BARKER, JAMES F.
1948-2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late James F. Barker announce his passing at the Health Science Center in St. John's on July 4, 2010 at the age of 62. James was a member of the Notre Dame Council of the Knights of Columbus and the Immaculate Conception Cathedral Parish. James retired from Abititi Price in 2004. James was predeceased by his parents Annie and Harold Barker and two younger siblings that died at birth. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Sandra and daughter Nancy (Brian) Barry of Grand Falls-Windsor. Also leaving to mourn his sister Isabel Barker; sister and brother-in-law Freda (Arnold) Edwards, brother and sister-in-law Dr. Thomas (Mary) Poole; granddaughter Emily Barry; niece Jennifer Poole and nephew Fred (Christina) Edwards. Father Lloyd Lugtu will conduct the Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral on Wednesday, July 7th, 2010. Interment will be at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Dr. Thomas Poole, Artie Daye, John Locke, Dennis Downton, Gordon Hiscock, Brian Barry and honorary pallbearer Brian Barry. BOLLARD, Mr. Raymond

Passed peacefully away on July 27, 2010 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, Raymond (Frank) Francis Bollard of Grand Falls-Windsor. He was 81 years of age. Mr. Bollard retired from the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor and was a member of the Windsor Fire Dept. Predeceased by his wife Eileen Ballard. Left to mourn are his sons, Wayne (Alice), Paul (Geraldine), Brian (Rhondalee), John (Jo-ann), Casey (Penny); daughters, Michelle (Jeff), Laurie (Rod), special daughter Cathy Ballard. Also leaving to mourn his sister, Kathleen McDermott; 22 grandchildren, Christoper, Michael, Deidre, Kristen, Kaleyn, Kelsey, Tony, Allison, Daniel, Kenneth, Matthews, Sarah, Mandy, Mark, Melissa, Amy, Tiffany, Ryan, Andrew, Julie, Gregory, Katie; six great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, David, Hannah, Lily, Sage, Ella-Bleu and a large circle of other relatives and friends. CHURCHILL, Mr. Arthur

Passed peacefully away at the Carmelite House, on July 1, 2010, Arthur John Churchill of Grand Falls-Windsor. He was 84 years of age. Mr. Churchill retired from Abitibi Price in 1988. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion; son, Kevin; parents; brothers Kenneth and Doug. Left to mourn his passing are sons, Winston (Carol), Wayne (Muriel); daughters, Grace Houlahan, Leona (Russell Lewis). Also leaving to mourn are his 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Violet Benson; brother, Malcom and a circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Marvin Burton will conduct funeral service at Evangel Pentecostal Tabernacle, Grand Falls-Windsor, on July 3, 2010. Interment at the Windsor Pentecostal Cemetery, Caribou Road. COOK (Goulding), Edwina Eunice - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and friend, Edwina Cook (Goulding), on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at the Q.E. II, Halifax Infirmary. Born on February 10, 1929, in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, she was the youngest of six children of the late Garfield and Isabella (Saunders) Goulding. While working as a salesperson for the Royal Stores, in Grand Falls, she met and married our father, the late Elam Randell Cook. Our family moved from Grand Falls, to Halifax in 1968, before taking permanent residence in Falmouth. Mom was a long time employee of Mills Brothers, Halifax, until her retirement in 1991. Mom's sense of humor and love of life endeared her to all who knew her. She is survived by her five children, Randy (Kathy), Dartmouth; Valerie (Wendell) VanIderstine, Lr. Sackville; Gary (Donna), Lr. Sackville; Deanna (Paul) Witte, Whitby, Ont.; Pam (Victor) Leary, Falmouth; her special friend, Vivian McInnis, Halifax. Besides parents and her husband of 35 years, Elam; she was predeceased by her sisters, Greta, Annie and Lucy; brothers, Nelson and Charles. Edwina will be dearly missed by her nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. We all have special memories, a celebration of her life, was held 1 -2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, followed by the memorial service at 2 p.m. The Rev. CURLEW, Mr. Herbert

Passed peacefully away on July 16, 2010 at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre, Botwood, Herbert Robert Curlew of Pleasantview. He was 81 years of age. He was a quiet man who enjoyed rabbit catching and fishing. He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Blanche; brothers, Donald, Fred; sisters, Georgina (Clayton) Warford, Lenora (William) Curlew; brothers-in-law, Fred Brett and Maxwell Stuckless. Leaving to mourn are his sisters, Frances Brett, Mae (Ronald) Langdon, Ethel (Arthur) Brett, Marjorie Stuckless; brothers, Raymond (Margaret), Ford; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. DALTON, Mr. William

William "Bill" P. Dalton
, 77, of Lutes Mountain, NB, with his wife and children at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, July 4, 2010. Born in Bishop's Falls, NF, he was the son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (St. George) Dalton. Bill was retired from the CNR as a carman with over 30 years service and was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, the CN Pensioners Association and volunteered with the Moncton Minor Hockey Association. He enjoyed model trains, playing the guitar, was a homemade brew "Professional Maker and Taster" and loved socializing and spending precious time with his family and friends. Bill will be sadly missed by his wife of 49 years, Diane (Simmons) Dalton; children, Debbie LeBlanc (Dennis), Moncton, Bonnie Dalton, Halifax, NS, Ron Dalton, Riverview, Nancy Forrest (Rick), Fredericton; grandchildren, Mathew and Justin LeBlanc, Aaron, Bailey and Cayden Forrest, Brandon, Ryan and Meghan Dalton; sisters, Rita Lambert (Lloyd), NF and Kathleen Gillis (John), AB; brother, Fred Dalton, NF; several nieces and nephews. She was 87 years of age. She was predeceased by husband, Charles; son, David; daughter Myrtle Hancock (Doug); sister, Hazel; brother-in-law, Cyril Fifield; brothers, Stanley and Oliver Whyatt. HYNES, Mr. Sidney

Passed peacefully away in July 6, 2010 at the Veterans Unit of the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre, Sidney A. Hynes. He was 87 years of age and a second World War Merchant Navy Veteran, Rescue Tug Section T124T. Following his return from overseas service, he was employed by Goodyear and Sons, following which he was employed with Abitibi Price and retired from the mechanical department there after 45 years of service. Predeceased by his parents Mark and Matilda, sisters Bessie, Susie, Hilda, Winnie and Maude. Brothers James, Kenneth, Frank, Charles, Reginald and Ralph. Also grandson Jason and his beloved pet cat Tia. Left to mourn are daughters Marjorie (Cecil), Marilyn (Roy). Sons William (Sarah) and Ronald. Grandchildren Sherry (Mathias), Lisa (Corey), Jeffery (Tara), Jeremy (Janice), Sherry (Jack), Amanda (Chris). Great - Grandchildren Coralee, Ethan and Sarana. Brothers George and John. Sisters-in-Law Jessie, Joyce and Beatrice. A host of nieces and nephews and many, many friends. It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Edward Moore announce his passing at the CNRHC in Grand Falls-Windsor on Saturday July 31, 2010 at the age of 74. John was an active member of Memorial United Church and held many volunteer positions across the province. John was the managing director of Cabot Bakery Ltd. in Grand Falls-Windsor for more than 40 years. Predeceased by his parents Lorenzo (Sandy) and Olivia Moore. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Dorothy May Moore (Green). Passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor on Monday, July 26th, at the age 78 years. Passed peacefully away at home in Botwood, on Wednesday July 21, 2010. Austin Ralph Picco (CD2), at the age of 78, a proud member of the Canadian Forces of 42 years. Serving with the Black Watch (RHR), Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR) and Canadian Rangers, being deployed to Wrel, Germany and veteran of two United Nations tours (Cyprus). Life member of the Royal Canadian Legion and an active member of the Army Cadet program. He proudly established a cadet unit in English Harbour West. Not only serving his country, but his community as a 22 year member of the Lions Club. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife: Ivy; daughters: Mary (Bob Williams, St. John's, NL, Anna (Mike Ward), Lincoln, NB, Hazel (Cam Giles), Toronto, ON, Dee Dee, St. John's, NL, Dena (Shawn Drakes), St. John's, NL; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; loving sisters: Mary Watts, Trenton, ON, Hazel Churchill, Portugal Cove, NL, and brother: Tim (Mary), Silvin Lake, AB, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Barbara Edison; brothers, Carl, Heber, Donald, Oswald, Maxwell, and Wilbert; sisters, Annie, Audrey, and Georgina. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are: husband, Augustus; daughters, Viva (Fred) Adams of Northern Arm, NL, Hazel (George) Dawe of South Brook, Halls Bay, NL; sons, Bill (Gail) Wells of Botwood, NL, Roy (Faye) Wells, of Labrador City; 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Smith; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. The funeral Service took place Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 2 pm from Jubilee Pentecostal Tabernacle, Botwood, NL with Pastor Frazer Roberts officiating. Visitation took place Friday, July 30, 2010 at 2 -4 pm and 7-9 pm. Flowers were greatly accepted as well donations in her memory were made to the Village of Hope and the Gideon Society. Pallbearers: Bill Well, Roy Wells, Glenn Adams, Fred Adams, George Dawe, Kirk Wells. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Botwood Funeral Home.
