Thomas George Deering - Passed suddenly away at his late residence on Monday, May 6 Mr. Thomas George Deering, at the age of 82 years.
The late Mr. Deering was a former resident of Shearstown, but for the past few years had resided at Bay Roberts.
Left to mourn are one son, William, with whom he resided, one daughter, Winnie, at New York, four grandchildren and a large number of relatives and friends, to whom sympathy is extended.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 8, at the Pentecostal Church, with Pastor Langdon officiating. Interment was in the Pentecostal Cemetery.

Bay Roberts -
Chesley H. Roberts - The whole community was shocked to hear of the sudden passing at his work due to a heart attack, of Chesley H. Sparkes at the age of 41 years. The late Mr. Sparkes was a veteran of World War II, resided at Shearstown, and for the past two and a half years operated a meat market at Bay Roberts, where his many patrons were always welcomed with a friendly smile and greeting.
Left to mourn their sad loss are his wife, the former Vera Badcock of this town, three children, Wayne, Herbert and Sandra, two sisters, Nora (Mrs. J. Holmes), and Clara (Mrs. E. Holmes) both of Shearstown, and a large circle of relatives and friends.
Funeral was held at Shearstown Thursday, May 16, at which the local branch of the Canadian Legion attended in a body. Service was held at the United Church, Rev. J. S. H. Moran officiating. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery.
Deepest sympathy is extended to those who mourn.
