Spaniard's Bay -
Mr. and Mrs. Sol Gosse
celebrated their forty-fourth wedding anniversary on January 4, having been married in St. Nicholas' Parish Church, Prestwick, Scotland, by the Rev. B. D. Douglas, in 1916. Mrs. Gosse, the former Miss Hunter, came to Newfoundland in 1919 with her husband when he was discharged from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment after World War I. Coinciding with the anniversary was a telephone call from Meriden, Connecticut, from Mrs. Gosse's brothers George and Bill, who are professional golfers and whom she has not seen nor heard in forty-one years. Mrs. Gosse also had the pleasure of speaking with her sister Margaret and brother-in-law Dave Murray, as well as with nephews whom she has not seen. We Join with Mr. and Mrs. Gosse's three sons, grandchildren and their hosts of friends in wishing them good health and every happiness.
