Bell, Martha Ellen
Early this morning, Sept. 26, 1941, after a long illness, Martha Ellen, wife of the late Hon. S.K. Bell: leaving one son Charles R., of this city & one daughter, Mr. R.H. Harrower of Tobago, West Indies. Funeral by motor hearse on Sunday at 2:30 p.m., from her late residence, Rennies Mill Road.

Boyles, Arthur Henry
Passed peacefully away on Monday, Sept. 15, 1941, Arthur Henry Boyles of Topsail: leaving to mourn wife, one son, father, brother & two sisters. Funeral will take place from the residence of Mr. Blanche Joyce, 7 Franklin Avenue, to George Street United Church, on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Bragg, Nina
Stricken with a heart attack, shortly after her arrival, Sept. 10, 1941, in Cape Breton, Miss Nina Bragg, a native of Channel, Newfoundland, passed away in Glace Bay General Hospital. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Winnie Bragg, Channel, one brother Norman, living at Corner Brook. Interment was made at Channel.

Burry, Lacy (nee Burton)
Passed peacefully away at 11 a.m. on Sept 15th, 1941, at her residence, 187 New Gower St., Lacy Burry in her 73rd year. She leaves to mourn two daughters, two sons, one brother, John Burton, Alexandra Bay; two sisters in Bedford, Ontario: twenty grandchildren & nine great-grandchildren. Funeral takes place on Wednesday, at 3:30 p.m. from her son-in-law's residence, Mr. J. H. Ford, 36 Water Street West. (Canadian papers please copy).

Byrne, Mary Elizabeth
Passed peacefully away this morning, Sept, 27, 1941, after a short illness, Mary Elizabeth, darling child of John & Ann Byrne, 2 Parade Street, aged 3 years & 10 months.

Chancey, Margaret (nee Mayo)
Passed peacefully away at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19th, 1941, after a long illness, Margaret, aged 69 years: widow of the late Lloyd Chancey: leaving to mourn their sad loss one daughter, Pearl: three sons, Victor, Reginald & Roy, one brother John Mayo: three grandchildren & a large number of relatives & friends. Funeral tomorrow, Sunday, at 3:30 p.m. from her late residence, 11 Cookstown Road. (Boston, New York & Hartford, Conn. Papers please copy).

Cobb, Lillian G.
Passed away early yesterday morning, Sept, 15, 1941, Lillian G. Cobb. Funeral at 2 p.m. Friday, by motor hearse from her sister's residence, Mrs. Harry Pays, Portugal Cove Road.

Crotty, Sandra Marie
Passed away at 11 o'clock this morning, Sept 20, 1941, Sandra Marie, aged 10 months. Infant daughter of Madeline & Will Crotty, 13 Central Street.

Dymond, Austin Bernard
Passed peacefully away on Monday, Sept 29th, 1941, at 4:30 p.m., at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, Austin Bernard, aged 19 months: darling child of George & Veronica Dymond.

Drover, Mary Elizabeth (nee Martin)
Passed peacefully away on Sept 15, 1941, at 11:30 p.m., Mary Elizabeth Drover, aged 37 years: daughter of Robert & Virtue Martin: leaving to mourn husband, 2 children, father, mother, 2 brothers & 2 sisters. Funeral tomorrow at 3 p.m., from his father's residence, Quidi Vidi.

Fisher, Elizabeth (nee Earles)
Passed peacefully away on Sunday, Sept 21,1941, at the General Hospital, after a long illness, Elizabeth Earles, beloved wife of William Fisher, aged 44 years: leaving to mourn; Mother, her 2 sons, 4 daughters, 3 sisters & 3 brothers. Funeral on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. from her late residence, 49 Cabot Street.

Passed peacefully away, at Marystown, after an illness of several months, on Sept. 11, 1941, James M. Flynn.

Follett, Jessie
Passed away at 11 a.m., today, Sept 20, 1941, Jessie, widow of the late John A. Follett: leaving to mourn 2 step-sons. Funeral at 2:30 p.m., on Monday from her late residence, 76 Monroe Street.

Foran, Margaret
Passed peacefully away at St. Care's Mercy Hospital Wednesday, Sept 24, 1941, daughter of the late John W. & Margaret A. Foran. Funeral by motor hearse from the residence of Mr. Frank Kenny, 42 Cochrane Street, on Friday, Sept, 26th, 1941 at 3:30 p.m.

Hapgood, Donald Raymond
Passed away on Sept. 15th. 1941, Donald Raymond, aged 1 year; darling son of Mr. & Mrs. Robert Hapgood, Craigmillar Avenue.

Hickey, Joan
Passed peacefully away on Sept. 20th, 1941, Joan, aged 1 years, 10 months; darling child of Daniel & Bridie Hickey of 8 Plymouth Road.

Jeans, Stanley
Passed peacefully away at the Grace Hospital on Tuesday afternoon, Sept 23rd, 1941, Stanley Jeans in his 67th year; leaving to mourn beside a wife, 3 daughters, Marion in England, Annetta & Frances at home. Funeral took place today at 2:30 p.m. from his residence, 167 Pennywell Road, to the Church of England Cemetery.

Lee, Mrs. Catherine (nee O'Neill)
The death occured at Halifax, Nova Scotia, during the past week of Mrs. Catherine Lee, age 43, a native of St. John's. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. William O'Neill & the late Mrs. O'Neill. She is survived by one son, 3 brothers & 2 sisters, Mrs. Fred Steele, St. John's, is a sister. Interment was made at Halifax.

Loughlin, Mary
This morning, Sept. 27, 1941, at Bay Bulls, Mary Loughlin, aged 67 years. Funeral tomorrow, Sunday, at 3 p.m.

Martin, Frank
Drowned Tuesday, Sept 17th, 1941, Frank Martin, aged 12 1/2 years, only child of Martha & Frank Martin: he leaves to mourn: mother & father, & a large circle of family. Funeral on Friday, at 2:30 p.m. from his late residence, 13 Cabot Street.

Moyst, Joseph
Passed away suddenly, Wednesday evening, Sept 10, 1941, Joseph Moyst, aged 58 years; leaving to mourn wife Elsie, two sons Cyril in H.M. Navy, Alton in Navy; 3 sisters, Mrs. John Clarke, city and two sisters in Boston, USA; 2 brothers Herbert of H.M. Campania, Thomas, 1st Engineer on S.S. Caribou. Funeral 2 p.m. on Friday, from his late residence, 4 Hayward Ave. (American papers please copy).

Newbury, Frederick Matthew
Passed peacefully away on Sept 20th, 1941, at Windsor, Ontario, Frederick Matthew Newbury on his 92nd year; leaving to mourn are 3 daughters; Mrs. S. French at Windsor, Ontario, Mrs. B. Janes at Galveston, Texas, Mrs. A. Osmond of St. John's; 2 sons Frederick at Windsor, Ontario & William, now in Scotland.

Neville, Francis P.
Passed peacefully away at Brooklyn, New York, Sunday, Sept. 21st, 1941, Francis P. Neville, son of Mary & the late John J. Neville; leaving to mourn wife, mother, 3 sisters & 3 brothers. Interment on Wednesday at Sprindale, Mass.

Passed away this morning at 7:15 a.m., Sept. 27th, 1941, after a long illness, John Frederick Newman in his73rd year, (formerly Chief Dispatcher of the General Post Office): leaving to mourn; 4 sons Capt. A. S. Newman of England, George, Jack & Edward of this city; 2 daughters, Mrs. Frank Arnold of New York & Marion at home; also 2 sisters & 1 brother. Funeral at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, from his late residence, 7 Parade Street.

Payne, Arthur W.
Passed peacefully away on Monday, Sept 22nd, 1941, after a long illness, Arthur W., beloved husband of Millie (Bennett) Payne, aged 45 years; leaving to mourn besides his wife, are 5 sons and 1 daughter, Raymond in H.M. Navy, Sidney, Douglas, Ronald, Arthur & Mabel at home; also 2 brothers & 4 sisters. Funeral on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from his late residence, 92 Merrymeeting Road.

Peddle, Jane
Passed away suddenly 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept 20th. 1941, Jane Peddle, age 66 years; widow of the late Thomas Peddle; leaving to mourn are 3 sons, Robert, Arthur & Hubert; 2 daughters; Mrs. Charles Jenern & Mrs. Frank Hennebury; one sister: Mrs. Annie Critch of Cavendish; 20 grandchildren , as well as a large circle of friends. Funeral took place today from her son, Arthur's residence, 6 Mount Pleasant Avenue.

Price, Dora
Passed peacefully away on Thursday, Sept. 18th, 1941, at his late residence, 32 Lime St. after a short illness, Dora, widow of the late William Price, in her 68th year; leaving to mourn 8 sons (2 of which are serving overseas); one daughter, 4 sisters, 19 grandchildren a a large number of relatives. Interment took place at Petty Harbour. (Boston paper please copy) R.I.P.

Reardon, Patrick
Passed away, after a lingering illness, on Sept. 17th, 1941, Patrick Reardon aged 32 years, husband of Mildred Collins; leaving to mourn their sad loss wife, 5 children, father & 2 brothers. Funeral on Friday from his late residence, Upper Battery Road.

Rendell, Rebecca
The funeral of the late Mrs. James "Jas" Rendell, who died Sept. 12th, 1941 @ 71, will take place from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wallace Curren, 35 Leslie Street, tomorrow Sunday, at 2:30 p.m. by motor hearse.

Rose, Gertrude Lorraine
Passed peacefully away at 8 o'clock, this morning, Sept. 22nd, 1941, Gertrude Lorraine Rose, aged 6 months; darling child of Queen & Chesley Rose. Interment tomorrow afternoon at 2: 30 p.m. from 54 Prince of Wales Street.

Rowe, Louis
Drowned at Aspen Cove, Twillingate District, on Friday, Sept 19th, 1941, Louis Rowe, aged 19 years; youngest son of Mr. & Mrs. William Rowe of Alder Harbour; leaving to mourn his mother & father, two brothers Harry of Grand Falls, Ralph, overseas with the Royal Artillery; also two sisters; Mrs. John Hodder, Lewisporte, and Annie at St. John's.

Rumson, George
Passed peacefully away at 5 o'clock, Thursday afternoon, Sept. 27, 1941, George Rumson, in his 68th year. Funeral will take place on Sunday, from his late residence at Carbonear.

Ryall, Robert
Passed peacefully away at 11:30 p.m., on Sept 29th, 1941, Robert Ryall (Shoemaker), in his 84th year; leaving to mourn son, Frank & one daughter Sarah. Funeral at 2:15 p.m., on Wednesday from his late residence, 46 Hayward Avenue.

Shaw, Frederick
Passed peacefully away at 11:20 p.m., yesterday, Wednesday, Sept. 24th. 1941, at the Fever Hospital, Frederick Shaw (Tinsmith), in his 38th year; son of Pricilla & the late Henry C. Shaw; leaving to mourn wife (Annie George), one son Henry, mother, three brothers; John, Henry, Hayward; three sisters; Patience (Mrs. Fred McDonaugh), at Ausable Forks, New York, Ella (Mrs. Clifford Noel), & Millie (Mrs. Edward Collins), both of this city. Funeral tomorrow, Friday, at 2:30 p.m. from his mother's residence, 72 Patrick Street.

Spracklin, Harry
The death occured at Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, during the past week Sept. 1941, of Harry Spracklin, Honorary President of the Cape Breton district command of the Canadian Legion B.E.S.L.. The late Mr. Spracklin was born at Cupids, Newfoundland & went to Cape Breton in 1914. He served overseas in the the First World War, with the 40th Nova Scotia Battalion. Interment was made at Glace Bay, under the ospices of the Canadian Legion. (No date listed--The Daily News published obit on Sept. 15, 1941).

Stephenson, Elsie (nee Aydon)
Entered into rest Thursday, Sept. 11th. 1941, Elsie Aydon, beloved wife of John H. Stephenson. Leaving to mourn are husband, one son, overseas; and one daughter. Funeral on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. by motor hears, from her last residence, 32 Leslie Street.

Thomas, James Harvey
Passed away at 9 a.m., Sept. 29th, 1941, after a short illness, James Harvey Thomas, in his 74th. year. Funeral on Wednesday by motor hearse at 2:30 p.m., from his late residence, "Bircholme", Allandale Road. No flowers.

Tilley, Mary (nee Maher)
Passed peacefully away on Sept. 11th, 1941, Mary Maher, aged 47 years, beloved wife of George Tilley; leaving husband, 3 sons, 2 daughters, 5 sisters and a large circle of friends. Funeral on Sunday at 2: 30 p.m., from Upper Battery Road. (Montreal & USA papers please copy).

Tucker, Mrs. Abagail
Passed peacefully away on Monday, Sept. 29th, 1941, Mrs. Abigail Tucker, relict of the late Henry Tucker, aged 100 years. Leaving to mourn are 1 son, 2 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren. Funeral from her son's residence, Blackhead Road, on Wednesday, at 2: 30 p.m.

Urguhart, James R.
Passed away in London, England, Thursday, Sept 11th. 1941, James R. Urguhart. His is survived by his wife & daughter.

Williams, Robert
Entered into rest, last evening, after a short illness, Sept 15th. 1941, Robert Williams, aged 72 years; leaving wife (nee Annie Gribble); 3 daughters; Mrs. Alice Smith & Miss Irene of Boston, Mass., Mrs. Victor Reid (Bessie), of this city; also 1 sister Mr. L.J. White, city, 2 brothers & 2 grandchildren. Funeral at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, from his late residence, 37 Parade Street. (No flowers, by request).

Wiltshire, Flora (nee Crocker)
Passed peacefully away, Sept. 1941, at Fort William, Ontario, Mrs. Flora Wiltshire (nee Crocker, formerly of this city); leaving to mourn one daughter, Mrs. Charles Richards of this city; also 2 sons, Herbert of Fort William, Ontario, Malcolm of Boston, Mass., one step-son, Albert, of Heart's Delight; 2 brothers Frederick Crocker of this city, James Crocker, of Heart's Delight.
