Barrett, Clarus B.
Passed peacefully away at the Grace Hospital on Saturday, Feb 12, 1977, Clarus B. Barrett of 36 Gambier Street in his 65th year. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Eva; one son William in Halifax; one daughter Lois (Mrs. James Finn) of St. John's; one brother Leighton of St. John's; two sisters, Tena (Mrs. Stewart Palmer) of Topsail and Hersilia (Mrs. Murray Moores) of Brigus; for grandchildren; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at the Carnell Memorial Chapel, Freshwater Road until 12 noon on Tuesday, Feb. 15. Funeral on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from St. James United Church. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Constantine, Catherine
Died suddenly at her residence on Saturday, Feb 12, 1977, Catherine Constantine, age 76. Leaving to mourn three daughters, Madeline (Mrs. Charles Kennedy), Carmel (Mrs. Pat Mullins), and Doreen (Mrs. Gordon Chubbs); one son, Tom; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Byrne, Mrs. Margaret McGrath and Mrs Maude Antle; also 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Resting at her residence 101 St. Clare Avenue. Funeral on Tuesday, Feb 15 to St. Theresa's Church for Mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Churchill, Muriel (nee Churchill)
Passed peacefully away after a short illness at the Grace General Hospital early Monday morning, February 14th, 1977, Muriel, age 59, beloved wife of John Churchill, Portugal Cove. She leaves to mourn besides her husband one daughter, Louisa (Mrs. Henry Codner); four grandchildren; Curtis, Sean, Scott and Lisa; also her mother, Mrs. Louisa Churchill, one sister, Ethel, and one brother Elijah, all residing at Portugal Cove. Resting at the Carnell Memorial Chapel, Freshwater Road. Funeral will take place on Wednesday, Febuary 16th at 2:30 p.m., from the United Church, Portugal Cove.

Davis, Frank J.
Passed peacefully away at his residence 23 Carson Avenue on Monday, February 14, 1977, Frank J. Davis, age 57 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Mary; four sons, James, Gerald, Kenneth and Calvin; one daughter, Glenda; one brother Bert at Halifax; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at the Carnell Memorial Chapel, Freshwater Road until 12:00 noon on Thursday. Funeral on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the George Street United Church. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

King, Solomon
Passed peacefully away at the General Hospital on Friday, February 11, 1977, Solomon King in his 90th year. Leaving to mourn a number of nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends. Resting at the Carnell Memorial Chapel, Freshwater Road. Funeral to take place on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 10:30 a.m. from the Anglican Church at St. Phillip's.

Morris, Janet
Passed peacefully away at Mifflens Nursing Home, Kelligrews, Janet Morris, in her 91st year. Leaving to mourn her four sons Gordon, Samuel, Norman and William Jr.; three daughters Alice (Mrs. W. Hatcher), Stella (Mrs. D. McBay), Hilda (Mrs. A. Lewis); one sister Mrs. Rhonda Napman and a large number of grand and great-grandchildren, also a number of relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue until 12 noon Wednesday. Funeral on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Gower Street United Church. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Ryan, William
Passed peacefully away at his late residence 92 Queen's Road, February 14, 1977, Willam Ryan, in his 89th year, formerly of St. Joseph's, Salmonier. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Mary Ann; one son John; one step-son Philip; one sister Mrs. Owen Whelan of Riverhead, St. Mary's; daughter-in-law Lydia; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, also a large circle of relatives and friends. Remains resting at Caul's Funeral Home. Funeral on Thursday to St. Joseph's Church, Salmonier for Mass at 2 p.m.. Interment at St. Joseph's, Salmonier.

Sheehan, James P.
Passed peacefully away at his late residence, 31 Gilder Dr., Scarborough, Ontario, on Saturday, February 12, 1977, James P. Sheehan , aged 63, son of the late James Sheehan, formerly of St. John's. Left to mourn besides his loveg wife Margaret (Whelan); six sons; Pat and David, St. John's; Joe, Port aux Basques; Noel at Scarborough; Jimmy and Robert, Calgary; two daughters; Bernice (Mrs. W. Walsh), Scarborough, Ontario and Maureen (Mrs. M. Westcott), Winnipeg; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his mother, Mrs. Margaret Sheehan; one sister, Mrs. J. Murphy (Warbury St.); one brother Ed (Topsail Rd.); also several nieces and nephews. Funeral service Tuesday, February 15; burial at Scarborough, Ontario.

Squires, Lilla W.
Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Home on Saturday, February 12, 1977, Lilla W. Squires in her 84th year. Leaving to mourn three sons, Albert in Montreal, William A. at 372 Duckworth Street, and Wallace in Moncton, N.B.; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Lawlor at Moncton, N.B. and Mrs. Stella Tucker at St. Phillip's; 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at the Carnell Memorial Chapel,Freshwater Road. Funeral on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 3 p.m. to the Anglican Church at St. Phillip's. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery.

Stevenson, Margaret
Passed away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, on February 13th, 1977, Margaret Stevenson, widow of the late Chesley B. Stevenson, in her 83rd year. Leaving to mourn one son, Chesley B. at Coxheath, Nova Scotia; three daughters, Mrs. Jean Whitty, of St. John's, Mrs. Norma Foltz of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. Helen Haslem of Victoria, B.C.; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Murray of Maine, USA, Mrs. Agnes Sheppard, of Mass., USA; Mrs. Gertrude Downton, of St. John's; and a number of relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. Funeral Service 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Church of St. Mary the Virgin. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road.

Yetman, Roberta Joan (Bobbi Jo)
Passed peacefully away at the Janeway Hospital on Saturday, February 12, 1977, Roberta Joan (Bobbi Jo) Yetman in her 7th year, darling daughter of Robert and Joan Yetman, 384 Blackmarsh Road. Leaving to mourn beside her parents one sister Holly; two brothers Stewart and Stephen; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Yetman and Mrs. & Mrs. Charles Taylor; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel, Freshwater Road. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
