90 Years Young!
1919 - 2009 - Miracle of the Valley
Celebrates her 90^th birthday on July 13^th, 2009. She was given this title after surviving a heroic surgery in 1951 in which she was not expected to live (story was published in the June 2000 issue of Downhome). Mary is still very active residing in her own home in Doyles in the Codroy Valley. She enjoys cards, kitchen parties and can still be seen at many of the Valley's social events. She is better known to the Valley as "Nanny Mary". Celebrating this special occasion with her are her 12 children, 22 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and many long time family and friends. Happy 60^th Wedding Anniversary
Stan and Dorothy McKeage will be celebrating their 60^th Wedding Anniversary on August 12^th, 2009. They reside in Springdale, NL. They are no stranger to Downhome magazine as Dorothy was in a past article about how well she in known in the area for the dolls she makes.
