BANKS, LEAH JANE
1921 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leah Jane Banks announce her passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on June 1, 2014 at the age of 93. Left with fond and loving memories are her two sons-Stanley (Betty) and Gus (Mabel). Also leaving to mourn are grandchildren-Shawn (Gwen), Corey (Rose), Glynn (Gertie), Myra (Richard), Joselyn (Robert); great grandchildren-Sonia (Joshua), Whitney, Laura(Blayne), Jennifer, Alanna, Megan, Mateo; great great grandchild Nathan; her brother Freake Rice (Sadie) as well as other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the staff of Springdale Retirement Home and nurses of Springdale Cottage Hospital. Special thanks as well to Major and Mrs Abbott of the Salvation Army Springdale Corps. Pallbearers are Corey Banks (Grandson), Whitney Swyers (Great Granddaughter), Sonia Hobbs (Great Granddaughter), Myra Swyers (Granddaughter), Joselyn Banks (Granddaughter) and Rick Swyers (Grandson-in-law).

CROKE, Grace Fannie
1943 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Grace Fannie Croke announce her passing at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital in St. John's on June 23, 2014 at the age of 71. Grace was a Soldier of The Salvation Army and was an active member of the Home League and Community Care Ministries. Grace was predeceased by her parents Walter and Daisy Normore, husbands Samuel George Mayo and Patrick Croke, daughter Georgina Mayo and stepson Tom Croke. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons: Toby (Pam) Mayo, Deer Park, NL, David (Corrin) Mayo, Dartmouth, NS, daughters Rose (Ted) Wilson, Deer Lake, NL, Diane Kelly, Bishop`s Falls, NL, step-children Barbara (Gary) Chaffey, Fort McMurray, AB, Aidan (Colleen) Croke, Turo, NS, Brian Croke, daughter-in-law Helina Croke, Bay DÈspoir, NL. Also leaving to mourn step-mother Beulah Pinksen, brother Byron Normore, (Florence Knot), 15 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army, Bishop`s Falls on June, 2012 at 2:00 PM. FUDGE, Catherine Ann
1950 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Catherine Ann Fudge announce her passing at The Central Regional Health Care Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on June 18, 2014 at the age of 64. Predeceased by her husband Sandy Fudge and parents Daniel and Eileen Carroll. Left with fond and loving memories are her daughter Sarah - Lee Fudge of Botwood and son Boyde Higgins of Grand Falls -Windsor. Also leaving to mourn are granddaughters Danielle and Rebecca Simms of Grand Falls-Windsor, brothers Joe Carroll of St. John's and Frank Carroll of Fortune Harbour, friend Eli Rice of Fortune Harbour, sister-in-law Ivy Fudge of Valley Pond, Shirley Mitchell (Wayne) of Twillingate, Aunt Merlie Card of Badger, sister - law Velma Fudge, Ella (Keith ) Rideout, Lloyd (Georgina) of Summerford, Lewis (Margaret) Fudge of Summerford, Gerald (Beatrice) Fudge of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Ray (Betty) Fudge of Badger and a large circle of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

HEWLETT, Leonard Robert
1960 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leonard Robert Hewlett announce his passing at his home in Waterloo, Ontario on June 21, 2014 at the age of 54. Leonard was predeceased by his brother Ralph Hewlett. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Sandy; his parents Alex & Ruby Hewlett; sons-Robert & Adam and daughter Amanda (Mark) of Waterloo, Ontario. Also leaving to mourn his passing is his brothers-Bruce (Bernice), Albert (Sher); sisters-Violet & Maisie; 3 grandchildren; loving son-in-law of Calvin & Nancy and loving brother-in-law of Susan, Rick & Philip. Pastor Kerry Northcotte will conduct the funeral service from the Pentecostal Church in South Brook on June 26, 2014. Interment will be at the Pentecostal Cemetery in South Brook. HIGDON, Chloe Marjorie (Woodman)
It is with great sadness but with thanksgiving for her long life that we announce the passing of our beloved mother/grandmother, Chloe Marjorie Higdon, of Buchans who passed away at the A.M. Guy Hospital on June 10th 2014 at the age of 93. Marjorie was born to Arthur and Susannah Woodman of New Harbour, Trinity Bay. She was predeceased by her husband Stan, her siblings John, Elwood, Ernest, George, Laura Oxford and Pearl Foote. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, June 13th 2014 in the Salvation Army, Buchans. Donations in Marjorie's memory can be made to the Salvation Army, Buchans. JACOBS, Margaret Ann
1917 - 2014

Passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, Margaret Jacobs at the age of 97 years on June 12, 2014. She resided at the Valley Vista Complex for the past 12 years. Margaret Ann Rowsell was born to Herbert & Pricilla on May 17, 1917. Margaret grew up in Little Bay Islands and moved to Miles Cove as a young woman, where she met and later married Edward Jacobs in May of 1937. They raised ten children. She was a hard working woman especially when Edward left for overseas in 1939. She had two young boys to care for. He returned in 1944. Times were hard and lonely… She became a born again Christian in 1957 and served the Lord faithfully, attended the Pentecostal Church up until a few years ago when she lost her eye sight. She will be missed by her family. Predeceased by her husband Edward; sons Lloyd & Gordon; grandsons Brian & Larry. Leaving with loving memories are her children; Rita & Ralph of Sudbury, ON., Violet & Roy of Springdale, Beulah & Ed of Stephenville, Ross & Gloria of Springdale, Donald of ON., Doreen & Max of Burlington, ON., Ed. Jr. of Longlac, ON., Laura of Grand Falls-Windsor, Annette -granddaughter who she raised as a daughter; 26 Grandchildren, 36 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren and daughters-in-law Golda, Josephine & Loretta.

LINGARD, Clarence Leslie
1937 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clarence Leslie Lingard Jr. announce his passing at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre in Botwood, NL on June 3, 2014 at the age of 77. Clarence retired from CN Roadcruiser. He was predeceased by his parents Dora & Clarence Lingard Sr. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Bridget; son Paul (Sandra) of Paradise; daughters, Michelle (Brian) of Bishop's Falls, and Kelly (Randy) of Paradise . Also leaving to mourn are 6 grandchildren: Stephen, Ashley, Tyler, Robyn, Rebecca, and Riley. Brothers and sisters: Mont, Mae, Vanda, Marie, Betty, and Phil. Father Eugene Morris will the conduct the funeral mass at the Sacred Heart Church in Bishop's Falls on Friday, June 6 at 11:00 A.M. Pallbearers are Tony Morgan, Roy Greene, Tom Penney, Hayward Slade, Phil Lingard, and Norman Slade. Honorary Pallbearer is Mont Lingard. MOREY, Tootsie Viola
July 10, 1949 - June 29, 2014
Tootsie V. Morey
, age 64, of Middle Arm passed peacefully away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at her home in Springdale after a courageous battle with cancer. Tootsie was born in Middle Arm on July 10, 1949 to Lillian Thomas. She went on to marry Gary Morey and settled in Springdale where they raised their children. Outside of being known as a wife, mother, counsellor, referee and mentor, she was well known and respected for the hard work and dedication she provided working alongside some of her close friends-Eric and Janice Hibbs at Kaitlyn's Restaurant. She went on to finish her career at Springdale Retirement Center where she retired at the age of 60. After retirement Tootsie enjoyed sewing, knitting and spending time with her large circle of friends and family members. She took pride in gardening and had a unique passion for the outdoors and its wildlife. Tootsie loved her children dearly and they were a very important part of her life. She loved to share stories about their lives growing up whether it be stories of lessons she taught or just stories to make you chuckle. It was evident she loved them dearly by the way her face would light up. Tootsie had an amazing sense of humor and will be deeply missed by the large circle of friends and family and loved ones she leaves to mourn.

NEWMAN, EVELYN
1955 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Evelyn Newman announce her passing at the Green Bay Health Center on June 18, 2014 at the age of 58. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents Norman & Lily Milley. Left with fond and loving memories is her husband James Newman; son Tommy Newman (Doris) of South Brook and daughters Tammy Young (Gary) of Dawson Creek & Tina Francis (Peter) of London, Ontario. Also leaving to mourn are Grandchildren Dakota Young, Tasha Francis, Jayme Newman, Cheyenne Young, PJ Francis; Brothers Cedric (Janice) Milley, Scott (Joy) Milley, Elvis (Glenda) Milley, Christopher (Lee-Ann) Milley; brother-in-law Eugene (Mamie) Newman; sister-in-law Geraldine (Sonny) Croucher as well as many other relatives and friends.

ROWSELL, ARTHUR SAMUEL
1918 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Arthur Samuel Rowsell announce his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on June 30, 2014 at the age of 95. Arthur was a member of the Miles Cove Pentecostal Church. Predeceased by his parents Naomi & Warrick Rowsell; wife Olive; son Sandy; daughters Belinda & Bertha and brother George. Left to mourn is his sons-Warrick (Dorothy) of Miles Cove, Malcolm (Vida) of Clarenville and daughters-Fanny (Gerald Fudge) of Miles Cove, Elsie (Wesley Caravan) of Miles Cove and Ivy (Bruce Mills) of Miles Cove. Also leaving to mourn are his brother Sandy; daughter-in-law Barbara; 23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Pastor David Wells conducted the funeral service at Pentecostal Church in Miles Cove on July 2, 2014. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were his sons-Warrick & Malcolm, daughters-Fanny, Elsie & Ivy and Grandson Wilfred Fudge. Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the A. M. Guy Memorial Health Centre, Buchans, on Thursday, June 4th, 2014, Madeline Scott, age 81. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Margaret (Vokey) Kennedy, brother, Patrick Kennedy, son-in-law, Gerald Day. Left to mourn with loving memories are her husband of 62 years, William Scott, children Peggy Day of Thompson, Manitoba; Joanne Scott of St. John's, Charmaine Scott of St. John's, Cheryl (Boyd) Riggs of Carbonear, William Scott Jr. (Andrea Lee) of Greenwood, Nova Scotia; Stephen Scott (Melanie) of St. John's, grandchildren Shanne and Scotty Day, Scott and Heather Bourden, Laura and David Riggs, Ashley and Stephanie Scott, Will and Ella Scott, great-grandchild Claire Bourden, siblings Geraldine Zunke of Toronto, Ontario; Linda Kennedy of Holyrood, Joseph Kennedy of Calgary, Alberta and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Buchans on Thursday, June 5th and Friday, June 6th. Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, June 7th at 2:00 P.M. at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church. SZETO, Sheung
1946-2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sheung Szeto announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Health Centre in Grand Falls- Windsor on June 9, 2014 at the age of 67 years. Sheung was owner/operator of the Lucky Fortune Restaurant in Bishop's Falls. Sheung was predeceased by his parents Tam Lin and Kai Yong Szeto, Left with fond and loving memories are wife Choen Sue, daughters Melanie and Melissa, Bishop's Falls. Also left to mourn are; his brother Wing (Donna), Gander, and two sisters, Hong Kong, five nieces and two nephews ,and a circle of family and friends. Majors Wycliffe and Shirley Reid of The Salvation Army will conduct the funeral service at the Bishop's Falls Funeral Home, Bishop's Falls on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. THORNE, Eva Mary R.N, (nee Stickland)
Passed peacefully away June 28, 2014 in her 99th year at the Carmelite Nursing Home, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Predeceased by her husband Maxwell, daughter Maxine, son Keith, brothers Eric, Cecil, sisters Brigadier Fronie Stickland, Brigadier Minnie Stickland, and Ella Thompson. Leaving to mourn are daughter Joan, son-in-law Edwin Hussey, daughter-in-law Sandra Thorne; grandchildren, Andrew, Mark and Cathy Hussey; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Max, and a circle of relatives and friends. She will be resting at Central Funeral Homes, Grand Falls -Windsor with visitation from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Monday, June 30, 2014. Cremation to follow with Memorial Service at Memorial United Church, Grand Falls-Windsor at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday July 02, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Grand Falls-Windsor Memorial United Church Cemetery Fund.

TIZZARD, KEITH
1961 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Keith Tizzard announce his passing at Red Lake, Ontario on June 5, 2014 at the age of 52. Keith was predeceased by his parents, Chesley Tizzard and Bernetta Baker. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Inez of Springdale and daughter Ashley (Shaun) of Corner Brook. Also leaving to mourn are his sisters Cavell (George), Hilda (Wayne); brothers Lyndon(Barb), Don (Daisy), Brian (Andrea) and Eldon as well as many other relatives and friends. Majors Collin & Jacqueline Abbott will conduct the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on Friday, June 13, 2014. Interment will be at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Springdale.
