POWER, Sean
Passed on: August 14th, 2012

It is with the deepest regret that we announce that Sean Cyril Power passed away peacefully in Newfoundland on August 14, 2012, at the young age of 51. Cancer may have taken Sean's life, but it never altered his free and positive spirit. His love and pride for his wife, children, family and friends are an inspiration to all who knew him. God has inherited a new angel and we are eternally grateful for the time we had with him. Sean was born in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, and made his home in Oakville, Ont., with his beautiful and loving wife, Carole Perreault and their amazing children Adam (aged 16) and Kaitlin (aged 14). Sean was surrounded by his family and friends (in person and in spirit) and just as he lived his life, he made the most of the last days of his battle with cancer. Sean is predeceased by his father, Jerome Power; sister-in-law, Susan. Sean is survived by his mother, Margaret (Grand Falls-Windsor); brothers, Tom (Florence) of Grand Falls Windsor, NL, Jerry (Gisele) of Mississauga, Ont., Brian (Susan) of Ottawa, Ont., Bill (Dee) of Ottawa, Ont., and Darren (Roseanne) of Brampton, Ont.; sisters, Tina (Dave) Giles of Brantford, Ont., Bernadine (Jim Courtney) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, and Karen (Donnie) Tulk of Deer Lake, NL; the Perreault family, 25 nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also left to mourn are many players, fellow coaches and special friends: all who will miss him dearly. Funeral arrangements were coordinated by Parsons Funeral Home in Deer Lake, NL, and Glen Oaks Memorial Chapel in Oakville, Ontario. A funeral service was held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Grand Falls-Windsor, on Saturday, August 18, 2012, followed by a celebration of life in his home town of Grand Falls-Windsor. Funeral and burial service was held in Glen Oaks Memorial Chapel in Oakville, Ontario, on Sunday August 26th, 2012.
