Bridget Allen (nee Walsh)
July 7, 1946 in Coachman’s Cove, Newfoundland, there began an adventure with the birth of a sweet child who grew into a beautiful, loving, and graceful woman, mother, and grandmother. Bridget Allen passed away on October 7, 2011 in Vancouver, B.C. - her spirit and soul free to dance through new adventures. She leaves behind many who cherish shared moments and memories, her son Duane Allen, daughter Amber Allen (Paul Girodo), spirited granddaughter Ariel Girodo, and many close family and friends. Her positive energy and joy brought warmth and happiness to all those around her. A truly pleasant and gentle soul, she will be missed dearly. Spoken in her own words: "Life is so amazing and precious, live in the moment, be grateful, be gentle and loving with yourself, and enjoy the dance."

AUSTIN, Marion
Born: April 11th, 1946
Passed on: October 7th, 2011
Passed peacefully away on October 7, 2011 at the Central NL Regional Health Center, Marion Austin of Grand Falls Windsor. She was 65 years of age. She was predeceased by her husband, Sterling and brother, Stan Froude. She leaves to mourn her son, Albert (Marie); daughters, Denise (Steve), Louise (Bill), Juanita (James). Also leaving to mourn are her sisters, Eileen and Adline; brothers, Russell and Don; eight grand-children; two grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Robert Parsons conducted funeral services at the Windsor Pentecostal Church on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011. Interment was at the Windsor Pentecostal cemetery. BARRY, Thomas

It is with sadness that the families of the late Thomas Patrick Barry announce his passing on October 19, 2011 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, aged 79. Thomas is predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Mary; brothers, Maurice, Andrew, and Raymond. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Lucy; sons, Glenn (Jeannie) of St. John's NL, André (Joan) of Musgrave Harbour, NL; grandchildren, Christa of Calgary, AB, and Justine of St. John's NL; brothers, Francis (Ruby), Bill, Lawrence (Cathy), and Joseph (Glenys); sisters, Louise Moyles, and Kathleen (Bill) Saunders; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. -Passed peacefully away at The Glenbrook Lodge on Oct. 10th 2011 Mrs. Beatrix Bartlett, aged 89 years. Predeceased by her husband Harry, her parents William and Annie Thompson, brothers Bramwell, Harry and Thurl, son-in-law David Sills. Passed peacefully away at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre, Botwood, on October 4, 2011, after a short illness, Elmo Rickey Brenton of Peterview. He was 62 years of age. He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Maggie; sister, Hazel; sister-in-law, Linda Brenton. He leaves to mourn his daughter, Paige Pope; sister, Florence (Benson) Keefe; brothers, William, Hector, Jim (Blanche), Richard, Woodrow (Louise), Andrew (Flossie) and a circle of other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away on October 7, 2011 at the Carmelite House, after a courageous battle with cancer, David Francis Cooke of Bishop’s Falls. He was 65 years of age. Mr. Cooke retired from Construction work in 2008. He was prede-ceased by his parents, William and Mary Cooke; brother, Alfred; sisters, June Osbourne, Margaret Cooke; brother-in-law, Mark Driscoll and Gerry Carter. He leaves to mourn and will be dearly missed by his wife, Marilyn; sons, Jody (Catherine), David (Richa); daughters, Natasha (Rob Tubrett), Angelique (Tristen) Abbott. EVANS, Harry

It is with sadness that the family of the late Harry Oake Evans announce his passing at the CNRHC in Grand Falls-Windsor on Oct 18, 2011 at the age of 93. Harry retired from the Dept. of Highways. He leaves with fond and loving memories his wife, Ethel; sons, David (Denise) of Charlottetown, PE, Andrew "Buck" and Barry both of Grand Falls-Windsor, Brian (Candace) of Montague, PE; daughters, Doreen of Vancouver; Sandra (Alex) and Eileen both of Cambridge, ON. Also leaving to mourn are his brother, Angus (Marion), 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The family will hold a visitation at Central Funeral Homes Chapel to remember Harry's life. Passed peacefully away after a brief illness on Oct. 23, 2011 surrounded by family at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Centre, Robert Fagan of Cottrell's Cove. He was 81 years of age. Mr. Fagan retired from Abitibi-Price in 1991 and was a member of the Carpe-nters and Joiners Union. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Phoebe Fagan; sisters, Mary and Lillian; brother, Kenneth. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Rita of 55 years; sons, Kenneth (Rhonda), Terry, Murray (Darline), Barry (Arlene), Keith; daughters, Madonna and Barbara. Passed peacefully away on October 4, 2011 at the Carmelite House, J. Beatrice Healey of Grand Falls-Windsor. She was 98 years of age. Mrs. Healey was a long-time member of The Order of the Royal Purple. She was predeceased by her parents, Abraham and Margaret Pritchett; brothers, Martin & Lester; sisters, Mabel Pardy, Susie Wilcox; her husband, Philip James Healey; son, Lester; daughters-in-law, Kathleen (Kit) Healey, Gerri Healey. - Peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family at home on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the age of 63 years. Son of the late Eric and Margret (nee Collins) Kearsey. Beloved husband of Lucie Kearsey (nee Poirier) of Levack. Loving father of Kelley Hopps, Michelle Proulx (Rob), Thomas Kearsey (Jenny) all of Cobourg, On and Jody Cabrera (Jonathan) of Windsor. Cherished step-father of Genevieve Laurin (P.J.) and Sophie Laurin (Stephen) both of Sudbury. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his grand-children Ariah, Mikayla, Brianna, Gillian, Kaylee, Miguel, Jullian, Coraleigh, Kaylen, Kassidy, Trinity and Ean. Dear brother of Carol-Ann Steile (John), Judy Lee (Fred), Sean Kearsey (Bev) all of Newfoundland, David Kearsey of Toronto, Danny Kearsey (Diane) of Spanish and Shelagh Kearsey (Gary) of Brampton. Sadly missed by Joan DeJode special friend and mother of Mike's four children. He will also be missed by his best friend of 45 years Jo-Ann Pardy and by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. KING, Mary (Fran)

Mary Frances (Fran) King
passed away tragically in a car accident in Grand Falls, NL on Oct 3rd, 2011. She leaves behind her sister, Marguerite Kohut of Edmonton; sister-in-law, Margaret King of Grand Falls-Windsor; a very special friend, Mel Burt of Grand Falls-Windsor; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Dora and Samuel King; brother, Harry King; sister, Daisy Hillier. Fran was born in Grand Falls on May 3rd, 1926, and moved to Toronto in 1948 to work. Eventually she returned back to Grand Falls in 1974. She was actively engaged in the Anglican Church, loved to sing in the choir, and enjoyed sewing and knitting for family and friends. Fran was always a very independent person, and was very fortunate to have found a soul mate with Mel Burt late in her life. We know she truly enjoyed her time with Mel and it was obvious that this relationship meant very much to her. It truly gave her the will to live her life to the fullest during her last years. We were very blessed to have had Fran in our lives and for those who had the opportunity to get to know her, realized that she was a very special person in so many ways and will be truly missed. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eva Patricia McDonald (nee Duke) announce her passing at Lakeside Homes in Gander, NL on October 2, 2011 at the age of 86 years. Eva was predeceased by her husband Charles in 1975; infant daughters, Elizabeth (1947), and Rose Marie (1949); and son-in-law Joseph Sutton (2009). Left with fond and loving memories are her sons, Jack (Barb) of Grand Falls-Windsor; Ron (Judy) of Oakville, ON; Dennis of Guelph, ON; and daughter, Linda Sutton of Gander. NICHOLS, Eileen

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eileen Pearl Nichols announce her passing at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor on Oct. 16, 2011 at the age of 82. Eileen received commendation from the Kidney Found-ation of Canada for her volunteer work with them. She was also a member of the Embroi-dery Guild, held an avid interest in hockey, figure skating, and loved to spend time at Badger Lake with her family and friends. Eileen was predeceased by parents, Stanley and Sandra Jane Bursey; brother, Gerald; sisters, Vera Bauld, Beatrice Cooper, Joyce Bursey, Nita Stockley; and grandson, Christopher. PURCHASE, Pastor Sylvia

Passed peacefully away on October 25, 2011 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Centre, Pastor Sylvia Maude Purchase of Botwood. She was 88 years of age. Mrs. Purchase retired from pastoral ministry and was a member of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland & Labrador. She was predeceased by her husband, Pastor L.P. Purchase; son, Keith; brother, Elijah Freake; sister, Laura Luscombe. She leaves to mourn her sons, Bruce (Louise), Wayne (Donna) and Glenn (Pansy). Passed peacefully away on October 8, 2011 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Center after a short illness, Vina Mary Thorne. She was 90 years of age. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard; parents, Christina and Daniel Cooper; brother, Wilson; sisters, Nellie Hitchcock and Priscilla Sampson. She leaves to mourn her sons, Melvin (Joan), Gerald (Linda); daughter, Geraldine (Doug) Knight. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert Joseph (Bob) Winslow announce his passing at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor on October 5, 2011 at the age of 81 years. Bob was a member of Knights of Columbus. He retired from Abitibi. Predeceased by his parents, George and Bridget; brothers, George Jr. (Bus), James, and Bill; sisters, Marjorie Skomorucha, Elizabeth, and Sheila Duffenais. Bob leaves with fond and loving memories his wife, Helene; sons, Allan (Kim) of Moncton; and daughter, Maureen (Kerry) Whyte of Ottawa. Also leaving to mourn are his brother, Harold (Ellen); sister, Frances (Allan) Spruin; sister-in-law, Bride; nieces, nephews, and a large circle of family and friends. Fr. William Hearn conducted the funeral mass at Cathedral of Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday, October 8, 2011. Interment followed at the Interfaith cemetery on Union Street.
