BOYD, MADGE LOUISE
1936 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Madge Boyd announce her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on April 2, 2014 at the age of 78. Madge was a member of the Salvation Army, Pilley's Island. In her early years she worked as a teacher and store clerk. She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd Boyd; her parents Carrie & Ernest Goudie; her brother Jack Goudie and her sister Grace Hillier. Left with fond and loving memories is her son Wycliffe Boyd (Wilma) of Pilley's Island and her daughters Joan Roberts (Perry) of Triton and Maxine Roberts (Craig) of Triton. Also leaving to mourn are her sisters Jean Mackenzie, Ruth Noseworthy (Lester), Joyce Bartlett; her brother Cyril Goudie (Betty); grandchildren Janie Fudge (Mike), Justin Roberts, Jill Roberts, Hope Roberts, Lauren Boyd and her great grandchildren Spencer Fudge, Brady Fudge and Nigel Fudge. Major Lindsey Oxford will conduct the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Pilleys Island on Sunday, April 6, 2014. Interment will be at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Pilley's Island. Pallbearers are Wycliffe Boyd (Son), Perry Roberts (Son-in-law), Craig Roberts (Son-in-law), Janie Fudge (Granddaughter), Jill Roberts (Granddaughter) and Cyril Goudie (Brother). Honorary pallbearers are Justin Roberts (Grandson) and Lauren Boyd (Granddaughter). Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes. CLEEVES, Elise

Elise Lydia Cleeves (formerly Lamarre, Antle nee Vineham)
passed away in the early hours of April 11, 2014 in Edmonton, Alberta. She was born in Grand Falls, Nfld. on October 2, 1935 to Virtue Vineham of Lewisporte, Nfld. Elise is survived by her loving husband Al, her four children Johanne Lamarre, Louise McGinnis (David), Paul Lamarre (Liz) and David Lamarre (Donna), seven grandchildren: Michael, Jade, Kathleen, Paige, Christopher, Dylan, Parker and a great granddaughter Annwyn. As she requested, there will be no service, and a simple cremation has been carried out. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are asked to make a donation in her name to one of: The Canadian Diabetes Association, an Alzheimer's Association or support group, to the Humane Society/SPCA or an animal shelter of their choice. Planting a tree or donating a bench with a view of the ocean, river or pond for passersby to rest was also among her last wishes.
Elise was always a bit of a gypsy and one of the expressions she picked up in her travels was, as they say in Texas, "Keep on keeping on", so that's what we'll do.

FOLKES, Kayward
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Kayward Folkes of Springdale announce his passing at the Green Bay Health Center in Springdale on April 9, 2014 at the age of 76. Kayward retired from Diamond Drilling. He was predeceased by his parents, Pearce & Fanny Folkes and two sisters, Lillian & Gladys. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Yvonne; sons: Kevin (Sophie) of Lloydminster, Peter (Lori) of Fort MacMurray, Paul of Lloydminster, Perry (Peggy) of Springdale; stepson Scott (Danielle) of Springdale; stepdaughter Natasha Card (Freddie) of Badger. Also leaving to mourn his passing are his 10 grandchildren, 3 step-grandsons, 1 great grandson, 4 brothers - Edward, Allister, Arthur, Junior and 1 sister Elsie. Pastor Lindsay Foster will conduct the funeral service from the Pentecostal Church in Springdale on Sunday, April 13, 2014. Interment will be at the United Cemetery in Springdale. Pallbearers will be Lindsay Tizzard, John Saunders, Alfonsus Folkes, Stirling Folkes, Stacey Folkes and Jeffrey Saunders. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear, Jim Maidment and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

GIRVAN, Gary Ormond
1940-2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gary Ormond Girvan announce his passing at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor on April 19, 2014 at the age of 73. He was an active member of the the Canadian Red Cross. Gary served as an R.C.M.P Officer, Grand Falls Municipal Police and was Building Inspector for the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor. Gary loved spending quality time with his many family and friends. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and wood-working. Predeceased by father Garnet Girvan. Left with fond and loving memories are his loving and devoted wife Peggi; son Bradley (Jutta) of Geary, New Brunswick and daughter Lisarae of Grand Falls-Windsor. Also leaving to mourn are mother Mildred Girvan; sisters Joan, Judy, Joyce and Linda; brothers Bill, Roy, Larry and Gerald; grandchildren Nicholas, Gary, Devin, Rebecca, and Morgan and a large circle of family and friends.

HICKMAN, Christine Elizabeth
1941-2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Christine Elizabeth Hickman announce her passing at the Halifax Infirmary in Halifax, NS on April 28, 2014 at the age of 72 after a brief illness. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Choir, The ACW, and various church committees. Christine was predeceased by her parents Simeon and Elizabeth Hedges and brother Edward Hedges. Left with fond and loving memories are her children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and extended family, friends, and acquaintances. The Reverend Randy Lockyer will conduct the funeral service at Holy Trinity Anglican Church on May 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Holy Trinity Anglican Church Memorial Fund.

KELLY, Terence
1938-2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Terence Kelly announce his passing at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor on April 24, 2014 at the age of 75. Terence was a member of the Elk's Club #59, The Legion and The RCME - Reserve Canadian Military Engineers. He retired from Kelly's Pub as Owner. Predeceased by mother Rowena Kelly; father John Kelly and brother William Kelly. Left with fond and loving memory are his son Terence Kelly (Gloria Lindahl) of Hammonds Plains, NS; daughters; Karen (Brian Beresford) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Laurie (Duncan Johnson) of South Maitland, NS and Lorna Kelly of Grand Falls-Windsor. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Caroline Dow and Patricia Coddington and families; brother David Kelly and family, as well as the family of Terence's late brother William Kelly. grandchildren; Jessica, Jonathan, Joelle, Dakota, Garret, Erika, and Leslie and great grandson Declan. Father William Hearn will conduct the funeral service at the Cathedral of The Immaculate Conception on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearer is Jonathan Beresford. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rankin Lane, Tina Mercer and Dave Mercer and Members of the Elk's Lodge #59. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Michael Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Elk's Fund for Children. McGINN, Ruby
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruby McGinn announce her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on April 13th, 2014 at the age of 86. She was a member of the Salvation Army Corps, Pilley's Island. Ruby is predeceased by her husband Roland McGinn; sisters Vina Pittman and Jaqueline Weir and brother Harry Pittman. Left with fond and loving memories are sons David (Rose) of Quebec and Calvin (Rhonda) of Pilley's Island; daughters Elizabeth (Paul) of Grand Falls-Windsor; Juanita (Reuben) of Triton and Velma (Boyce) of Triton. Also leaving to mourn are six sisters Daphne, Margaret, Pauline, Bonnie, Ina, and Norma; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great - grandchildren and a circle of friends and family. Major Lindsey Oxford will conduct the funeral service at the Salvation Army, Pilley's Island on Wednesday, April 16th, 2014. Interment will be at the United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.

O'TOOLE, Walter
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Walter J. O'Toole announce his passing at home in Buchans on April 2, 2014 at the age of 73. Walter was a member of the K of C. He retired from Asarco Mines in Buchans. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Esther; sisters Annie Callahan and Joan Walsh. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Clara; brothers Bob (Frances) of Buchans, Charlie (Louise) of Buchans and Jim (Sharon) of Pasadena; sisters Mary Barron of St. Johns, Helen (Jim) Cody of Harbour Grace; Elizabeth (Ron) Murphy of Paradise. Also leaving to mourn are Cyril and Shirley Lee, and Betty Gurman as well as a circle of family and friends. Father Anselmo Landoy will be conducting the funeral service at the St Theresa's Church in Buchans at 11 A.M. on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Interment will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.

SAUNDERS, JOHN NATHAN
1929 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Saunders of Springdale announce his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on April 17, 2014 at the age of 84. John was a member of the Men's Fellowship Club and Salvation Army Church. He retired from Springdale Garage. John was predeceased by his parents Timothy & Mildred (nee Butt); sisters Pearl, Annie, Violet, Joyce; brother Art and daughter-in-law Nola. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Maisie (Grant); sons Scott (Sharron0 of Plattsville, On., Guy (Catherine) of Labrador City; daughters Ruth (Don) of Springdale, Dale (Terry) of Appleton and Sherri of Kitchener. Also leaving to mourn his passing are his grandchildren Dana, Chad, Heather, Stephanie, Joseph, Jodi & Jonathan, Great grandchildren Theresa, Lily, Rachel, Rylee, Caysie, Jack, Calleigh & Carson. Majors Collin and Jacqueline Abbott will conduct the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on Sunday, April 20, 2014. SULLIVAN, Jeremiah
With profound sadness, the family of the late Jed Sullivan announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls - Windsor on April 1, 2014 at the age of 79. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Shelley; brother Joe Sullivan (Darlene); sisters Geraldine Griffin, Mary Hayward (Bill), Anne Murphy (Leo), Diana Curran and sister-in-law Ruth Sullivan. Jed is predeceased by his wife Marina (nee Hillier); parents Peter and Annie (nee Cashin) Sullivan; baby sister Margaret; brothers Ronald, Peter, James, Leonard, and William. Jed also leaves a large circle of extended family and friends who loved him dearly. Jed was a valued member of the Knights of Columbus and a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Parish. He worked with Abitibi Price for his entire career and retired at the age of 58. Jed's love of the outdoors started from a very young age and he was an avid trout and salmon fisher. Many a day was spent hunting or fishing across the river with his buddies. He was a great storyteller, and he loved nothing better than connecting with people through conversation and laughter. He enjoyed bowling, playing darts and especially his Friday evening card club. Jed cherished his family and the time he shared with them. He loved being at the cabin, having the fire in with a big game of growl in progress, or just relaxing and watching the water. Jed was a kind and generous soul who had a smile for everyone. We will all miss him.

1938 - 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Wells announce her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on April 20, 2014 at the age of 75. Margaret was predeceased by her son Kevin; her husband Freeman; parents Agnes & Joseph Smith; brothers Edward, Baxter, Alton, Fred, William & Robert; sisters Alma, Nellie, Olive & Minnie. Left with fond and loving memories is her son Perry (Brenda) of Springdale; daughters Kathy (Tom) of Guelph, Betty (Chris) of St. John's and Pauline (Quent) of King's Point. Also leaving to mourn are Grandchildren-Stephen, Travis, Kent, Blair, Bradley & Megan; Great grandchildren-Destiny, Hailey & Tate. Majors Collin & Jacqueline Abbott will conduct the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on April 23, 2014. Interment will be at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Springdale.
