BARTLETT, Judy
Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer, Judy Geraldine Bartlett at the Central NL Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor. She was 63 years of age. Predeceased by parents, George & Emma Clarke, sister Joyce, grandchildren; Curtis King, Zachary Clarke and first husband, William John King. Left to mourn are husband, Lewis Bartlett; sons: Allen (Sylvia) King, Glendon (Diane) Clarke, David (Gloria) King, Gary (Melinda) Bartlett and Louie Bartlett; daughters: Barbara (Keith) Giles, Jackie King, Betty (Joe) Duggan and Mina (Clyde) Tibbo. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Elaine Feltham and Neta Barrett and brothers, Ern Clarke and Allan Clarke. 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral services by Pastor Shawn Bowers from Calvary Pentecostal Church, Bishop's Falls on Monday, December 13th. Interment at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Bishop's Falls. COOK, Roy
Peacefully passed away on Dec. 1, 2010 at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre in Botwood, Roy Francis Cooke of Bishop's Falls. He was 80 years old and retired from the Canadian National Railway in December 1984. Cookie, as he was commonly known, was a cherished family member and friend. In particular, his love for his three grandchildren knew no bounds and he was an enormous part of their lives. Mr. Cooke was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Caroline Cooke; wife, Elsie; and brother, Joseph. Left to mourn are his stepson, Don Pelley; sister, Eileen (Willis) King; brother, Ron (Elsie) Cooke; grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie and Donna Pelley; and a large circle of other family and friends, including his close friends at Rocky Lake, where he had a cabin and spent much of his time. Major Wycliffe Reid conducted funeral services at the Salvation Army Citadel in Bishop's Falls on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 with interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Homes in Bishop's Falls. Pallbearers were Don Pelley, Jennifer Pelley, Stephanie Pelley, Michael Cohen, Jim McCarthy and Ross Sellars.

DUNN, Walter
Passed Away On: 26/12/2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Walter Thomas Denzalo Dunn announce his passing on December 26, 2010 at the age of 77 years old. Walter retired from Abitibi-Price. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Margaret and John Dunn; brother James Dunn; and sister Elizabeth Fox. Walter leaves with fond and loving memories a son Christopher James (Denise) of Prince George, BC; and daughters Laurie-Ann (Scott) Kenny of Grand Falls-Windsor, and Susan-Lynn (Ian) Tabor of Kamloops, BC. He also leaves to mourn sister Barbara Korman, grand-children Ryan, Sarah, Desmond, Laura, Jack, and Jake. Pastor Jeff Slade will conduct the funeral service at the Evangel Pentecostal Church in Grand Falls-Windsor on Wednesday, April 13. Interment will follow in the Interfaith Cemetery in Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers are Chris Dunn, Scott Kenny, Desmond Kenny, Chris Robinson, Barry Luff, and Darren Luff. GOSSE, Derek
Passed away on: 12/12/2010
Passed peacefully away on December 12, 2010 in Deer Lake, Derek Brian Gosse. He was 53 years old. Predeceased by father, Edgar; brother, George; sister, Emma; brother-in-law, Michael Dinn, Freeman Austin. Left to mourn are mother, Annie; son, Geoffrey; sisters, Ida, Linda (Jim Cook), Denise (Alan Bishop); brothers, Edgar (Pearl), Lloyd (Inez), Gary (Judy), Bob (Rhonda), Terry (Linda), and Paul (Lisa). Major Owen Rowsell conducted funeral services at The Park Street Salvation Army Citadel in Grand Falls - Windsor on December 16, 2010. Interment was at The Salvation Army Cemetery. JUDGE, Edward

Passed away on: 26/12/2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edward Judge announce his passing at Corner Brook Long Term Centre on Sunday, December 26th, 2010 at the age of 82 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his sisters; Mary (Hirst) and Eileen (Wakeham), sister-in-law Vera Judge, nieces Donna (Hal Daley) of Rocky Harbour and Debbie (Derek Morrisey) of Steady Brook, his extended family; Charlotte (Dave Johns), Charlie (Loretta Roberts), Betty (Jake Ellsworth), Bernice Roberts (Rod Brake), Sylvia (Vance Burton), Lisa Cantwell (Michael Major) and Michael Cantwell (Heather Tucker) as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his long time companion Laura Roberts, parents; Mary & Joseph Judge of Grand Falls-Windsor, sister; Helen (Penton), brothers; William, James and Joseph. Visitation took place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Tuesday, December 28th, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service took place at Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, December 29th, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Major Frank Johnson officiating. LeDREW, Gerald (Jerry)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald (Jerry) Dean LeDrew announce that he passed peacefully away at the Central Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on December 8th, 2010 at the age of 75. Jerry was a member of Memorial United Church. Jerry retired from CBC as Radio Technician, which he started in 1966, in 1994. Jerry was predeceased by his wife Evelyn LeDrew (nee Hutchings) and has left to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Marguerite; sons Hedley (Elizabeth) LeDrew of Norman's Cove, NL; Boyd LeDrew of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; Tony (Karen) LeDrew of Ft. McMurray, AB; daughters Geraldine (Geoff) LeDrew-Wilson of Edmonton, AB; and Lynn (Jason) Martin of Halifax, NS. Also leaving to mourn Jerry are Matthew, Melane and Morgan LeDrew; Renee and Elly Wilson; Joshua Martin, Stephanie Buckle and Elizabeth Buckle; and a large circle of family and friends. Rev. Royden Reynolds conducted the funeral service at the Memorial United Church on Saturday, December 11th, 2010. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery in Grand Falls-Windsor. It is with sadness that the families of the late Barbara Manuel announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, aged 85. Barbara is predeceased by; husband, Joshua Benson; son, Randy; parents, Henry & Emma Dalley; brothers, Ben, Andrew, Jack, George, Frank, Dorman, Harold, and Harry; sisters, Anne, and Dorothy. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are: husband, Chesley; daughter, Lois (Robert) Ash; son, Allan (Valerie); step-daughter, Holly (Herb) Poole; daughter-in-law, Marlene; grandchildren, Erica (Shawn) Leveque, Joshua (Loralie), Emily, Peter, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, and Kayden; brother, Fred (Lucy); as well as a large circle or relatives and friends. PADDICK, Carol
Passed away peacefully at home in Grand Falls-Windsor, Carol Anne Paddick (nee Duggan) at age 68. Left to mourn are husband of 47 years John (Jack) Paddick, daughters Kelly Aiello of Calgary and Lyanne O'Leary of Oakville and son Brendan Paddick of Freeport, Bahamas. Also fondly remembered and loved by son-in-laws John Aiello and Randall O'Leary and daughter-in-law, Renee Vedd-Paddick. "Gram" will be forever missed in the hearts and memories of her six grandchildren, Shae Aiello (5), Braeden Aiello (9), Cayla Vedd-Paddick (17), Ian Paddick (19), Kern O'Leary (19) and Gary Paddick (23). She will be forever missed by brother Gregory Duggan of Morrisburg, Ontario, as well as a long list of family, friends and admirers. Carol was born on December 30, 1941 in Montreal and raised by her loving parents, Henry Duggan and Isabelle (Routhier) Duggan. She graduated from St. Mary's Nursing School in Montreal. While on a nursing internship at the Central Newfoundland Health Care Center in 1961, Carol caught the eye and captured the heart of a young husband-to-be student at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Upon graduating from Memorial, John set out to find Carol in Alexandria, Ontario determined to make her his bride. They were married on July 10, 1963 and lived briefly in Ontario. Carol and John moved back to where it all began for them in Grand Falls where Carol worked as a nurse for close to 20 years while husband John taught and was principal at Notre Dame Academy for 29 years. Her love and care for people in need extended out from her career into the greater community. She had a soft spot for strays; be they human or animal. Helping people was her life long passion. Her doors were always open to those in need and she was literally generous to a fault. Visitation will take place at the Central Funeral Home on Union Street in Grand Falls-Windsor on Monday, December 6th, 2010. Funeral services will take place at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 7th, 2010. The ceremony will be presided over by Reverend William Hearn. Pallbearers include Kern, Gary, Ian, Randall and John and family friend Ed Connolly as honourary pallbearer. As per Carol's wishes, her ashes will be spread at a future date over Lake St. Francis in Lancaster, Ontario...the place of her fondest memories of childhood, supporting John in earning his Master Degree in Ottawa and raising her family.

PAUL, James
It is with sadness that the families of the late James (Jim) Douglas Paul announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, aged 71. Jim is predeceased by his parents, Douglas and Fanny Paul; brothers, Ivan, Lloyd, Ross & Laverne; father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Myrtle Kinden; niece Rowena Sheppard. PECKFORD, Nath
Passed away on: 12/12/2010
Passed suddenly away on Dec. 12, 2010 at his home in Point of Bay, Nath Peckford. He was 67 years. Mr. Peckford retired from Bluebird Investments in 2008. He was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Dorothy Peckford; two brothers Max and Ambrose. Left to mourn are his wife, Margaret; son, Brad (Lori Anne); daughter, Natalie (Gary) Carpenter; four grandchildren, Natasha, Carson, Olivia and Daniel. Also leaving to mourn are sisters, Shirley (Arthur), Melinda; brothers, Harold (Linda), Cyril (Robina), Roy (Renee); three sister-in-laws, Gwen, Ethel, Sheila and a large circle of other relatives and friends. It is with sadness that the families of the late Keith Leonard Rendell announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, aged 58. He is predeceased by his parents, Donald & Maud; brother, Scott. ROBERTS, Denise
Passed away on: 03/12/2010
Passed peacefully away on December 3, 2010 at the Carmelite House after a courageous battle with cancer, Denise Roberts of Grand Falls-Windsor. She was 50 years of age. Left to mourn are parents, David & Joan Wicks; brother, John Kennedy (Prudence), sisters, Donna (Garry Kelly), Joan (Michel Boulanger), Pamela (Wilfred Frampton), and Ashley Wicks. Also leaving to mourn are nieces, Kayleigh, Sacha, Erica, Jessica, Hannah; nephews, Joshua, Mathieu, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Denise will be deeply missed by us all. She left us with the simple but important lesson to cherish the small things in life that make you happy, as she always did. It is with sadness that he families of the late Dorman E. Rolfe announce is passing at The Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, aged 92. Dorman is predeceased by his wife, Mary; parents, Stanley & Anne Rolfe; daughters, Ivy, and Barbara-Ann; sisters, Daisy Osmond, and Mabel Brett; brother-in-law, Ford Rolfe; son-in-law, Roy Warford. It is with sadness that the families of the late Gordon Bruce Stroud announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, aged 56 years. Gordon is predeceased by his parents, Bert and Ivy Stroud; brother, Albert. SILLS, David
Passed away on: 16/12/2010
Passed away on December 16th, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre. He was 68 years old. Predeceased by his father, Laurence Sills and father-in-law, Harry Bartlett. Left with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his loving wife of 41 years, Joan; children Stephanie (Steve) and Robert; precious grandson Joshua; mother Peggy Sills; brothers Brian Sills (Christina), Malcolm Sills (Suzanne); sister Rosemary Thomson (Robert); mother-in-law Beatrix Bartlett; brother-in-law Robert Bartlett (Judy); sister-in-law Fronie Adams (Brian); nieces and nephews, Daryn, Kimberly (Christopher), Lisa, Stephen, Mark, Katie, Jennifer, Matthew, Christopher (Natasha), Jonathan, Heidi, Natalie, and Jack. It is with great sadness that the family of the late "Pat" Ruth Jeanette Skinner announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre on December 31, 2010 at the age of 80 years. Pat retired from Jonlyn Jewllers, was Past President of the Cancer Society, a member of NL Sports Hall of Fame (Curling) and 5 time Senior Provincial Ladies Champion, Vi Pike Team. She is predeceased by her husband "Joe" Seymour T. Skinner. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Alan (Brenda) Howie Center, NS; Charles (Deborah) of Pasadina, NL; Douglas of Corner Brook, NL; Frank (Vessalina) Ealing, UK; and Lloyd (Laurie) of Bedford, NS. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Elisabeth James, and Rosalee Lloyd; grandchildren Bruce, Sarah, Chrissy, Stephen, Jessica, Rebecca and Charles; great grandchildren Nicolas and James, along with a large circle of family and friends. Passed away on December 9th at the Central NL Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, Garland Street at the age of 83. Mr. Street retired from CN Railway in 1988. Predeceased by parents William & Annie Street, sisters; Margaret, Sheila, Kathleen, Emily and brothers William & Alfred. STUCKLESS, Wallace
Passed away on: 16/12/2010
Passed away Dec. 16, 2010, at St. Clares Mercy Hospital, St. John's, after a lengthy but courageous illness, Wallace Robert Stuckless of Botwood at the age of 69 years. Mr. Stuckless was a salesman for 33 years and retired from Gordon Butler Company (Corner Brook) in 1997. He was past-president/life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 5; Botwood Kinsmen Club (chartered member, past-president), past-president of Exploits PC Association, K-40 (past-president), AOTS. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Joyce Stuckless; brothers, Gower, Jack, Tom and Hughie; sisters, Madge Dwyer, Daphne Thistle, Joan Mouland; nephews, Harold and Robert LeDrew; niece, Mary Dwyer; mother-in-law, Mabel Noel; brothers-in-law, John LeDrew, Matthew Dwyer, Malcolm Thistle and Lloyd Mouland. Rev. Stephen Barbour conducted funeral services at Trinity United Church, Botwood on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 with interment at the United Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Homes, Botwood. Pallbearers were Graham Hayter, Tom Power, Bob Snow, Wallace Sceviour, Gerald Stuckless, Jerry (Jed) Woolridge. It is with great sadness and fond memories that the family of the late Frank Sweeney announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Hospital on December 1st at the age of 82. A retired businessman whose ventures included F.H. Sweeney & Sons Ltd., Economy Stores, Economy Supermarkets, S. & S. Realty Co., Sweeney's Pontiac & Buick, and Sweeney Brother's Ltd. A true entrepreneur in every sense, although a man of few words, Frank was always thinking of ways that he could develop and create business opportunities. His passions were his family, boating, travelling and RVing. With his dry sense of humor, he loved life in every way. Predeceased by parents Herb and Florence; sister Shirley; brothers Ron and Joseph. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife of 52 years, Louise, and 4 children: David (Joanne) Topsail, Margo (Ron) St. John's, Paul (Susan), and Keith (Lynn) of Grand Falls-Windsor;Also leaving to mourn, Grand Children: Danny, Mark, Tyler, Katherine, Peter, Kevin, Thomas, Michael, and Taylor. Brothers Leo (Marjorie), Herb (Matilda), Bernard (Daphne), and John (Joy), and Sisters Mary (Fred), Lucy (Tom), Patricia (Bill), and Joan, along with a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Funeral service conducted at the Immaculate Conception Parish by Rev. Father Hearn on Saturday, December 4th, at 2:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Central Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Children's Wish Foundation.
