ANTHONY, Vey
Passed away on: 28/01/2011
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Vey Delano Anthony announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on January 28, 2011 at the age of 65. Left to mourn are his sons, Mark (Susan) from Grand Falls-Windsor and Rodney (Diana) from Fort McMurray, four grandchildren (Tyler, Robyn, Ashton & Ava) and nine siblings (Gene (Lorraine), Sterling (Barb), Marilyn (George), Bruce (Bonnie), Louise (Cal), Karen, Harry (Judy), Merv (Flora) and Sylvia (Peter)), as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Vey was predeceased by his parents, Reginald and Olive Anthony. Funeral arrangements were completed by Central Funeral Home and the service was conducted by Pastor Gary Andrews at Windsor Pentecostal Church on Tuesday, February 1st. Interment was at the Salvation Army cemetery in Pilley's Island. Appreciation is extended to the staff from Your Home Care Services company and the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre who assisted Vey during his illness.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Patricia Pauline Barnes announce her passing at the age of 68 years. Patricia is predeceased by mother Cassandra Adams; father Emanuel Adams; sisters Mary Adams, Audrey (John Coady), Sandra Adams; brothers Keith Adams and Elmer Adams. Left with fond and loving memories are husband Frederick; sons Barry (Pauline) of Lantz, NS; Blair (Wanda) of Grand Falls-Windsor; Bryon (Ann Marie) Dartmouth, NS. Also leaving to mourn are her brother Byron (Theresa) Milton; sister-in-law Shirley Adams Milton; brothers-in-law Gerry Barnes (Georgie) Grand Bank; Angus Barnes (Francis) St. John's; grandchildren Ryan, Brandon, Megan, Nick and Hannah; along with a large circle of relatives and friends. BLACKMORE, Stella
Passed away on: 20/01/2011
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stella Blackmore announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on January 20th, 2011 at the age of 89 years. Stella was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church ACW. Stella retired from teaching at Grand Falls Academy. Predeceased by husband Tom. Left with fond and loving memories daughter Sharon (Philip Stubly) of Oxfordshire, England. Also leaving to mourn Christopher (Sarah) and Andrew (Kerri). Rev. Randy Lockyer conducted the funeral service at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Grand Falls-Windsor on January 22nd, 2011. Interment will be at the Anglican Cemetery. Passed away on: 26/01/2011
Passed peacefully away Naomi Emily Blake at the Health Science Center, St. John's on January 26, 2011. She was 48 years of age. Predeceased by father Ebenezer Blake. Left to mourn are sons; Bradley (Michelle) and Jeffrey (Jennifer) of Toronto, ON. Also leaving to mourn are her mother, Bertha Blake; sisters, Myrtle (Edgar), Stella (Wilfred), Isabelle (Hedley), Ina and Rowena; brothers, Ronald (Joan), Isreal, Calvin, Wilbert, Neil (Barbara), Riely, Rocky (Wanda), Prescott and Rufus. Five grandchildren Jeffrey TR, Mickey, Rebecca, Abagail, Isabella and Madeline Seymore and many other relatives and friends. BOWERS-PINKSEN, Kimberly
Passed away on: 31/01/2011
Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family on January 31, 2011 at the Health Sciences Centre, Kimberly Bowers-Pinksen, age 44 years. Predeceased by her parents George and Leah Bowers and brother Beorge Jr. Leaving to mourn with fond memories her loving husband Daryl; brothers: Terry (Peggy), Ray (Fronie), Wade (Grace), Aubrey (Merab), Gary (Bonnie), Shawn (Mary), Todd (Diane), Geoff (Lori); sisters: Debra (Austin), Trudy; parents-in-law Kara Langer (James); and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Passed away Jan. 8, 2011 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Mildred Burt of Botwood. She was 86 years of age. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernie and Helen Verge; husband, Ronald; sons, Wayne and Barry; daughter, Linda; four sisters and one brother. Left to mourn are sons, Bruce and Glenn (Bernadine); daughters, Lillian Langdon (Arthur), Marion Perry (Levi), Judy Rudolph. Also leaving to mourn are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and a circle of other relatives and friends. Major Calvin Collins will conduct funeral services at The Salvation Army Citadel, Botwood on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 with interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Botwood. COLE, Albert

Passed peacefully away on Jan. 25, 2011 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Albert Ezra Cole of Grand Falls-Windsor. He was 93 years of age. Mr. Cole retired from Price Nfld. Paper Co. in 1982. He was predeceased by his first wife, Irma Cole; parents, Richard and Elizabeth; brother, Gordon and Boyd; sisters, Mary and Rosella. Left to mourn are his wife, Clara; daughters, Barbara (Harry) Pardy, Joan Harris, Jean (Harry) Hill, Lorraine (Brian) Quigley; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn are sisters, Margaret Gough, Violet Norris; brother, Melvin Cole and a circle of other relatives and friends. CORBIN, Marlene

Passed peacefully away after a short illness, Jan. 14, 2011 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Marlene Mary Corbin of Grand Falls-Windsor. She was 55 years of age. She was employed at Highliner Inn and was a member of St. Joseph's CWL. She was predeceased by her parents Valentine and Doreen Finlay; sister-in-law, Maxine Corbin. Left to mourn her passing are husband, Brian; sons Kenny and Jeffrey (Glenda); parents-in-law, Martin and Stella Corbin; grandson, Cameron. FITZPATRICK, Andrew
It is with sadness that the families of the late Andrew (Andy) Thomas Fitzpatrick announce his passing at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Heath Centre, Botwood, NL, aged 68. Andy is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Mary Fitzpatrick; brothers, Donald, Michael, and Bernard. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his brother, John (Judy) and William (Triffie); sisters, Margaret Butler, Bridgette Hicks (Steve Finnegan). Visitation took place Monday, January 31, 2011 at 7-9 pm and Tuesday at 2-4 and 7-9 pm from the Community Hall School, Fortune Harbour, NL. The funeral service took place Wednesday , February 2, 2011 at 2 pm from The Community Hall School, Fortune Harbour, NL, with Father Eugene Morris officiating. Flowers greatly accepted as well as donations in his memory were made to a charity of one's choice. HYNES, Douglas
Passed away on: 28/01/2011

Passed peacefully away on January 26, 2011 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Douglas Graham Hynes of Bishop's Falls. He was 85 years of age. He attended the United Church regularly and served on the A.O.T.S. Men's Service Club, Board of Management, Elder of the church and a member of the United Church choir. On November 16th, 2008 he became a lifetime member of the United Church A.O.T.S. Men's Service Club. He retired from Abitibi Price with 45 years of service on February 1, 1991. He was predeceased by his parents Hubert and Elizabeth Hynes; brothers, Sterling, Lionel; sisters, Jessie Budgell, Sylvia Budgell; parents-in-law Ambrose and Amelia Jane Pelley; sisters-in-law Gertrude Luff, Ethel Smith, Lillian Barrett, Elsie Cook; brothers-in-law, Harold Pelley, Raymond Pelley, Harry Pelley and Lloyd Pelley. Mourning his loss with unconditional love and fond memories are his wonderful wife of 63 years, Dorothy, son; Gerald (Donna), daughters; Sandra (best friend Margaret Way), Darlene (Bruce Hancock), and his pride and joy two granddaughters Amy Elizabeth Hancock and Susan Lynn Hancock; brother and sister-in-law John & Myrtle Hynes; sisters-in-law Kate Bouzane and Mabel Tulk, brothers-in-law Wilson Pelley and Raymond Luff, nephews, nieces and a very large circle of loving family, friends and neighbours. Rev. Elizabeth Stewart conducted funeral services at the United Church Bishop's Falls on Sunday, Jan. 30 with interment at the United Church Cemetery. KELLY, Thomas
With much sadness, we announce the passing of Thomas Michael Kelly, a loving husband, dedicated father, and proud grandfather. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a brave battle with cancer. Born in Gambo, NL in 1931 to Garrett & Katherine (Jesso) Kelly, he was one of 15 children. He moved to Grand Falls in 1953, and with his wife of 56 years, raised five children of his own. Tom was employed by the NL Government until 1988. His great passion was his family and his friends. He loved animals, gardening, and nature. Tom was an avid walker and enjoyed many long walks with his canine companion, Jada. He loved long Sunday drives with his family and in later years he and his wife travelled Newfoundland extensively. He also loved birds and cared for them in his backyards throughout his life. He was an enthusiastic hockey fan and especially cheered for Newfoundland NHLers. He loved meeting people and was always friendly to everyone lucky enough to have met him. He was helpful to people in need whether they were friends or strangers. He is survived by his wife Margaret, daughters Karolynn (Eric) Holdsworth; Jeannette (John) Kelly-Hull, Elaine (Michael) Zaichkowsky; and sons, Tommy (Adrienne), Trevor (Patti), grandchildren Jeffrey; Lori; Andrew; Liam and Amy. Sisters Madeline (Bob) , Bride, and Anna. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Daffodil Place or the EVSPCA (or any animal rescue organization of your choice. Father Brian Colbert said the Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. It is with sadness that the families of the late Lisa Margaret Keough announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, aged 40. LEWIS, David
Passed peacefully away at his residence in Grand Falls-Windsor, the late Andrew David Lewis in his 23rd year. He is predeceased by grandparents Harold and Gertrude Lewis, uncles Charlie Lewis, Vincent Walsh and Desmond Janes. Andrew has left to mourn with fond and loving memories his parents David and Judy (Wright), sister Stephanie (Fiancé Darren Wood) of Hull, UK, brother Chad, grandparents Victor and Kay Wright, and special friend Courtney Bennett of Grand Falls-Windsor, along with a large circle of extended family, aunts, uncles cousins and friends. Thank you all for sharing our loss and our grief. Andrew meant so much to so many. Our love for our son, brother and special soul mate will be forever. Peace to you Andrew. We love you. The Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15th, 2011. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Malcolm George Locke announce his passing at the Central Regional Health Care Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on January 28, 2011 at the age of 87 years. Malcolm was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 12, Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekah. Malcolm retired from Abitibi. Predeceased by wife Ruby; parents Evelyn and George Locke, and brother Donald. Left with fond and loving memories are sons John (Corrie) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL., Reg of Smithers, BC., Jim (Gloria) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Passed away on: 04/01/2011

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edward John Mason announce his passing at the Queen Elizabeth 11 Hospital in Grand Prairie, AB on January 4, 2011, at the age of 75. Edward was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Club and he retired from Newfoundland Hydro. He is predeceased by parents James Mason and Julia (MacDonald). Left with fond and loving memories are sons James of Grand Prairie, AB and daughter of Linda (John Goulding) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Passed away peacefully in the presence of family on Jan. 1, 2011 at the age of 83. Jack was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Lillian. He leaves to mourn with cherished memories his children; Alec (Terri), Diane Biello, Heather Perry (Tony), Bill (Judy) and Allison Peyton (Grant). Grandchildren; Heather Samms, Ian Murdoch, Julian Biello, Paul Payan, Melanie Marchand, Melissa Halford, Ashley and Mark Murdoch and Matt and Abby Peyton. Great Grandchildren; Benjamin Marchand and Azaria and Sheldon Payan. He also leaves to mourn his sisters; Nell Spurrell (Wilfred) and Marguerite Chancey (Tom); brothers Cecil (Shirley) and Peter (Lucille). Harold Eldrick Parsons
, age 86, passed away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Saturday, January 1st, 2011. Left to mourn with loving memories are his wife Allie Doris Woodford Parsons, sons Eldrick of Pouch Cove, NL; Alvin of Quispamsis, NB; Keith (Sherry) of Corner Brook, NL; daughters Norma (Walter) Pinsent of Eastport, NL; Yvonne (Ray) Sweetapple of Corner Brook, NL; Bonita (Robert) Lijs of Halifax, NS; Sharon (Michael) Campbell of Dartmouth, NS; grandchildren Cassandra and Jocelyn Ivany, Chad and Melissa Parsons, Mary Elizabeth and Tommy Sweetapple, Alexandra Parsons, Anneke Lijs, Elliot Campbell, Amber and Jeri Parsons and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Harold was a cobbler, furniture maker, mason, sewer, homebuilder, gardener, boat builder, artist who used the resources at hand, his skills and his creativity to provide whatever was needed for his family, friends and community. Passed peacefully away January 8, 2011, Gertie Louise Patey, at the Carmelite House Senior Citizens' Home, Grand Falls-Windsor. She was 89 years of age. Mrs. Patey was a member of the Park Street Community Care for 36 years, and a lifetime member of the Home League. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Baxter; sisters, Annie, Hilda, Daisy and Suzie; brothers, George, Edgar, Harry, Leonard and William. Left to mourn are her daughters, Marie (Fred Moore) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL and Gladys (Gordon Cooper) of Cottlesville, NL; sons, Hubert (Lillian) of Elliott Lake, ON; Donald (Minnie) of Silverdale, NL; Harry (Angie) of Sudbury, ON; and Bruce (Beatrice) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. It is with sadness that the families of the late Hiram Mark Rideout announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, aged 89. Mark is predeceased by his parents, Josiah & Fanny Rideout; brother, Willis; sisters, Hilda Rideout, and Mary-Ann Nippard. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are; wife, Marjorie; sons, Garry (Patricia) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, and Keith Rideout of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; grandchildren, Joshua (Nicole) of Hamilton, ON, and Mark (Amanda) of St. John's NL. The visitation took place Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 7-9, Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 2-4 and 7-9 pm from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral Service took place Monday, January 24, 2011 at 2 pm from The Park Street Salvation Army Citadel with Majors Owen and Sharon Rowsell officiating. SWEENEY, Louise

It is with great sorrow and fond memories that the family of the late Louise Sweeney announces her unexpected passing at the Health Science Complex on January 19th, 2011. Louise loved life to the fullest, especially spending it with her devoted husband Frank, who predeceased her in December, 2010. A very thoughtful and considerate person, she always put others ahead of herself. A tireless individual, whether helping Frank with his business endeavours, raising her family, boating, enjoying time at the cabin or the motor home, her love of music and spending time with her grandchildren, she put all of her energies into ensuring everyone was welcome and looked after. Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Louise Poole, step sister Marie Keats, brother Ernest Poole as well as her Uncle William and Aunt Veronica Sharron, with whom she resided and played a large role during her childhood. Left with fond and loving memories are her four children: David (Joanne) Topsail, Margo (Ron Cashin) St. John's, Paul (Susan), and Keith (Lynn) of Grand Falls-Windsor. Also leaving to mourn, Grand Children: Danny, Mark, Tyler, Katherine, Peter, Kevin, Thomas, Michael, and Taylor, as well as her cousin Joe Sharron of Point Leamington, whom she considered a brother, along with a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Pallbearers were, David Sweeney, Keith Sweeney, Danny Sweeney, Kevin Cashin, Paul Sweeney, Ron Cashin, Mark Cashin, Peter Sweeney. Passed away on January 19, 2011 at the Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor, Nelson Wilmore Temple of Botwood. He was 75 years of age. Mr. Temple retired from car salesman in 1999. He was predeceased by parents Harold and Beatrice; brothers, Reginald; sister, Audrey. Left to mourn are his wife, Pansy; sons, Nelson Jr. (Debbie), Tony (Janice), Albert (Nadine), John, Sean (Bonita), Thomas (Wanda); daughter, Marva (Chris Lidstone); nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn are sisters, Lillian and Marion; brother, Roy and a circle of other relatives and friends. Major Calvin Collins will conduct funeral services at Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood with interment at the United Church Cemetery, Botwood.
