BARRINGTON, Monica
1957 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Monica Barrington announce her passing in Grand Falls-Windsor, on May 28, 2014 at the age of 56 years. Monica is predeceased by her father Thomas Barrington, and brother James (Jim) Barrington. Left with fond and loving memories is her husband Jim Lane, and daughter Kayla (Allan) Johnson of St. John's, NL. Also leaving to mourn is mother Hannah Barrington; sisters: Anne (Dave), Marion (Ed), Donna (Randy); brothers Felix and Tom (Joyce); and sister-in-law Gloria Hurley. Father Hanson-Mensah will conduct the funeral service at the Sacred Heart Church in Badger, NL, on June 2, 2014 at 11:00am. Interment will be at the Millertown Community Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Mike Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.

BOONE, Ronald Joseph
1946-2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ronald Joseph Boone announce his passing at his home in Buchans Junction on May 15, 2014 at the age of 67. Ronald was predeceased by his parents Bennett Boone and Elsie Boone. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Rose, sons Ron Boone Jr. of Corner Brook, and Dale (Trina) Quirk of Buchans. Also leaving to mourn are grandchildren Lindsay, Matthew, & Lisa Quirk. The funeral will be conducted at St. Anne's Church in Buchans Junction on May 17, 2014. Interment will be at the Buchans Community Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment and Mike Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.

BOWERS, SANDRA EDWINA (PINSENT)
1948 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sandra Bowers announce her passing at the Green Bay Health Center in Springdale on May 20, 2014 at the age of 65. Sandra was a member of the Salvation Army Home League. She was predeceased by her parents, James & Pearl Pinsent; brothers and sisters. Left with fond and loving memories is her husband of 48 years, Lloyd; sons- Lindsay & family of Alberta, Lawrence (Deanna) of Alberta, Perry (Cie-Anne) of Newfoundland; daughters- Angelia & family of Ontario, Inez (Shawn) of Alberta, Elsie (Randy) of Ontario, Lisa (Owen) of Saskatchewan and Amanda (Wesley) of Newfoundland. Also leaving to mourn are her 2 brothers, 3 sisters, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Majors Rex & Catherine Paddock will conduct the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in King's Point on Sunday, May 25, 2014. Interment will be at the Interfaith Cemetery in King's Point. Pallbearers are Lawrence Bowers, Elsie McDonnell, Inez Boyd, Laura Bowers, Amanda Bowers and Perry Bowers.
Sandra was born to James and Pearl Pinsent of Brighton on June 17th, 1948. She moved to Springdale at the age of 16 where she met the love of her life, Lloyd Bowers of King's Point. They were married on June 17, 1966 and together they shared 48 wonderful years. They welcomed and raised 8 children and 1granddaughter. Sandra had the best job that any woman could ask for in raising her family. One of Sandra's joys was cooking and baking for her loved ones. There was no one that could make lemon pies like her. Another joy of Sandra's was attending Home League meetings and camp. Sandra loved entertaining and spending time with her family and friends reminiscing about old times. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The love she had for her family will continue to touch each and every one of them as the love for her will continue to grow with each passing day from each and every one.

COLBOURNE, EDITH F.
1923 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edith Florence Colbourne announce her passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on May 16, 2014 at the age of 91. Edith was a member of the St. Luke's Anglican Church. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Colbourne; parents John & Mary Saunders; 6 brothers, 6 sisters, grandson Gerry; great grandson Art and son-in-law Roy. Left with fond and loving memories is her son James (Ivy) of Little Bay and daughters-Doris (Cecil) of South Brook and Bonnie of New Brunswick. Also leaving to mourn her passing are her sister Rita Barbour; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, 2 brothers-in-law and a large circle of family and friends. Rev. Madonna Boone conducted the funeral service from St. Luke's Anglican Church in Springdale on Monday, May 19, 2014. Interment was at the Anglican Cemetery in Springdale. Pallbearers are Carl Coombs, Mike Armstrong, Ford Young, Edna Baker, Jerry Lecco and Marden Simms. Honorary pallbearer is Kurt Huxter. FOSTER, OTTO
1945 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Otto Foster announce his passing at the James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander on May 18, 2014 at the age of 69. Otto retired from The Canadian Mining Development. He was predeceased by his parents John & Hazel Foster, 1 brother and 1 sister. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Chloe Foster; sons-Robin Foster (Sheila) of Grande Cache, AB, Rocky Foster (Trina) of Antigonish, NS, Randy Foster of Lumsden and his daughter Renee (Ralph Penney) of Antigonish, NS. Also leaving to mourn his passing are 8 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, 2 Sisters and 1 Brother. Majors Rex & Catherine Paddock will conduct the funeral service from Central Funeral Homes in Springdale on Thursday, May 22, 2014. Interment will be at the Interfaith Cemetery in King's Point. O'KEEFE, James Dermot
1931-2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Dermot O'Keefe announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre on May 24, 2014 at the age of 83. James was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish and an Honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Ann O'Keefe, wife Genevieve, son Eddie, sisters Mary and Bet, brothers Jerry and Ron. Left with fond and loving memories are his children, sons: Tom (Edna), Don (Paula), Tony (Gail), Jimmy (Karen), Brian (Rhonda), Sean (Denise) and Peter (Bonnie) and daughter Lee Anne (Jim). Also leaving to mourn 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Father Eugene Morris will conduct the funeral service at the Sacred Heart Church on May 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Michael Goodyear and Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes. PENNEY, Jim
With heavy hearts and profound sadness the children and family of Jim Penney announce his sudden passing on Monday, May 19, 2014, age 78 of Gander. Predeceased by his parents Chesley and Ina Penney, brothers Malcolm and Neville, parents in-law Mark and Jane Moss. Left to mourn are his son Jimmy of Gander, daughters Debbie Martin (Ray) of Gander, Michelle Peddle (Junior) of Gander, and Tara Dickey (Kevin) of Gander, brothers Chesley (Iris) of Long Pond-Manuels, George (Helen) of St. John's, Jordan (Helen) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Orville (Betty) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Fred (Anne) of Grand Falls-Windsor, sisters Elizabeth Winter (Hallett) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Anna Thistle (Alex) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Norma Pilgrim (Calvin) of Bay Roberts, and Glenis Murray (Glen) of Carbonear, grandchildren Matthew (Amanda) and Jonathon Martin, Braden Bradley, and Brett Dickey, great-grandchildren William Martin. Also left to mourn the mother of Jim's four children, Essie Penney, and special friend Beatrice Piercey, along with numerous nephews, nieces, and a large circle of family and friends. Jim was born in Carbonear, NL in 1935. The fourth oldest child of Chesley and Ina Penney. Jim later moved to Gander and opened Jim Penney Limited in 1965. This was just the beginning of many business ventures for him. Throughout his 49 years in business he received many awards and accolades for his efforts. Throughout these years he unselfishly and privately helped many people when he saw the need arise. His desire to succeed was never about himself but to know he could care for his family. To Dad with much love from your children Debbie, Michelle, Jimmy and Tara, "you were our rock and we don't know how we will carry on without you. We are so lucky and so proud to call you our DAD." To poppy from your grandsons Matthew, Braden, Jonathan and Brett, "you will always be our Hero and in our hearts forever." Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander on Wednesday, May 21st from 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. Funeral service was held on Thursday, May 22nd at 2:00 P.M. from St. Martin's Anglican Cathedral, Gander. Service officiated by Rev. Sheldon Legrow of the Fraser Road United Church. Interment followed at All Saints Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. THOMAS, GARLAND WILFRED
1933 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Garland Thomas announce his passing at his home in South Brook on May 26, 2014 at the age of 80. Garland was a member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church, South Brook. He retired from Department of Highways. Garland was predeceased by his parents, Ettie & Chesley and his daughter Alvy. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Yvonne Thomas; sons Neville of South Brook and Jimmie (Ruth) of Acton, ON; daughters-Justina (Scott) of Alabama, MI, Sharron (Scott) of Plattsville, ON, Sue (Herb) of Springdale and Naida (Wayne) of Hammer, ON. Also leaving to mourn are his sisters-Alvy, Alma, Dale, Joan, Audrey; brothers-Roger, Tony, Henry; grandchildren-Wendy, Chad, Krystal, Jyl, Jaydee, Mark, Serena, Phillip, Chase, Sky; great grandchildren-Caysie, Carson, Calleigh, Chance, John Marcus. Pastor Kerry Northcotte will conduct the funeral service from the Calvary Pentecostal Church in South Brook. Interment will be at the Pentecostal Cemetery in South Brook. Pallbearers will be Arch Locke, Jimmie Thomas, Sharron Saunders, Sue Skinner, Naida Anstey, Lorne Thomas, Herb Skinner and Alvy Croucher.
