Anderson, George Donald
It is with great sadness that the family of George Donald Anderson announce his death at home on Monday, October 27th, 2008. Born in Burin, NL, on February 3rd, 1942, he was the son of the late Kitchner and Evelyn (Brushett) Anderson. George worked for 38 years at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO). He started on the CSS Baffin as a steward in 1958, working his way up to quartermaster until he left the Baffin in 1966. He then transferred ashore to work in the Shipping and Receiving Section on BIO, up until his retirement in 1994. George's hobby was music and was known as Newfie George. He particularly enjoyed playing at the Newfoundland Club and the Spryfield Legion, of which he was a member. He was also a member of the John Albro Lodge. For the past 6 years he has been the co-host of the Newfoundland Soiree Show on 780 KIXX. He was predeceased by sister Mary (Eugene) Simms and father-in-law, John Myles. George is survived by his wife of 47 years, Minnie (Myles); son Bruce; daughter Joann and granddaughter Emily MacLean; Sherri (Mark) Rafuse and grandson Ryan; sisters; Joyce (Ben) Broydell, Port Stanley, ON; Jessie (Joe) Denty, Medicine Hat, AB; Doris (Ray) Dober, Marystown, NL; Debbie (Fred) Lambe, Guelph, ON; brothers Vince, Burin, NL; Don (Bernice), Middle Sackville, NS; Harvey (Amelia), Burin, NL; and Frazer (Elaine), Salt Pond, NL; mother-in-law Annie Myles, Melville Lodge, Halifax, NS; brother-in-law George (Barbara) Myles, Halifax, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9, October 30th, 2008. The Funeral was 2 pm October 31st, 2008 at Holy Trinity Emmanuel Anglican Church, Alfred Street, Dartmouth. The family would like to thank the VON and the Palliative Care Home Team for all the care and help.

Evely, Joseph "Joe"
Born August 3rd, 1939 in Crocker's Cove, NL. Passed away peacefully June 28th, 2008 in Toronto, Ontario surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Wilbert and Theresa. Sadly missed by all family and friends. In keeping with Joe's wishes, no Funeral Services will be held. If desired, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Fitzpatrick, William (with picture)
Born in Marystown, NL, William Fitzpatrick passed away peacefully at his home in Ottawa, Thursday, September 18th, 2008, at the age of 85. Beloved husband for 56 years of Mary. Loving father and grandfather to his children; Bill (Marcella), Randy and Sean and grandchildren; Jason (Amanda), Jessica, Jason and Mae-Lynn (Jason), Kelly-Lee and Robyn and great-grandchildren; Olivia and Lauren. He was a proud Newfoundlander and his family misses him more than they can say.
Fifteen two, fifteen four, fifteen six and the rest don't mix….
Oh wait, and one for the Jack and that makes seven….
And one day Dad, we'll play again in heaven
.

Foote, William Walter (with picture)
January 23rd, 1918 - April 9th, 2008

Bill passed away in Maple Ridge, BC at the age of 90. He was born in Snook's Arm, NL and lived there until 1996. At the age of 78 he moved to Maple Ridge to live with his son George Foote and family. He touched many people's lives and all those who met him will remember his gentle nature and how he enriched all our lives by being a part of it. He will be greatly missed. He will be laid to rest in Snook's Arm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CNIB.

Mugford, Clayton Thomas
"Happy Day, Happy Day since Jesus washed by sins away."
Surrounded by his family, Dad went home to be with the Lord on November 18th, 2008 at 9:49 am in his 84th year. Dad's legacy is continued through his wife and best friend of 60 years, Ella Rose Saunders; his children Wally (Sandi), Joyce Gauthier (Bert), Al, Clayton (Kathy), Sandra (Darren), Sharon (Rene), Terry (Julie), Marcia Albrecht (Warner), Goldie Minnis (Mike), Alma Claxton (Al), Randy (Donna), and Rocky (Kelly); he is a cherished Poppy and Great-Grampie of 33 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Dad is predeceased by his grandson Tyson (1981); his parents William and Rachel Mugford and his sisters Marcia, Alma; brothers; Joe, Abraham, Roy, Howard, Wallace, Arthur, Abel, and Bill. Dad was born on September 21st, 1925 in Clarke's Beach, Newfoundland. He married and raised his family in Main Brook, Newfoundland, until 1977. Dad moved with his family to Guelph, Ontario, although his heart was still in Newfoundland. Dad dedicated his life to our Family and hard work. The family received friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home- Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, Ontario on Thursday, November 20th, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.. Funeral Service took place at the Family Funeral Home Dods and McNair Funeral Home and Chapel, 21 First St. , Orangeville on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 12 noon. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph, beside his grandson Tyson (1981). As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Sick Kids Hospital would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted in memory of Clayton and his grandson Tyson in the Dods and McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 13th, 2009 at 2:30 pm. (Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com)
