Passed on: April 17th, 2012

Passed peacefully away, in the presence of his loving family, on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Hoyles Home, Ronald Newman Newhook, aged 86 years. Predeceased by his mother Pearl, father Harry, brother Frank, and special aunt and uncle, Amy and Ford Dart. Devoted father, leaving to mourn children: Bonnie (Ron) Richards, Cherie Newhook , Robert (Eva) Newhook, Harry Newhook (Ellen Dalton-deceased), Cynthia (Leo) Buckle, Sheila Newhook (Craig Button) and their mother Marie Newhook. Dear grandfather of Michael, Robbie, Kerri Lyn, Ian, Victoria, Alexandria, Matthew, Maria, Mark, Andrew, and Linda, and great-grandfather of Leah and Isabelle. Also leaving to mourn, brothers Albert (Faye) Newhook, Bob (Maude) Newhook, sister Amy (Jack) Burden and sister-in-law Shirley Budgell.
Born, raised, and married in Badger, NL, Ron moved to Corner Brook in 1951 where he raised his family and was an active member of the community. As president and general manager of North Star Cement Limited and member of the board of directors of Atlantic Minerals, Ron loved his work and was very appreciative of all who worked with him. Ron was a lifelong member of the Corner Brook Rotary Club and over the years served as Secretary Treasurer and Honorary Secretary Treasurer of the Rotary Musical Festival. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed these activities with his good friends Sterling Randell and Arthur Lundrigan.
Special thanks to the caring staff at Hoyles-Escasoni Home for all their help and support. Also, thanks to niece Joanne Rose for your love and care. At his request, there will be no service or visitation. SELLARS, Raymond Howard

Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, April 19, 2012, Raymond Howard Sellars of Grand Falls-Windsor; formerly of Buchans, age 86 years. Predeceased by his loving wife: Lily; brother: Reginald; parents: Gideon and Ruby. Leaving to mourn, children: Judy Durant, Carbonear, Ross (Ruby) Sellars, Grand Falls-Windsor and Joy (Gary) Baker, Harbour Grace; six precious grandchildren: Joanne (Darrell) Mercer, John Durant, Roger (Sonya Piercey) Sellars, Jason Sellars, Kathryn Baker and Kristen Baker; two darling great-grandsons: Luke and Alex Mercer; one brother: Milton (Marion) Sellars, Toronto, ON; sisters-in-law: Laurene Sellars, Oshawa, ON and Rosie Lear, Godrich, ON; brother-in-law: John Lear, Port de Grave; special friend: Pearl Osmond, Grand Falls-Windsor; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear and then at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor. Funeral service took place on Sunday, April 22 at Memorial United Church, Grand Falls-Windsor. Interment was in the United Cemetery, Union Street, Grand Falls-Windsor. Donations in his memory may be made to Memorial United Church, P.O. Box 454, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, A2A 2T9. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Noel's Funeral Home, Carbonear.
