Spaniard's Bay -
Mrs. Arthur Barrett
-
News was received here last week of the death at Everett, Massachusetts, of Mrs. Arthur Barrett at the age of seventy-nine. She moved to Everett to live with her son, Randolph after the death of her husband some years ago. Besides her son and two grandchildren in Everett, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Rachel Noseworthy, here. Burial was at Everett, Mass.

Harbour Grace -
Cecelia Peddle
- There passed peacefully away at her home at Water Street East, Harbour Grace on Monday morning, May 7th, Mrs. Absalom Peddle, aged fifty-six years.
The deceased, the former Cecilia Stanley, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stanley and had been suffering from a painful illness for some months. She had received treatment at the General Hospital, St. John's, but returned home some weeks ago to be cared for by members of her family during the last stages of her illness.
The late Mrs. Peddle leaves to mourn the passing of a loving wife and mother, her husband, four sons, Gordon with the Air Force at Chatham, N.B., who arrived home a few hours after the funeral of his mother; Hayward, William and Donald at Harbour Grace, and two daughters, Jean and Carol, at home. The sympathy of a large circle of friends is extended to the bereaved family at this time.
The funeral took place from her residence to St. Paul's Church on Wednesday afternoon and was largely attended. The Burial Service was conducted by Rev. L. A. J. Ludlow and interment was in the Anglican Cemetery.

Bell Island -
Don Neil
- The body of 23-year-old Don Neil of West Mines, Bell Island, arrived Saturday morning for burial here.
Don was killed in a motor accident on the Canadian mainland last week. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Neil.
The funeral took place Saturday afternoon. Funeral services were at St. Cyprian's Anglican Church and at the graveside in the Anglican Cemetery, where he was laid to rest.
