MOLLOY, Sister Margaret

Molloy, Sister Margaret (John Cecilia)
, 87, died in the QEII Health Centre, Halifax, NS on November 7, 2015. Born in Grand Falls, Nfld. on March 13, 1928, she was the daughter of John and Alicia (Murray) Molloy. Sister Margaret entered the Sisters of Charity- Halifax on September 8, 1949 and made her final vows on August 15, 1958. Her educational background included a BA (1949) and a BLS (1953) from Mount Saint Vincent College; a MA (1966) in History from Boston College as well as a MA (1968) from the University of Windsor. In 1954, she began her teaching career in St. Brigid Home, and then in St. Patrick High School, Quebec City, where she taught and served as librarian until 1967. In that year, she was released from teaching to further her studies at the University of Windsor. As of November 1, 1968, she became Dean of Studies at MSVU and then served as Academic Dean until 1974 when she became a full-time student. She later became a History professor at MSVU until 1980. Sister Margaret became the Treasurer General of the congregation in 1980 and served in that capacity until 1988. For a year, Sister Margaret was granted permission to care for her parents in Grand Falls, Nfld. In 1989, she was made Administrator of Mount Saint Vincent Motherhouse, a position she held until 1999. She enjoyed a sabbatical year and then retired in 2000. In that year, she volunteered her services in the congregational Archives until, in 2015, her physical condition prevented her from continuing. Sister Margaret is survived by her brother, Robert, (Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.) and many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, James. We welcomed the body to Caritas Residence on Thursday evening, November 12, followed by a Prayer Service. The wake resumed at 10:30 am on Friday, November 13, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Chapel in Caritas Residence at 2 pm. Burial followed in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville, NS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of Charity Ministry Fund.

SANGER, Norman
Born In: Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
Born: January 24th, 1938
Passed in: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Passed on: November 7th, 2015

Surrounded by his family, Norman Gerald Sanger passed away at 77 years young on Saturday, November 7th, 2015 at St. Michael's Hospital after a brief illness. He was an avid hockey player until the very end, a passionate painter, a choir singer as well as a barbershopper. Norm was a man who loved to dance and celebrate. He was a fisherman, a community volunteer, a true friend to many and above all, a proud Newfoundlander. Survived by his loving wife Yvonne. Also survived by 5 of his 15 siblings, William, Nettie, Fred, Roy and Marge. Loving father of 4 sons; Tim (Mary), Gary (Karen), Bill (Carol) and Norman (Kim). Grandpa to 9 grandchildren; Vanessa (Shawn), Nicole, Natalie (Adam), Joshua, Jacob, Clayton, Marcus, Cole and Lauren. Papa to 2 great-grandchildren; Isabelle and Gabriel. Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; Timothy and Violet, by 10 of his siblings and by his infant grandson, Adam. Visitation took place at the Courtice Funeral Chapel, 1587 Highway 2, Courtice, on Friday, November 13th. A service was held at Faith United Church, 1778 Nash Rd., Courtice, on Saturday, November 14th, at 11 a.m. We would like to thank the staff at St. Michael's Hospital for their outstanding care and kindness. SIMMONS, Ernest Reginald
September 1, 1929 - November 26, 2015

Passed away after a brief illness, Ernest Reginald Simmons at the A.M. Guy Memorial Hospital, Buchans, NL on Thursday November 26, 2015 at the age of 86 years. He was predeceased by his parents Morgan & Clara Simmons, son Terry; grandson Jeremy Butt; son-in-law Michael Costello; and brother-in-law Douglas Osmond. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Audrey; son David (Brenda) of Brampton, ONT; daughters: Bonnie Costello of Orangeville, ONT, Brenda Butt (Wayne) of Springdale, NL; sister Louise Osmond; grandchildren: Angie, Terry; great grandchildren: Mikenna, Chase, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Friends may visit The Salvation Army Citadel, Buchans on Friday November 27, 2015 and on Saturday November 28, 2015, from where the funeral service will take place ono Sunday November 29, 2015 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the Buchans Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations in Ernest's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. WHITE, William
Passed peacefully away at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre, Botwood, NL on November 17, 2015 William (Bill) Joseph White at the age of 73 years. Bill was raised in Norris Arm, NL. Throughout his life, with the exception of his love of flying, all his defining passions centered around working hard, being committed, reliable, responsible and taking care of his family, employees and those he considered his closest friends. Central Ready Mix and Central Precast stand today as a testament to his vision and life's' journey. He was predeceased by his parents Bertram & Susan, and brother Jim. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Linda White; daughter Shelley (Greg) Woolfrey of Grand Falls-Windsor; son Stephen of Norris Arm; brothers: Jerry (Hilda), Tom (Joanne) both of Gander, NL, Jack (Ann), Frank, Pat (Florence), Reg all of Norris Arm, NL; sisters: Betty (Herbert) Saunders, Loretta (Frank) Beaton, Annette (Bruce) Brown all of Norris Arm, NL; grandchildren Jordan and Alex Woolfrey, Keegan White, also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on Friday November 20, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Norris Arm. In keeping with William's wishes cremation to follow and interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Lionel Kelland House Hospice in trust to Rotary Club of Grand Falls-Windsor, P.O.
