Mummeries in June! (with pictures)
Yes. It's true, The mummers made a grand entrance at a wedding in Marathon, Ontario on June 13^th, 1998 to perform an honorary Newfie initiation ceremony. Graham and Florence Osmond (formerly of Springdale, Newfoundland), were proud to have their new son-in-law Dan Stadey (married Paula Osmond, their daughter), and their daughter-in-law Jennifer (married Tony Osmond, Florence and Graham's son in 1997), officially initiated, The ceremony was performed by the mummers (ex-Buchaneers Greg West and Boyd Guilliford), and consisted of kissing the cod, having a drink of Screech, and dancing a good old Newfie jig. Dan and Jennifer were proud to each receive their Honorary Newfie Certificates.
