BURT, Minnie Rosanna
- It is with sadness that the family of the late Minnie Rosanne Burt announce her passing at the Health Science Centre, St. John's NL, March 23, 2011 at the age of 72. Minnie is predeceased by her husband, Eric Burt; daughter, Debbie; parents, Eli and Jessie Stuckless; sisters, Dorothy and Helen Stuckless; brothers, Ambrose, Sandy and Eugene(Hugie). Left to mourn with fond and loving memories: are children, Barbara-Ann (Lorne) Marsh, Brenda (George) Blake, Sandy (Elizabeth), Eric (Linda), Captains Michele (Paul) Blake; Grandchildren, Lieutenant Jeremy (Christina) Marsh, Jeanine Marsh, Gregory, Travis, Jamie, Robin, Adrienne, Heather, Erica, Stephanie, Melissa (Shane) White, and Danielle Blake; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Florence Stuckless; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The visitation took place Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 7-9 pm, Sunday March 27, at 2-4 and 7-9 pm from Botwood Funeral Home, 147 Commonwealth Drive, Botwood, NL. The funeral service took place, Monday, March 28, at 2 pm from The Salvation Army Citadel, Peterview, NL. The interment followed at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Peterview, NL. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Botwood Funeral Home.

CATER, Albert
Passed Away On: 27/03/2011
Passed away on March 27th after a short illness in the presence of this caring and loving family at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Albert Cater of Norway House Manitoba. He was 28 years of age. Left to mourn are his parents, Bill and Evelyn; two sisters, Christine and Marie; friend and partner Anna; two daughters, Alexis and Jasmain; as well as many relatives in Grand Falls-Windsor area, Thompson and Winnipeg. He was employed by the Aboriginal Youth Services. As can be attested by the tributes and messages on facebook and received by his family from his many co-workers and friends, Albert was a very likeable and appreciated person.
He will be sadly missed. May he rest in peace.

COOPER, Overton
Passed Away On: 22/03/2011
Passed peacefully away on March 22, 2011, at his residence, Overton Cooper of Bishop's Falls. He was 63 years of age. Mr. Cooper retired from Aliant. He was predeceased by his mother Emily Canning. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Lois; son, Dion (Mel); daughters, Nicole (Jim) Peyton, Rachel (Des) Hynes. Also leaving to mourn are four grandchildren, Phillip Cormier, Abigal Peyton, Carly Hynes and Cameron Hynes; and his many loving brothers and sisters and other relatives and friends. Funeral services by Major Wycliffe Reid at The Salvation Army Citadel, Bishop's Falls on Sunday, March 27, 2011. Funeral arrangements by Hoskins Funeral Homes, Bishop's Falls. Pallbearers Jim Peyton, Des Hynes, Dion Cormier, Phillip Cormier, Arch Canning and Moody Canning. Donations in his memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

FLOOD, Francis
Passed Away On: 11/03/2011
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Francis Flood in Hanover, Ontario on Friday, March 11, 2011. He was born in Grand Falls, Newfoundland on Dec. 8, 1927. Fran was predeceased by first wife, Isobel (Bolton); parents, Joseph & Martha (Myers) Flood; sisters, Elizabeth in infancy and Marie (Bill) Burt. Leaving to mourn wife, Georgina; brothers, Ed (Nell), Raymond (Joan deceased) both of Grand Falls-Windsor and Junior (Rose) of London, On. Also leaving to mourn many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Donations in his memory may be made to The Immaculate Conception Cathedral Parish, Grand Falls-Windsor or the Lung Association.

FUDGE, Roxanne
Passed Away On: 14/03/2011
Passed peacefully away on March 8, 2011 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Roxanne Sheila Florence Fudge of Botwood. She was 41 years of age. She was predeceased by her sister Juanita. Left to mourn are her spouse, Darren Hancock; sons Dylan, Cody and Ryan Fudge; parents Alfonso and Margaret Fudge. Also leaving to mourn are her sister, Tracy (Gary Hoffe); brothers, Wayne (Florence), Barry (Sandy), Brian, Jamie (Bev) and Roddie (Carla) and a circle of other relatives and friends. Major William and Trixie Kean conducted funeral services at The Salvation Army Citadel, Peterview on Thursday, March 10, 2011 with interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood. Pallbearers were her brothers, Barry, Roddie, Brian and Wayne; brother-in-law, Garry Hoffe; and spouse, Darren Hancock. Honorary pallbearers were sons, Dylan, Cody and Ryan.

HEALEY, Mary
Passed Away On: 30/03/2011

Passed peacefully away after a short illness at the Central Newfoundland Hospital on Wed., March 30th, 2011, our mother, Mary Violet Healey (Keough) in hr 94th year. Mom was born on May 10, 1917 at Plate Cove East, B.B. but moved to Grand Falls where she married and raised her family. She is predeceased by her husband, John Healey Sr., her parents; Andrew and Mary Keough, sisters: Sarah and Margaret, brothers: John Thomas, Andrew and William, and son-in-law Al Holland. Left to mourn: son John (Gertie), daughters: Geraldine (Roy) Collins, Peg (Pete) Higgins and Marie Holland. Grandchildren: Stephanie and Christopher Healey, Holly Collins, Rodney Higgins, Charlene (Higgins) Walker (Matt), Bryan Holland (Kim). Great-grandchildren: Emma and Noah Walker, Claire Holland, her sister, Annie Dooley, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mom had great faith and lived life to the fullest. She was a member of St. Gerard's Guild for over forty years and also enjoyed the 50 Plus Club. Mom was a very generous and kind person who had a smile for everyone she met. A Funeral Mass was conducted by Fr. William Hearn on April 2nd at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, with Interment at the Interfaith Cemetery, Union Street. Pallbearers were John Healey, Christopher Healey, Peter Higgins, Rodney Higgins, Roy Collins and Joe Blackmore. Honorary Pallbearer, John Hamilton. - It is with sadness that the family of the late Harvey Ludwick Oake announce his passing at his residence in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on March 27, 2011 at the age 83. Harvey is predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Fanny Oake; brothers, Selby and Gerald; sisters, Helen and Anita. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Mabel; children, Pauline (Ken) Hillier, David (Kay), and Darlene (Garry) Coffin; Four grandchildren, Michael, Benjamin, Andrew, and Samantha; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Boyce, and Lesley; sisters, Hilda, Rita, Georgina, and Elsie; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation took place Tuesday, March 28, 2011 at 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service took place Wednesday at 2 pm from The Salvation Army Park Street Citadel with Majors Owen and Sharron Rowsell officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

PERRY, Jessie
Passed Away On: 15/03/2011
Passed peacefully away on March 15, 2011 at the Twin Town Manor, Jessie Maria Perry of Botwood. She was 87 years of age. She was predeceased by her husband Hosea Perry. She leaves to mourn her daughters Trula (David) Andrews, Edna (Gary) Burton, sister Ada (Watson) Sheppard, brother Leonard (Florence) Harvey , granddaughter Crystal (Darryl) Barnes, one great grandchild Tucker Barnes and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Fraser Roberts conducted funeral services from the Jubilee Pentecostal Temple, Botwood on March 18, 2011. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Homes, Botwood. Pallbearers were Bruce Harvey, Morley Harvey, Sunshine Anstey, Kathy Roberts, Kenneth Head and Leonard Harvey. Honorary pallbearer was Mildred Baker.

POMEROY, Geraldine
Passed peacefully at home in the presence of her family on March 16, 2011, Geraldine Louise Pomeroy of Bishop's Falls. She was 80 years of age. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur & Gladys Wellon of Deer lake, NL; two brothers Allister Wellon & Bill Wellon. Left to mourn her passing are husband, William Pomeroy; sons, Robert (Cindy), Craig (Alice), Paul (Tracy); daughters, Ardyth (Mike Langdon), Melanie (Bruce Schriver), Lori (Craig Luff). Also leaving to mourn are 13 Grandchildren; 1 Great granddaughter; sisters, Ida Read & Family, Beverley Benson & Family; brother, Randall Wellon & Family and many neices and nephews. Rev. Glenn Small conducted funeral services at St. Andrews Anglican Church, Bishop's Falls with interment at the Anglican Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Bishop's Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Bishop's Falls.

POWER, Anthony
Passed Away On: 16/03/2011
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Anthony Joseph Power announce his passing in St. John's, NL on March 16th, 2011 at the age of 49. Anthony was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Anthony leaves to mourn his parents, Philip and Sheila (McCarthy) Power, sisters Rosemary Davis (Dave); Jennifer Power Scott (Jeff Scott); brother Robert, and special friend Joan Thomey. Fr. William Hearn will conduct the funeral service at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on March 21st. Interment will be at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers are Knights of Columbus members William Aylward; Leo Dormody; Harvey Head; Leo Murphy; Gerald Murray; and Ronald Rose. Donations in Tony's memory can be made to Healing Expressions, Art Therapy Program, for people living with Mental Illness. During his final year Tony found much joy, acceptance and friendship through Healing Expressions. REID, John
Passed peacefully away at the Central NL Regional Health Centre, John Moses Reid of Roberts Arm. He was 87 years of age. Mr. Reid was a Carman for the Canadian Pacific Railway and retired in 1984. He was also a member of the Welcome Hall Mission in Montreal. Predeceased by his parents, Simeon & Roseanna; his first wife, Elsie; second wife, Joyce; brother, Leslie; and sisters, Ruby & Nellie. Left to mourn are sons, John, Watson (Brenda), and David. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Shirley Fucco, Sarah Driscoll, Marina Matterson, Rosamond (Dave Fielding); and brothers Walter, Allen, and Lloyd (Cecile); three grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Robert Paddock conducted funeral services at the Word of Life Tabernacle in Roberts Arm on March 20th, 2011. Interment followed from the Pentecostal Cemetery in Roberts Arm. Funeral arrangements were by Hoskins Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers were Lawernce Heath, Leander Hewlett, Wilson Butt, Ron Young, Bob Fifield, and Nelson Morgan.

ROBERTS, Justin
Passed Away On: 25/03/2011
ROBERTS - Justin Michael
, born July 27, 1987 in Grand Falls, passed away suddenly in Prince George, BC on March 25, 2011. Justin is survived by his parents: Joe and Joanne; brothers: Joey and Jeffrey; grandfather: Joe Roberts of Newfoundland. Predeceased by his grandmother: Lillian Roberts and grandparents: Kenneth & Marjorie Critch. He will be dearly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Assman's Funeral Chapel. Prayers will be said Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 8:00 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness on March 7, 2011 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Audrey Alma Saunders of Bishop's Falls, she was 84 years of age. Mrs. Saunders retired from Saunders' Stop & Shop in 1991. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur & Ada Cornick; brother, Wallace; sister-in-law, Lillian. Left to mourn are her husband Joe Saunders of 56 years. Also left to mourn her passing are nephews, Ewen (Donna) Cornick, their children, Jill, Heather & Leigh; Mark (Donna) Cornick their children Amy & Matt; niece, Valerie (Harold) Peddle, their children, Sally & Allison and a circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Elizabeth Stewart conducted funeral services at the United Church with interment at the United Church Cemetery, Bishop's Falls on Thursday, March 10, 2011. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Bishop's Falls. Pallbearers were Ewen Cornick, Mark Cornick, Ron Lahey, Frazer Butt, Fred Boone and Bob King.

SHARPE, Howard
It is with sadness that the families of the late Howard John Sharpe announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, aged 74 years. John is predeceased by his wife, June; parents, Clarence and Pearl Sharpe; sister, Mabel; brother, Reginald; sister-in-law, Joyce. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are: children, John (Christine), Edward (Cathy), Catherine (Kevin Peckford) , Sandra, and Howard; grandchildren, John-Francis, Melinda, Tyler, Kayla, Nicolas, Emily, and Angelica; great-grandchild, Callie; brother, Lloyd. Cremation has taken place; Visitation took place Monday, March 7, 2011 at 7-9 pm from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Passed peacefully away March 19, 2011 at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre, Wilson David Snow, age 80 of Botwood, NL. Mr. Snow retired from Philpott's Hardware Store in 1970 and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was predeceased by, his wife Theresa; parents, Sam and Mary Snow (Chayter); brother, Norman; sister, Marion. Left to mourn his passing are sons, Harold (Josie), Thomas (Sherry Ward), Daniel (Sherry Rosko), Allen (Kelcy); daughters, Marguerite, Cathy (Cyril) Sheppard, Yvonne (Rodney) Stuckey, Tina (Neil) Locke. Also leaving to mourn are his sisters, Joan (Bram) Rowsell, Doris (Ted) Paul; brother, Edgar; his 17 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a circle of other friends and relatives. Funeral service by Major Calvin Collins at Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood, on Thursday, March 24, 2011 with interment at the Sacred Heart Parish cemetery, Bishop's Falls. . Passed peacefully away after a short illness at Masonic Park Nursing Home, Mount Pearl on March 26th, 2011, Margaret Stapleton, age 95. Predeceased by her husband, Benedict in 1998, and her brothers and sisters, Thomas, Annie Sullivan, Stephen, Ronald, Marie McKenna, infant James, and her half brother and sister, Philip and Frances (Chicago). Leaving to mourn sons John (Mary), Vancouver; Harold (Gerri), Mount Pearl; Allan (Marie), Hamilton; Neal (Molly), Thompson; and Bill (Theresa), Halifax; sister Patricia Ciano (Hawaii); grandchildren, Robert, Karen, Kenny, Anne, Mark, Jeffrey, Paul, Leigh, Nancy, Cora, Matthew, and David; great grandchildren, Christian, Kaelyn, Sage, Emory, Max, Sara, and Elizabeth; sister in law Anne Healey; a large number of nephews and nieces including special niece Tess Kennedy; and special friend Sally Keating. Born in Grand Falls-Windsor, Marg spent most of her life there except for a few short years in her teens when she and her family lived in Holyrood, C.B. Marg was very active in the Knights of Columbus Ladies and the Altar Society and had many fond memories of her auction and bridge clubs' friends. In her later years she lived in Toronto, Florida and St. John's. Funeral took place at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Grand Falls-Windsor on Wednesday, March 30th. Celebrant was Fr. William Hearn. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes, Union Street. Fr. Hearn and Mr. Maidment are thanked for their tremendous support. A very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Masonic Park Nursing Home for their care during the past nine months, and especially for their care of Margaret and support to her family during her recent illness. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
May Margaret rest in place.

- It is with sadness that the family of the late Priscilla White announces her passing on March 29, 2011 at the St. Claire's Mercy Hospital. St. John's, NL, aged 61. Priscilla is predeceased by her parents, Alex and Daisy Woolridge; sisters, Rowena Hunt, and Sheila Froude; estranged husband, Reginald White. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are: brothers, Leonard (Melba), George (Joan), Fred (Louise), Henry (Rita), David (Isabella); sisters, Doris (Gerald) Yates, Evelyn Pretty, Florence Hancock, Anne (Bruce) Bailey, Beatrice Vineham, Phyllis (Harold) Thompson, and Judy (Ross) Dyer. Visitation took place, Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at 7-9 pm, Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 2-4 and 7-9 pm from Botwood Funeral Home.
