. Ryan and the nursing staff at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre for their loving care and encouragement. Visitation took place on Wednesday, April 26 from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, April 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle in Grand Bay from where the funeral service took place on place on Friday, April 28, 2 p.m. officiated by Pastor Tyrone Ball, interment followed at the Faith Pentecostal Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Viola can be made to Daffodil Place.
