BURKE, Wilson - Passed peacefully away at his home in Buchans on April 8, 2009, Wilson Burke age 66 years. Predeceased by parents, Hedley and Elizabeth Burke and brother-in-law, Hugh Partridge. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Linda; sons, Jonathan (Julie) of Rencontre East, NL, Stephen (Alicia) of Eastern Passage, NS, David of Buchans, NL; daughter, Susan (Scott) Hutchings of Buchans, NL; brother, Elywin (Beverley) of Clarenville, NL; sisters, Alice Partridge of Greely, ON, Marilyn (Levi) Cox of Cambridge, ON, Elaine of Buchans, NL, Shirley (Mike) Samson of Gatineau, NL, grandchildren Lillian, Abigail. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Wilson was a hockey icon in Buchans, for both senior and minor hockey as a player and a coach for five decades. Funeral service was held at the Buchans United Church, Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment followed at Buchans Community Cemetery. BUTLER, Melba L. (nee Higgins) - (Nov. 20, 1929 - April 27, 2009) - It is with sadness that the families of the late Melba Butler (neé Higgins) announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, aged 79 years. She is predeceased by husband, Garfield; sons, Harry, William and Norman; brothers, Sidney and George Higgins; sisters, Theresa McMan and Carrie Bennett. Left to mourn with fond loving memories are son, Dave of Botwood, NL; Ilene of Botwood, NL, Marilyn of Botwood, and Sharon of Oshawa, ON; brother, Fred Higgins of Port Blandford, NL as well as a large circle of relative and friends. The funeral service took place, Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Botwood, NL with Major Dinzel Baggs officiating. Visitation took place Wednesday, April 29 at 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. from Botwood Funeral Home, 147 Commonwealth Drive, Botwood, NL. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Pallbearers were Leonard Woolridge, Randy Woolridge, Graham Hancock, Elmer Butler, Terry Fisher and Wayne Parsons. Honorary Pallbearer was Paul Coates. CATER, Raymond Boyd (BA, CHRP; Life member PM Maple Leaf Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 600 GRC) - It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Raymond (Ray) Cater on April 18, 2009, in his 78th year, at the Mississauga Trillium Health Center. Ray was predeceased by his parents, John (Jack) Cater and Elsie (Downton) Cater. Ray is the dearly loved husband and best friend of wife, Barbara Eversfield (nee Jones) to whom he was married for 54 years. He is survived by his sons, Douglas (Shirley), David (Kate), Bruce (Karen); grandchildren, Tim, Tara, Ian, Allison, Emily, Paige, Spencer and Sam and is fondly remembered by his many beloved brothers and sisters and their families. Long-time resident of Etobicoke, Ray was a graduate of Mt. Allison University (Class of '53). He was a Human Resources professional who enjoyed a successful career at Canada Post. Ray was an active member of Bloordale United Church; past president of the Maple Leaf Lodge; past president of the Rameses Shriners, Mississauga Shrine Club Founders Unit 1888; and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters CRT 83. Ray enjoyed life with the family at both their home in Etobicoke and equally at the cottage. He was very proud of both his family and his Newfoundland heritage. Visitation took place on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Turner and Porter Funeral Chapel located at 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga, ON. A private family service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

EVANS, Katie Margaret (Brown) - Passed peacefully away at the Carmelite House April 6, 2009 at the age of 91. Born February 6, 1918 at Grand Falls, she was a wonderful and doting wife, mother and grandmother who loved to knit and bake, especially raisin buns for her grandchildren. Katie loved their cabin at Evans Point, Northern Arm where she and Wilfred spent most of their retirement. Predeceased by her husband, Wilfred Evans; daughter, Margaret Stirling; parents, Thomas and Sarah (Hefford) Brown; brothers, Robert, John, Charles, Arthur, Harry, Frederick and sisters, Bessie Silk, Alfreda Silk, Bertha O'Gay, Annie Stacey, Effie Brown, Sarah Brown, Mary Martin and Ethel Mercer. Leaving to mourn are son, David (wife, Sandra Burke); son-in-law, Leonard Stirling; grandchildren, Jane Soper (Bill); Bill Stirling (Marie); Joanne Stirling; Susan Burry (Randy); Sarah and Rebecca Evans; and great-grandchildren, Matthew and Katie Soper, Jenny, Evan and Alex Stirling; Aaron Stirling; brother-in-law, Albert Evans; sisters-in-law, Marie Evans and Hazel Evans and a large circle of relatives and friends. Special thanks to the staff of the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre, and the Carmelite House where mom received wonderful nursing care. Also special thanks to Dr. Larry Alteen, Dr. King Jim and Dr. Jim King. Arrangements were entrusted to Central Funeral Homes where a memorial visitation was held April 8, 2009. FOSTER, Golda - Passed peacefully away on April 13, 2009, at her home in Brampton, ON, Golda Foster, formerly of Badger, NL, in her 60 year. She is predeceased by her parents, Lloyd and Maisie Foster; brother, Tony; sister, Trixie and grandson, Brodie. Left with fond and loving memories are daughters, Raylene (Dave), Gina (Glen); sons, Timothy (Amber), Christopher (Stephanie); grandchildren, Candace, Brooklyn, Daylon, Nolan and Ayden. Also brothers, Ralph (Yvonne), Kirk, James (Viola), Lloyd (Lisa); sisters, Phyllis (Don Byrne), Bonnie (John Zaminskis), Patsy (Boyd Gulliford), Dale (Michael Ricketts), Joan (Luis Zamora) and friend and confidante for the past 14 years, Richard Graftstein. Also leaving to morn are nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, other relatives and a large circle of friends. Funeral services was held on Friday, April 17, 2 p.m. at North Bramalea United Church, Brampton, ON. Her remains have been cremated and will be brought home to Badger. Memorial visitation will take place in Badger, Tuesday, April 21 at 2-4 p.m., 7-9 p.m. at the Badger Untied Church, with the Memorial Service being held on Wednesday, April 22 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Raymond Cole officiating. Burial will follow at the Badger Interdenominational Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Badger United Church or the Interdenominational Cemetery Fund.

GRAND, Gerry (1917 -2009) - E. Geraldine Grand, known to her friends as Gerry, passed away on April 1, 2009, in Concord, California, following a heart attack the week before. Gerry had been a resident of California since 1983, when she retired at Loring AFB, Maine, from a lifelong career in accounting with the Federal Civil Service, and relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area to be closer to her only son, Keith, and his family. Born Geraldine Way on September 24, 1917, Gerry was one of nine children of Phillip and Maud Way of Grand Falls, Newfoundland, Canada, and outlived her five brothers and three sisters. She was married to Gerald Grand, a career U.S. Air Force veteran, who predeceased her and is buried in the Veterans' cemetery in Augusta, Maine, where her cremated remains will be interred in an adjoining plot. Seemingly never sick a day in her life, she enjoyed an active retirement that included thousands of volunteer hours at the Pleasant Hill Senior Center, frequent helpings of Bingo and was a regular on the Seniors' tour buses to surrounding casinos. When it was time to prepare for her final trip, mercifully it involved only a brief stay in the hospital. Gerry is survived by her son Keith and his wife Rosa, and granddaughters Rossana, Alicia, Anna and Jennifer. Other living relatives include her nephews and nieces, and their families, who reside in Canada, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law in Florida, and their childrens' families. Memorial Services will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 199 Brandon Road, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523, on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 10:00AM. Donations may be made in her name to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

GREEN, Alice Florence - Alice was born in Herring Neck, Newfoundland on June 29, 1915 and passed peacefully away into the presence of her Lord on April 9, 2009 in Powell River, B.C., at the age of 93. She is survived by her children, Hubert (Judy), Joyce (Ray) Osmond, Lloyd (Blanche), Marion (Olin) Stride, Wallace (Debbie), Andrew (Nancy), all of Powell River, and Norma (Marvin) Welsh of Bishop's Falls, Newfoundland, as well as 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis in 1991. A funeral service was held Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Evangel Pentecostal Church with Reverend Ken Lamden officiating. Donations may be made to Childcare Plus or the Gideons, if desired. Arrangements entrusted to Stubberfield Funeral Home Ltd.

GREEN, Hilda Gladys - Passed peacefully away on April 10, 2009, Hilda (nee Benson) Green, and is now in Heaven, reunited with her husband, Lloyd, who predeceased her on May 15, 2008. Hilda's sister, Laura Hamlyn and brothers, Max, Bill and Lester have also predeceased her. Hilda was born in Hillview, Trinity Bay, August 24, 1920 and moved to Grand Falls-Windsor as a young child. Some people may remember her from her years at The Cabot House in Grand Falls-Windsor; some will remember her from her years at Riff's Ltd. in Grand Falls-Windsor; others will remember her voice from "Revival Echoes," a radio broadcast from her home church, Windsor Pentecostal Church. In 1975 Lloyd and Hilda moved to St. Catharines, Ontario to be near their growing family. Left to mourn, son, Everett (Nancy) and Everett's children, Cindi and Chad; daughter, Valerie and her children Rodney (Samantha) and Bryan; eight great-grandchildren and a large number of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Hilda is also mourned by her brothers, Allan (Rowena), Roy (Jean), Wallace (Diane), and Kevin (Judy). The funeral took place April 14, 2009 at the Hulse and English Funeral Home in St. Catharines, Ontario.

GROUCHY, Matthew - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Matthew Francis Grouchy announce his passing at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at the age of 68 years. Matt was retired from the C.N. Road Cruiser. Predeceased by parents, William and Mary Grouchy; sister, Margaret Cook and brother, John Grouchy. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Linda Grouchy; son, Todd Grouchy (Belinda) of Labrador City; daughters, Helen Saunders (Sterling) of Bishop's Falls and Lynn Adams (Kirk) of Corner Brook. Also left to mourn are his grandchildren, Krystal, Justin, Matthew, and Nathan; step-grandchildren, Jennifer and Jenine Saunders; step-great-grandchildren, Emily Granter and Caeden Saunders; brothers, Bill (Dorothy) of Gander; Jim (Beaulah) of St. John's; sisters Carmel (Gerald) Woods of BC, Patsy of Grand Falls-Windsor and Alice Dean of Grand Falls-Windsor; sisters-in-law, Irene (Everett) Goobie of Oakville, Ont.; Caroline (George) Guy of Grand Falls-Windsor and Helen (Bob) Kirkpatrick of New Brunswick, as well as a large circle of family and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Father William Hearn at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Monday, April 27, 2009 with interment at the Interfaith Cemetery on Union Street, Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers were Sterling Saunders, Ralph Kirkpatrick, Brian Grouchy, Jim McCarthy, Ivan Brenton and Ed Cashin. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.

HOULAHAN, Rita (neè Smith) - (March 27, 1921 - April 13, 2009) - It is with sadness that the families of the late Rita P. Houlahan announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, aged 88 years. She is predeceased by her husband, William; parents, Joseph and Alice Smith of Gooseberry Cove, Trinity Bay, NL and sister, Ann Hemple of Paxton, Illinois. KEEFE (nee Blake) Judy - (March 16, 1954-April 13, 2009) - It is with sadness that the families of the late Judy Keefe announce her sudden passing at her residence in Peterview, NL, aged 55 years. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Hilda Blake; brothers, Pierce, Stan, Wilson and Morris. Left to mourn with fond loving memories are husband, Sterling; brothers, Kenneth (Gloria), Elias (Jane), Edgar (Myrtle), Ross (Marjorie), Benson (Marion), Bond (Frances) and Roland (Madeline); sisters, Dinah (Sam) and Betty (Randolph); as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. The funeral service took place Friday, April 17, 2009 from the Salvation Army Church, Peterview, NL, with Major W. Kean officiating. Pallbearers were Ken Blake Jr., Darren Blake, Darrell Blake, Reston Blake, George Blake and Gary Blake. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Botwood Funeral Home, Botwood, NL.

KENT, Harold Gordon Ronald - It is with great sadness that the family of Harold Kent announces his sudden passing on April 11, 2009 at the age of 43. He leaves to mourn his wife, Sonia Kent of Burton, NB; children, Alicia, Natasha and Jacob Kent of Burton, NB; parents, Elizabeth and Ronald Kent of Bishop's Falls, NL; sisters, Clarice (Mike) Gillespie of Waterville, NB, Rhonda (Jerry) Stride of St. John's, NL and Bernadette (Shannon) Kent of Grand Falls, NL; brothers, Wayne (Dale) Kent of Bishop's Falls, NL and Clarence (Kim) Kent of Red Deer, AB; nieces, Megan, Emily, Jackie and Jessica; nephews, Brandon, Brady and Ryan; and great nieces, Allie/Anne and Morgane. Corporal H.G. Kent was awarded in recognition for 14 years of service to Canada. He began his career in NL in the reserves reaching the rank of Sergeant. He was a 2 RCR Infantry Soldier with the 2nd Battalion from 1989 until he retired in October 1996. Corporal H.G. Kent spent time defending his country overseas in the former Yugoslavia in 1992/93 and then again in a second tour in 1994/95. Harold was diagnosed with type II diabetes during his second tour and given a medical release from the military. Harold worked as Commissionaire at CFB Gagetown up until his death. Visitation was held at the Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, April 15 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 16th, 2009 from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Ken Weir officiating. Interment will take place in Newfoundland.

MERCER, Selma (nee Faulkner) - Passed peacefully away at the age of 82 on April 2, 2009 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC. Predeceased by husbands, Harry Kilpatrick, Tom Pitcher and Bud Mercer. Left with fond memories are daughters, Svea Budden of Victoria and Lynn Strain of Surrey, BC and sons, Skip (Gayle) Kilpatrick of Gig Harbor, WA, Tom Pitcher of Mackenzie, BC, Selm (Colleen) Pitcher, of Abbotsford, BC; Jeff Pitcher of Vernon, BC and Sean Pitcher of Victoria; step-daughter, Debbie (Paul) Williams of Hamilton and step-son, Gene Mercer of Calgary. Also, granddaughters, Kelly, Jackie (Mike Nassey) and Danica and grandsons, Sean (Kate), Selm, Lindy and Thomas as well as two great-grandsons, Dallas and Jordan. Also left to mourn is brother, Seth (Hope) Faulkner of Phoenix, AZ, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends.

MOORE, Robert William Carl - Passed peacefully away April 26, 2009 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Robert Moore at 71 years of age. Mr. Moore retired from the Department of Highways. Predeceased by father, Albert; mother, Winifred; brother, Warren and son-in-law, Larry Waterman. Left to mourn are wife Florence Moore; daughters, Audrey Patey (Sean Patey) of Brandon, MB; Shirley Hewitt (Rocky Angell) of Noggin Cove, NL and Barbara Waterman of Grand Falls-Windsor. Also leaving to mourn sister Vera Cushing (husband Bob); sister-in-law, Loretta; brothers, Terry (Patsy-deceased), Allan (Phyllis), Charles (Doreen), John (Wavey), Gord (Phyllis), Bruce (Shirley); six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverend Linda Burt conducted funeral services at First United Church, Grand Falls-Windsor on Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Pallbearers were brothers, John Moore, Charles Moore; son-in-law Rocky Angell; Lorne Barnes, Steve Murray; and nephew, Darren Moore. NOSEWORTHY, James (Dec. 4, 1919 - April 5, 2009) - It is with sadness that the families of the late James L. Noseworthy announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Aged 89. Predeceased by his parents, Harold and Pearl Noseworthy; grandson, Graham; brother, Gordon and sister, Jean. Left to mourn with fond loving memories are his wife, Marjorie; daughters, Sandra, (Cyril) Lanning of Botwood, NL, Libby (Royce) Boss of Nova Scotia; sons, Gordon (Barbara) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL & David (Colleen) of Alberta; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. The funeral service took place Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 2 p.m. from Memorial United Church, Church Road, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, with Rev. Howard Crooks officiating. The internment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Union Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Visitation took place Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. PARKS, William Alfred (1941-2009) - It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Alfred Parks announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on April 9, 2009, at the age of 67. He was a member of the Catholic Church in Badger. William retired from Dept. of Highways. Predeceased by his mother, Mary; father, William; sisters, Theresa and Veronica; brothers, Edmund and Alexander. Leaving to mourn two sisters, Elizabeth of British Columbia, Ann (Gordon) of St. Andrews; one brother, John of Corner Brook; 13 nieces and nephews; special friends Frank and Anna, David and Marilyn. Father Eugene Morris conducted the funeral service at the Sacred Heart Church in Badger on April 11, 2009. Interment was at the Catholic cemetery in Badger. Pallbearers were Frank Armstrong, Gerald Mercer, Gerard Mercer, Bill Foley. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mike Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.

PITCHER, Cyril James "Sash"-1931-2009 - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cyril James Pitcher "Sash" announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, April 22, 2009 at the age of 77. Sash was retired from Abitibi Price. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Iris; sons, Jim (Wanda) of Victoria, BC, Paul (Val) of Comox, BC, Jeff (Fiona) of Vancouver, BC and daughter, Margot (Dave) of Grand Falls-Windsor. Also left to mourn are his brother, Ray; sister, Winnie and grandchildren, Emily, Adam, Claire, Matthew, Kurt, Jayne and Jack, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Reverend Randy Lockyer conducted the funeral at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Friday, April 24, 2009. Interment was at the Interfaith Cemetery on Union Street. Pallbearer was his daughter, Margot. Honorary pallbearers were Kurt Hamlyn, Matthew Pitcher, David Hamlyn, Gerald Budgell, Ray Pitcher and Jim Evans. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.

REGULAR, Georgina - (Oct. 5, 1918-April 3, 2009) - It is with sadness that the families of the late Georgina Regular announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, April 3, 2009, at the age of 90. She is predeceased by her husband, Angus; son, Arthur; daughter-in-law, Verna; and son-in-law, Tom Elliott. Left to mourn with fond loving memories are daughters, Vera Elliott, Lorraine (Rex) Whitt; sons, Bruce (Florence) and Jim (Brenda); eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. The funeral service took place Monday, April 6, 2009 from St. James Anglican Church, Botwood, Newfoundland, with Rev. David Coffin officiating. Donations can be made to St. James Memorial Church Fund. Pallbearers were Bruce Regular, Michael Regular, Jim Regular, Paul Regular, Rex Whitt and Derrick Woolridge. Honorary pallbearer was Kirk Regular. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Botwood Funeral Home.

RIDEOUT, Agnes Catherine - Passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, Agnes Catherine Rideout of Botwood. Agnes was born on Aug. 21, 1926 in St. John's and passed away April 7, 2009. She was 82 years of age. She was predeceased by her parents, Gerald and Agnes Byrne; brother, Gerald; sister, Betty; son Bob; daughter-in-law, Joanna. In 1945 Agnes met the love of her life on the day he came back from overseas. They were married June 25, 1946. She was a devoted and loving wife to Bob for 62 years. They were blessed with four children. She was a member of the Legion Ladies Auxillary but due to illness she had to resign. She was a avid baker and loved to socialize. She was a wonderful mother and friend to her family. She leaves to mourn her loving husband, Bob; daughter, Lorene (Terry); sons, Gerry (Beatrice), Maurice (Annetta); daughter-in-law, Annabelle. Also leaving to mourn are 11 grandchildren, Rob (Lisa), Daniel (Dion), Gerald (Theresa), Heather (Larry), Shannon (Joy), Christina (Wade), Stephanie (Jamie), Michael, Jeff (Sally), Sean (Lisa) and Catherine (Jason); 13 great-grandchildren, Robyn, Terri Lee, Daniel, Michelle, Shanna, Kayla, Rachel, Matthew, Scott, Simon, Logan, Natalie and Ryan; sister Barbara Reedy; brother, John M. Byrne and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Linus Coady conducted the funeral services at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Botwood on April 11, 2009. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Botwood. Funeral arrangements by Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood. Pallbearers were grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, Gerald, Christina, Catherine and Stephanie. Agnes will be loved and greatly missed by family and friends. May she rest in peace and be with God.

SAUNDERS, Sherwood Kirk (1962-2009) - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sherwood Kirk Saunders announce his passing at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre in Botwood on April 5, 2009, at the age of 47. Kirk was a former Chief of the Point Leamington Fire Department and a member of the United Church. Kirk worked at the Department of Transportation Works and Services. He is predeceased by his father, recently deceased Thomas Saunders; mother-in-law, Ivy Parmiter; grandparents, Minnie and Eleazar Saunders; and Laura and Adolphus Lidstone. Left with fond and loving memories are wife, Sherry; son, Sherwood of Labrador City, NL and daughter, Sarah of Point Leamington. Also leaving to mourn his mother, Florence Saunders; grand doggy Darby; brothers, Brian (Judy), Gary (Eleanor), Darryl (Jennifer); sister, Gail (Tony O'Keefe); father-in-law, Calvin Parmiter; brothers-in-law, Scott (Karen), Shawn (Kim) and Jeff (Jane); 13 nieces and nephews; four great-nieces. Thomas was a former Fire Chief of Point Leamington Fire Department; a member of the Salvation Army; and was retired from Abitibi Bowater. He was predeceased by parents, Eleazar and Minnie Saunders; sisters, Minnie and Winnie; brother, Nathan. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Florence; sons, Brian (Judy) of Point Leamington, Gary (Eleanor) of Malagash, N.S., Darryl (Jennifer) of Brampton, Ont., Kirk (Sherry) of Point Leamington; daughter, Gail (Tony O'Keefe) of Bishop's Falls. STUCKLESS, Marjorie Louise - Passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at home in Point Leamington, NL, age 74 years. Mrs. Stuckless was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Salvation Army Home League. She was predeceased by her first husband, Mabrey; two sisters; three brothers. Left to mourn are husband, Raymond; step-sons, Cecil (Sharon) of Burlington, ON, Alvin (Starlene) of Point Leamington, NL; daughters, Mondella of Toronto, ON, Joyce of Lake Echo, NS; step-daughters, Marlene (Reginald) of Acton, ON, Helen (Jim) of Acton, ON. Also leaving to mourn are brothers, Alfred, Ward and Arch Stuckless; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Capt. Richard and Trudy Mouland conducted funeral services at The Salvation Army Citadel, Point Leamington on April 23, 2009. Interment was at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Point Leamington. Funeral arrangements were by Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood. Pallbearers were Murlin Ward, Clayton Ward, Alvin Stuckless, Travis Hodder, Walter Martain and Gary Collins.

TILLEY, Albert N. - (July 24, 1942-April 30, 2009) - It is with sadness that the families of the late Albert N. Tilley announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, April 30, 2009, aged 66 years. He is predeceased by his father, Arch and brother, Gordon Tilley. Left to mourn with fond loving memories are his mother, Maude Tilley of Grand Falls-Windsor; sons, Albert Jr. of Fort McMurray, AB, and Bradley (Sherry) of St. John's, NL; daughter, Penney of Fort McMurray, AB; brothers, Harvey of Grand Falls-Windsor and Arthur (Joan) of Grand Falls-Windsor; sisters, Edna (Lorne) Snow of Bishop's Falls, Ruby (Arthur) Roberts of Beeton, ON, Shirley (Jack) Hennebury of Grand Falls-Windsor and Joy (Don) Hobbs of Grand Falls-Windsor; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. The funeral service took place Sunday, May 3, 2009 from the Park Street Salvation Army Citadel, Grand Falls-Windsor with Major Sandra Stokes officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor.

WELLS, Frederick Uriah (1919 - 2009) - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frederick U. Wells announce his passing at the CNRHC, in Grand Falls-Windsor on April 2, 2009 at the age of 89. Fred retired from Abitibi-Price in 1984. He is predeceased by his father, Philip; mother, Florence; brothers, Rod, Cecil; sisters, Ann, and Emily. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Hilda; sons, Sterling (Bernice) of Badger, and Brian (Sherran) of Kitchener-Waterloo, ON; daughters, Marjorie of Badger, and Pearl (Junior) of Badger. Also leaving to mourn 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. Pastor L. Sopher conducted the funeral service at the Badger Pentecostal on April 6, 2009. Interment was at the Badger Pentecostal Church. Pallbearers were Sterling Wells Jr, Jamie Eveleigh, Mark Eveleigh, Paul Stuckless, Chad Stuckless, David Dwyer. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
