Forsey, Mary
Passed peacefully away at Glenbrook Lodge in St. John's on March 7th, 1999, Mary Forsey of Grand Bank in her 97th year. Predeceased by husband John and daughter Alice. Leaving to mourn four daughters; Winnie Matthews (Stan) of Grand Bank, May Matthews (Tom), of Grand Bank, Emma Lake (Cecil) of Florida, and Marie Foote of Toronto; three sons; Fred (Margie) of Los Angeles, Edward (Kerry) of Toronto, and Randel (Joy) of Vancouver. Also 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the doctors and staff of the Glenbrook Lodge. Resting was at Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank. Funeral service took place Friday, 2 pm, March 12th, 1999 at Grand Bank United Church, with interment at the United Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Barrett's Funeral Home, St. John's.

King, Lillian Rachel (nee Elliott)
February 4th, 1931- January 6th, 1999

The family and friends of Lillian were saddened by her sudden and unexpected passing at the family home in Millertown, Newfoundland. Predeceased by her parents James (1974) and Bessie Elliott, nee Brown (1978), and husband William (1979), brother Claude Elliott (1968) and sister Evelyn Bessie (Elliott). She leaves to mourn her companion of 16 years, Bill Taylor of Millertown and children; David (wife Yvonne) of Port Elgin, Ontario; Donald (common-law spouse Ellie Saunders) of Labrador City; Darrell (wife Marilyn) of Labrador City; Denise (husband Harvey) of Grand Falls-Windsor; Diane (husband Derrick) of Badger; grandchildren Jonathan, Brian, Kevin, Michael, and Adam; step-great grandchildren Brittany and Nicholas Power. On January 9th, 1999, United Church minister Victor Hamlyn conducted funeral services at the Millertown community church. Special prayers were said by Captain Green of the Salvation Army and the United Church Women. The heartfelt and emotional tribute was written and read by family friend Palma Marsh of Clarenville, and scripture reading was done by Tammy Fudge of Badger. Interment was at the family plot in the Millertown Cemetery. The family gratefully acknowledges the support and assistance of the pallbearers; Scott, Junior and Glenn Elliott, Andy Hurley, Rick Crann and Andy Frosst. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Homes of Grand Falls-Windsor. The family would like to thank all who journeyed through the snowy weather to lend their support during this family crisis and to express their understanding to those who found the travel too difficult, but who called and /or sent cards to express their concern. Lillian's sparkling smile, soft touch and kind words and deeds will be remembered forever in the hearts and minds of family and friends. Donations in Lillian's memory may be sent to the United Church Fund c/o Eileen Scott, Millertown, Newfoundland, A0H 1V0.

Matchim, Claude
Suddenly at his home in Toronto (formerly of Sandy Cove, Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland), on Monday, January 25th, 1999, at the age of 60 years. Claude, beloved husband of Gloria, loving father of Perry and his wife Roxanne; Allison and husband Wayne Thompson; Nicole and boyfriend Jim. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Garry, Natasha, Taya, Jonathan, Jennifer and Kyle. Dear son-in-law of Belle Hallett.

Mulholland, Bridgette Anne (nee Edwards)
At St. Michael's Hospital on Thursday, January 21st, 1999, surrounded by her loving family. We are sad to express the passing, with the spirit and courage with which she lived, our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many. Bridgette Mulholland in her 37th year. Beloved wife of David Mulholland. Devoted and loving mother of Samantha and Tiffany. Treasured daughter of Isadore and Celestina Edwards. Cherished sister of Joan, Ray, Pius, Pat, Rita, Liz and their families. Dearly loved daughter-in-law of John and Marian Mulholland. Forever deep in the hearts of all that knew her. The family received friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax (Pickering Village), on Saturday and Sunday, January 23rd and 24th. Funeral service was held at the Dunbarton-Fairport United Church, 1066 Dunbarton Road, Pickering, Ontario on Monday, January 25th, 1999. A reception followed the service. Private family interment held. In lieu of flowers, please contact the Funeral Home for the charities requested by the family.

PENNEY, Alfred Stanley
Note of Thanks
We, the family of the late Alfred Stanley Penney, Burgoyne's Cove (59th Regiment, WW11), would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped ease the sorrow of the sudden passing of a dear husband, father , grandfather and great-grandfather. We would like to thank Rev. Eric Squires for a lovely service and for his visit with us. Thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 27 for their participation, organist Louise Pelley, Fewer's Ambulance Service, G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital staff. Fewer's Funeral Home, grave diggers, pallbearers and anyone who visited and phoned, as well as anyone who sent food, cards, and money, which will be donated to G.B. Memorial Hospital and the Janeway Children's Hospital. Your kindness will always be remembered. The Penney Family.

Price, Winston Arthur (with picture)
August 31st, 1943- March 2nd, 1999

Passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness on March 2nd, 1999 at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa, Ontario, in his 55th year; formerly of Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland. Leaving to mourn his beloved wife Joanne, stepdaughter Linda and stepson Jimmy, residing in Oshawa, sisters; Annie (Edgar) Rockwood, Myrtle MacKenzie, Jane (Abner) Wheaton, brother Edmund (Linda) Price, all residing in Newfoundland; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins. Funeral service was held at Thornton Cemetery, Oshawa on Thursday, March 4th, 1999 at 2 pm.
Wince, we love you and we miss you, but we will not forget you. We are all better today because we knew you.

Snow, Donald Albert (with picture)
April 4th, 1939 - November 16th, 1999

Passed away suddenly on November 16th, 1999. He was born April 4th, 1939 on Fogo Island, Newfoundland. He worked in Toronto where he retired from his career in December 1996. He decided to return to Newfoundland to further enjoy his retirement in October, 1999. Sadly Donald's passing came only six weeks after his return to Newfoundland. Donald is survived by Frederick and Betty Snow, Harvey and Phoebe Snow, Herbert and Ivy Snow, Roland and Doris Snow, Alvie and Frank Purchase, Harold and Loretta Snow, Sheila and Raymond Wells, Gordon Snow and other extended family. Donald was predeceased by his parents Alice and Robert Snow; brothers Chesley and Cedric and sister Annie Snow. The Snow family would like to thank the members of St. Andrew's Anglican Church, the staff of Fogo Island Funeral Home , and the pallbearers, to all family, friends and neighbours, thank you for your support and comfort in this time of great sorrow. Donald was a very caring, gentle and well loved man, he will be missed by many people and will be in our hearts and prayers forever. Sadly and dearly loved, your loving niece Tracy Jewell and family.
