BOONE, Dexter - Passed away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 Dexter Boone age 80 years of Paradise (formerly of Point of Bay and Botwood). Predeceased by his much loved son, Jim (Oct 15, 2009); parents, Arch and Stella Boone; mother and father-in-law, Beatrice and Carl Edison; sisters, Clarabelle Boone, Phyllis Simmons (Bob) and Nina Aitkin (John); brothers, Ambrose and Overton and brother-in-law, Max Edison. Leaving to mourn his wife of 53 years, Shirley; daughter, Marilyn (Bruce Tilley); sons, Brian (Marilyn Masiker) and Greg; daughter-in-law, Carol; grandchildren, Rebecca and Jackson Tilley, Jeremy (Alexis) and Alex Boone and sister, Lorraine (Garfield Collins). Also left with fond and loving memories are his brother-in-law, Carl Edison; sisters-in-law, Bertha Gardner, Daphne Dowden, Doris Best, Yvonne Brazil (Gerald), Pat Coles (Rod), Phronie Lush (Cec), Chloe French (Dave), Linda Keays (Jim Walsh) as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Rested at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Friday, October 23, 2009 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Service was from Caul's Chapel on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment followed at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimers Society.

BRENTON, Richard - Passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre on Sunday, October 4, age 88 years, Richard Brenton of Norris Arm. Leaving to mourn are his wife, Verbena; two sons, Lewis (Eileen) and Gerald (Sandra); five daughters, Helen (Lester), Catherine, Joan, May (Tom) and Marion (Don); 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 7 at 2 p.m. from the Pentecostal Church, Norris Arm. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Salvation Army YP Hall will be gratefully accepted.

BUDGELL, Goldie - Passed peacefully away on Oct. 14, 2009 at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Care Centre, Twillingate, NL, Goldie Budgell in her 87 year. Goldie grew up in Exploits, Notre Dame Bay and in 1940 married Thomas Budgell. Together they raised three sons and in 1959 moved to Windsor, NL where she was employed by Brookfield Ice Cream for 16 years. She is predeceased by husband, Thomas; son, Douglas; father, Albert Snelgrove; mother, Bessie Dove; step-father, George Dove; brother, Terry Snelgrove; grandson, Monston Budgell, and granddaughter, Kimberly Budgell. Goldie was a long standing member and soldier of the Salvation Army Park Street Citadel. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are two sons, Gordon (Rose) Budgell of Brampton, ON, Wayne (Patricia) Budgell of Twillingate, NL; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and brother, Ray Snelgrove; as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral service took place Oct. 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Park Street Citadel, Grand Falls-Windsor, with Majors Owen and Sharon Rowsell officiating. Interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Caribou Road, Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers were sons, Wayne Budgell, Gordon Budgell; grandsons, Kenneth Parsons, Andrew Budgell; granddaughter, Sherri-Lynn Bolduc; great-grandson, Jacob Leila. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor.

FIFIELD, Sidney Baxter (1926-2009) - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sidney Baxter Fifield announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on October 25, 2009 at the age of 83. Sidney was a member of the Windsor Pentecostal Church in Grand Falls-Windsor. He is retired from Lynn Lake, Manitoba in 1991. Sidney is predeceased by his first wife, Ethel Burton; parents, Rose and Frank; brothers, John and Chesley; and his two children. Left with fond and loving memories are his second wife of 15 years, Dorothy; son, Wayne of Cluney, Alberta; step-sons, Wallace (Fern) Goulding of Pt. Leamington, Sherman (Judy) Goulding of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Dexter (Wendy) Goulding of Victoria, B.C., Oral (Judy) Goulding of Labrador City, NL, David (Cindy) Goulding of Acton, ON, Bruce (Ann) Goulding of Acton, ON; daughter, Marilyn (Henry) Sheen of Winnipeg, MB, step-daughter, Daphne (Pastor Edward Canning) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Phyllis Pilgrim (Ted) of Goose Bay, Labrador, Glenda Goulding (Marko) of Victoria, BC. Also leaving to mourn grandson, Kenneth (Mary); sister, Myrtle Byrne; brothers, Wilfred and Gordon, along with a large circle of friends and family. Pastor William Cole conducted the funeral service at the South Brook Pentecostal Church on October 30, 2009 at 2:00p.m. Interment was at the South Brook Pentecostal Cemetery.

FOLEY, Rita - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rita Foley announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre on October 24, 2009 at the age of 76 years. Rita was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish in Bishop's Falls. She is predeceased by her husband, Josh Foley. Left with fond and loving memories are sons, Josh (Rita) of Medicine Hat, AB, Mike (Debbie) of Edmonton, AB; and daughter, Ann Marie (Tim) of Calgary, AB. Also left to mourn are sisters, Tilley and Mary; the Hynes Family (Shirley, Jerome and children); as well as grandchildren, Olwyn, Rhian, Sean, Julia, Wyatt and Daniel; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Father Linus Coady conducted the funeral mass at the Sacred Heart Church on October 27, 2009 with internment at Mount Patricia Cemetery in Corner Brook. Pallbearers were Jerome Hynes, Shirley Hynes, Morgan Hynes, Colin Boyd and Jimmy Lannon. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.

GOODYEAR, Ralph Charles - Passed peacefully away October 8, 2009 at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor, Ralph Charles Goodyear. He was 75 years of age. Mr. Goodyear retired from Exploits Cleaning Limited. He was predeceased by his son, Craig; parents, James and Alvie. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Ida (nee, Pelley); son, Carl of Calgary; daughters, Cynthia (Craig Davis) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Trudy (David Regular) of Cambridge, ON, Janice of Guelph, ON; sisters, Ada Farr and Doreen Goodyear; brother, Vernon (Jackie); one grandson, Dean and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastors Edward Cannings and Gary Andrews will conduct Funeral Services from the Windsor Pentecostal Church in Grand Falls-Windsor on Sunday, October 11, 2009. Interment at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers are Carl and Dean Goodyear, Craig, Harold and Dave Davis and Lawrence Freake.

HAWKINS, Charles - Passed peacefully away on October 12, 2009 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, Charles (Chuck) Hawkins, formerly of Grand Bank, residing in Botwood. He was 68 years of age. Mr. Hawkins retired from TRA Nfld in 2002. Left to mourn are his wife Margaret; daughter Sherri, (fiancé Elias Anderson) of Conception Bay South; one grandson Lucas; brother, Edward (Ruth) and a large circle of relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial will follow at a later date with interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Botwood. Arrangements were by Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood.

KELLY, Michael - Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on October 19, 2009. Michael Kelly age 68 years, formerly of Bell Island. Mike was a life time member of the Knights of Columbus. Predeceased by parents, Owen and Aileen Kelly. Left with loving memories are his wife, Marie; sons, John (Elaine) of Yellowknife, NT., Michael (Wendy) of Calgary, AB.; daughter, Iris (Mike) Murphy of South Bar, NS.; brothers, Ed (Sandi), Jim (Brenda), John, Owen (Vivian), Joe; sisters, Iris (Michael) Donohoe , Ellen (Wm. Kennedy), Patricia (Wm. Dwyer) , Rose ( Vic) Soares and Peg; grandchildren, Stephen and Adam Kelly, Patrick Murphy, Nicole Kelly. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral Mass was held Thursday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Gander. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Donations in Mike's memory may be made to H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, Gander Unit. Arrangements entrusted through Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander.

LIDSTONE, Alice - Passed peacefully away on October 24, 2009 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, Alice Germaine Lidstone of Botwood. She was 74 years of age. Mrs. Lidstone retired from Shoppers Drug Mart in 1986. She was predeceased by her parents, Esaw and Naomi Sturge; brothers, Lester and Walter. Left to mourn her passing are husband, Merle; son, Merle Jr. (Terri-Lynn); granddaughter, Keira of Petawawa, ON. Also leaving to mourn are her sisters, Gaye (Charles) Ivany and Ruby Blackwood; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Wallace) Hollett and Audrey (Frank) Regular; step-brother, Milton (Joan) Peach and a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Rev. Linda Burt will conduct the funeral service at Trinity United Church, Botwood on Thursday, October 29, 2009. Interment at the United Church Cemetery, Botwood. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Homes, Botwood. Pallbearers are Terry Hancock, Myrl Regular, Claude Sheppard, Glenn Locke, Scott Blackwood and Jim Sharron. Honorary pallbearer was Merle Lidstone Jr.

LOVEMAN, Clifford - Passed away suddenly on Oct. 14, 2009, Clifford John Loveman of Leading Tickles. He was 49 years of age. Predeceased by his father, Donald. Left to mourn with fond memories are his wife, Angela; mother, Melina; brothers, Hollis (Pheobe), Roland (Lucy), Larry (Shirley), Will (Cynthia), Jarrod (Ella), Kerry; sisters, Judy (Gole), Neta (Dave); parents-in-law, Golda and Ray Guy; sister-in-law, Marcie (Dennis); a number of nephews, nieces and a large circle of other family and friends. Rev. Larry Chatman conducted funeral services at St. Nicholas Anglican Church, Leading Tickles on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009. Interment at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Leading Tickles. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Barretts Funeral Home, St. John's and Hoskins Funeral Homes, Botwood. Pallbearers were Roland Loveman, Larry Loveman, William Loveman, Jarrod Loveman, Kerry Loveman and Dennis Rowsell.

PARSONS, Mildred Gloria - It is with great sadness that the families of the late Mildred G. Parsons announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, at the age of 79. She is predeceased by her husband, Hubert; son, Jerry; parents, William and Jane Anthony; brothers, Bruce, Harold, Gerald, and Edward. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons, Charlie (Mary) and Robbie; daughters, Betty (Bernie) Goodson, Karen (Art) Stagg, Melanie (Gordon) Froude, Dana (Rod) Power; eight grandchildren, Velvet, Penny, Chrystal, Noelle, Sarah, Meghan, Melanie and A.J.; six great-grandchildren, Sean, Summer, Noah, Nathan, Lilly, and Gabriele; sisters, Ruth (Fred) Colbourne and Bernice (Lorne) Strickland; brothers, Jack (Salome) Anthony, Dawson (Grace) Anthony, Scott Anthony, Elmer (Darlene); sisters-in-law, Doreen Anthony, Pauline Anthony, and Mary Anthony. The funeral service took place Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. from the Pentecostal Church, Roberts, Arm, NL, with Pastor Robert Paddock officiating. Flowers greatly accepted as well as donations in her memory may be made to the Gideon Bible Society. Pallbearers were Art Stagg, Jim Thompson, Rod Power, Brian Casey, Warfield Mitchell, Christopher Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers were Robbie Parsons, and Jason Peddle. PAYNE, Dulcie May - Passed peacefully away October 6, 2009 at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Center in Botwood, Dulcie May Payne of Point Leamington. She was 100 years of age. She was predeceased by her husband, George; brothers, George and William Stoodley; sisters, Cecilia Cooper, Cassie Rice and Triffie Rowe. Left to mourn are her sons, John (Ruth) of Sarnia, ON, George (Betty) of Corner Brook, Arthur (Edna) of St. John's; daughters, Clemmie of Prince George, BC, Annie of Point Leamington; sister, Annie Roberts of Triton; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor J. Green will conduct Funeral Services from the Pentecostal Church in Point Leamington on Friday, October 9, 2009. Interment at the Old Pentecostal Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood. Pallbearers are her sons, John, George and Arthur; grandsons, Jeffery Payne, Craig Payne and Sean Brown.

PECKFORD, Norman (Joe) - Passed peacefully away on October 22, 2009 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center, Grand Falls-Windsor, Norman (Joe) Peckford of Bishop's Falls. He was 60 years of age. Mr. Peckford was the owner of PSP Roofing Company of Bishop's Falls for the past 30 years. Mr. Peckford was a member of the Bishop's Falls Salvation Army Corp., the Salvation Army Men's Fellowship and also coached hockey for many years. Predeceased by parents, Leo and Beatrice Peckford; infant son, Norman; brother-in-law, Marcel Lalumiere. Left to mourn with many fond and loving memories are his wife, Louise; sons, Joey, Chathan, ON; daughters, Annette (Paul), Chathan, ON, Wanda (Fred), Bishop's Falls, NL; step-sons, Christopher (Amanda), Orangeville, ON, and Jeffrey, Orangeville, ON.; seven grandchildren, Jasmine, Stephanie, Michael, Amber, Norman (TJ) (Katie), Marty and Nicholas; one great-grandson, Cole. Also leaving to mourn are his sisters, Gertie (Albert) Boone, Blanche (Dan) Sutherland, Bonnie Lalumiere, Tina (Randy) Charron and brothers, Bruce (Irene) Peckford, David Peckford, Frank (Kim) Curtis, Tony Curtis, Steven (Sheila) Curtis and a large circle of other relatives and friends. RICKETTS, Ella M. - It is with sadness that the families of the late Ella May Ricketts announce her passing at the Carmelite Senior's Citizens Home, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, aged 97 years. Predeceased by husband, John. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral service took place Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Majors Terry and Bonnie Hopkins officiating. STOODLEY, Major William (Sept. 9, 1922 - Oct. 1, 2009) - It is with sadness that the families of the late Major William Stoodley announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, aged 87 years. He is predeceased by his parents, Mark and Martha Stoodley; sisters, Cassie, Triffie, and Celia; brother, George. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Ivy; daughters, Judy Noseworthy, and Janesta (Baxter) Blake; grandson, Kerry (Judy) Saunders; granddaughter, Kim (Chad) Haggett; great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Jenna Saunder; sisters, Annie Roberts, and Dulcie Payne. The funeral service took place on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. from The Salvation Army Church, Circular Road, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, with Majors Terry and Bonnie Hopkins officiating. Interment followed at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Union Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. WALSH, James Francis - Passed peacefully away at his home in Buchans on October 21, 2009 James Francis Walsh age 78 years. Pre deceased by wife, Joan. Left with loving memories are his sons, Terry (Shirley) of Shearstown, Tom (Yvonne) of CBS, Walter (Shawnda) of Petawawa; daughters, Ann of Buchans, Margaret of Buchans, Rosemary of Bishop's Falls; brother, Raymond (Evelyn) of Brigus; sister, Mena Fowler of Clarkes Beach, Ann (Kevin) Keating of Cupids, Vera Lannon of Bishop's Falls; sister-in-law, Eileen Walsh of Cupids; grandchildren, Jamie (Belinda) of Pembroke, Patrick (Robyn) of N.B., Billy, Stephen of Bishop's Falls, Christopher and Michelle of CBS., Terry and Crystal of Shearstown, and Laurie of Petawawa; great-grandchildren, Shawn, Stephen, Savahanna, Spencer, and Madison. WALSH, Mary Jane (1917-2009) - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Jane Walsh announce her passing at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital in St. John's, on October 1, 2009, at the age of 92. Jane was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Bishop's Falls. She is predeceased by her husbands, Roy Walsh and Bart Walsh; son, Phonse; two brothers, Andy and Bern Cooke; sister, Theresa Cooke and one great-grandson. Left with fond and loving memories are sons, Terry (Patsy) of Powell River, BC; Gary (Marg) of Comax, BC; Roy (Trudy) of Dawson Creek, BC; stepsons, Ernie (Linda) and Bart (Barb) and their families of Grand Falls-Windsor; daughters, Jean (John Tremblett) of Upper Gullies, NL; and Marg (Ray Parsons) of Bishop's Falls, NL; daughter-in-law, Cora. Also leaving to mourn 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, along with a large circle of extended family and friends. Father Linus Coady conducted the funeral mass at the Sacred Heart Church on October 5, 2009. Interment was at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Bishop's Falls. Pallbearers were Neil Tremblett, John Tremblett, Sean Parsons, Terry Walsh, Ray Parsons and Marg Parsons. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.

WHEELER, Neil William - Passed suddenly away on Oct. 19, 2009 at Cornfield Lake, Neil William Wheeler of Grand Falls-Windsor. He was 52 years of age. Predeceased by parents, Appleton and Ivy Stroud; brother, Colin Wheeler; sisters, Kay Ludlow and Jean Sanger. Left to mourn are his loving wife and best friend, Sharon; sons, Shannon (Vera), Keith (Bonnie), Jason (Rebecca); three grandchildren, Haley, Kylie and Kaitlyn Wheeler. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Shirley Lane, Pauline Wheeler, Doris Wheeler, Geraldine Wheeler (Toots); brothers, Donald, Boyd and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Elizabeth Stewart conducted a family service on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Homes, Grand Falls-Windsor.
