Spaniard's Bay, November 2 -
Roberts - Sheppard Wedding
A quiet but pretty wedding took place on Thursday, October 29, in Holy Redeemer Church, Spaniard's Bay, at 4 p.m. when Olive, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Roberts of Spaniard's Bay, became the bride of Kenneth, son of Mr. Robert Sheppard and the late Mrs. Sheppard of Harbour Grace South. Rev. E. Willis performed the ceremony and the organist was Miss Verna Bishop.
For her wedding the bride wore a blue wool costume with white accessories and carried a bouquet of red roses. Her only attendant was the sister-in-law of the groom, Mrs. Elizabeth Sheppard. Attending the groom was his brother, Robert, while yet another brother acted as father giver.
The reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, for immediate relatives. The lovely three-tier cake was made and given by Mrs. John Osbourne, while Mr. John Osbourne proposed the toast to the bride.
Following the honeymoon, which is being spent at Bell Island, the young couple will take up residence with the bride's parents. We extend good wishes for a happy life for them both.
