REID, Henry Nathan
Codroy
February 9, 1930 - April 2, 2004

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of the late Henry Reid announce his passing at his residence in Codroy on Friday, April 2, 2004 in his 74th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his wife, Ruth (Kendell) and his two daughters, Kim Dowding (Scott), Port aux Basques and Carolyn Aucoin (Darrin), Tompkins and his two grandchildren, Rebecca and Brady; brothers, Cecil (Joanne), Smithers, BC, Hubert (Donna), Mississauga, Ont. and Tom (Peggy), Millville; sisters, Winnie Hickey Corner Brook, Mildred Parsons, Jeffreys, Thelma (Paul), Shaughnessy, Mississauga, Ont., Addie (Vince) Fiander and Marion (Ralph) Fiander both of Woodville; special cousin, Freeman Reid (Olive), Codroy; sisters-in-law, Margaret Reynolds (New Hampshire), Joyce MacArthur (Woodville) and brothers-in-law, Winston, Lewis and Lawrence Kendell (Woodville) and a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He will also be dearly missed by close family and friends, Albert and Doretta Samms, Codroy, Joan and Wilson Osmond, Doyles and Clarys Wall, Cape Anguille. He is predeceased by his parents, Clement and Annie Reid (Janes); sister, Audrey; sister-in-law, Thelma Reid; brothers-in-law, Rhoady Hickey and Ellis Parsons; niece, Patricia Hickey; father and mother-in-law, Frank and Ada Kendell (Penny). Visitation took place on April 3 and 4 at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. The funeral service was held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy on Monday, April 5 at 2 p.m. with Rev. E. Smith, Father G. Patry and Rev. G. Critchell (organist) officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Flowers were gratefully accepted and donations were made to charity of one's choice. Funeral service was entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. The family guest book may be signed through our web site www.fillatre.ca

BAILEY, Marie
1937-2004

Passed away suddenly in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Monday April 05, 2004, Marie Bailey of Port aux Basques at the age of 66 years. Born in Grand Falls-Windsor, she was the daughter of the late John and Lillian Cave. She was predeceased by her sister, Margarite; brothers, Bill, Arthur, Gordon, Mardon, Harold, Jack and grandson, Blaine MacArthur; brothers-in-law, Louis Bailey and Wilfred Bailey. She leaves to mourn with fond memories her loving husband, Malcolm, after 47 years of marriage. Ten children, Joan (Allan) MacArthur of Codroy Valley, NL, Bill (Dee Dee) Bailey of Massett, BC, Carmel (Roland) Short, Guy (Donna) Bailey, all of Port aux Basques; Wayne Bailey, Dennis (Carol) Bailey, Linda (Dan) Pitcher all of Guelph, Ont., Chris (Jackie) Bailey of Edmonton, Alta., Paulette (Ronnie) Buttery of Halifax, NS and Brian Bailey of Deer Lake, NL; nineteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sister, Ethel Crann of Toronto, Ont.; brothers-in-law, Harvey (Alma) Bailey, Robert (Joyce) Bailey, Junior (Marion) Bailey all of Grand Falls-Windsor; sisters-in-law, Eliza (Bob) Pike of Lewisporte, NL and Jean (Peter) Frymark of Barrie, Ont. and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation took place on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2004 at Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle in Grand Bay, officiated by Pastor Craig Lane. Interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery Trans-Canada Highway, Port aux Basques. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

CURRIE, Lillian Jane
1959-2004

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Monday, April 5, 2004. Lillian Jane Currie of Port aux Basques at the age of 44 years. Born in Kentville, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Ida Gilliam of Port aux Basques. She leaves to mourn with fond memories her loving husband, James, of 16 years marriage; and four children, Michelle (Bob), James of Port aux Basques, Jamie (Michael), Wade (Nancy) of Petawawa, Ont.; brothers, John (Emma) Gilliam, Gordon (Sharon) Gilliam of Oromocto, NB; one sister, Karen Gilliam of Rue Noranda, Que. and a large circle of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Special friends, Sandra and Frank Spencer, Jackie and Ernest Hardy, Janet and Boyd Osmond, plus a long list of other special people in Lillian's life that are too numerous to mention individually. Visitation took place on Monday from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2004 at St. James' Anglican Church, Channel, officiated by Rev. Hugh Fudge and Rev. Joan Shave. Interment followed at St. James' Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 659-2300.

LERICHE, Alice M.
(1919-2004)

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Thursday, April 29, Alice Matilda LeRiche of Port aux Basques at the age of 84 years. Born in Port aux Basques, she was the daughter of the late George and Dorcas LeRiche. She leaves to mourn with fond memories her three sisters, Dora (Eric) Mullins, Daisey Hann of Port aux Basques, Dulcie Hoskins of Halifax, Nova Scotia; one brother, Clifford (Bernice) LeRiche of Saint John, New Brunswick; special friends, Donna and Lilly Blackmore, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Albert and Israel LeRiche; sister, Florence; sister-in-law, Gertie LeRiche; brothers-in-law, Frank Hoskins and Doug Hann. Visitation took place on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2004 at St. James' Anglican Church, Channel, officiated by Rev. Hugh Fudge. Passed away at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Friday, April 30, Eva B. Anderson at the age of 81 years. Born in Bay d'Espoir, NL, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Cribb) Buffet. She leaves to mourn with fond memories, her husband, John, of 59 years marriage; and five children, Sylvia (Albert) Osmond, Jim (Diane) Anderson, Linda (Don) Eustace of Port aux Basques, Jane (Gord) Lawrence of Gander, NL and Diane Froude of Vancouver, BC; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Cherry Buffet of Bay d'Espoir, NL; brothers-in-law, Arthur (Elsie) Anderson, Bert (Mary) Anderson, and Gerald (Kay) Anderson of Port aux Basques; sisters-in-law, Ethyl Young of Stephenville, NL, Eileen Anderson of Port aux Basques and Lillian (Clyde) Cribb of Alberta. She was predeceased by her great-granddaughter, Amber Osmond; brother, James Buffet; mother and father-in-law, Jane and Howard Anderson; brothers-in-law, Hewitt, Charles, Lewellyn Anderson and Matthew Young; sister-in-law, Irene Anderson; son-in-law, Carl Froude. Visitation took place on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2004 at St. James' Anglican Church, Port aux Basques, officiated by Rev. Hugh Fudge. Interment followed at the St. James' Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, Trans Canada Highway, Port aux Basques. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.
