Bay Roberts, February 8 -
Drover - Neil Wedding

On Friday, February 5th at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Shearstown, Rev. Isaac Butler, Rector, united in Holy Matrimony, Stanley W. Drover, Upper Island Cove to Ruby Marie Neil of Harbour Grace South.

Spaniard's Bay -
Arthur Jewer
News was received here on Wednesday of the death at Boston, Massachusetts of Arthur Jewer, 63, formerly of Spaniard's Bay. The late Mr. Jewer went to Boston when he was quite a young man as a carpenter.
He is survived by his wife and two sons in Boston, a brother Cyril in Boston, two brothers, William and James and a sister, Mrs. Millie Sheppard, living in Spaniard's Bay.
Burial was at Boston on February 2.

Bay Roberts, February 8 -
Norman - French Wedding

The marriage of Myra, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Norman and Roy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen French, both of Bay Roberts took place at Wesley United Church, St. John's on January 15th. The ceremony was performed by Rev. V. A. Smith.
The bride's only attendant was Miss Cavell French, while the groom was ably supported by Mr. Roy Porter.
Following the ceremony the bridal party motored to Bay Roberts, where the reception was held in the home of the newlyweds.
The groom is an employee of the Irving Oil, Harbour Grace.
We join with the friends of all three newly married couples in wishing them many years of happiness.

Bay Roberts, February 8 -
Seymour -Deering Wedding

On the same day (Friday, February 5th at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Shearstown) Rev. Butler officiated at the marriage of Henry, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Seymour to Susie Jane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Deering, both of Shearstown. The bride's only attendant was Mrs. Fannie Parsons, sister of the groom. Mr. James Seymour ably performed the duties of father giver, while the groom was supported by his cousin, Mr. William J. Seymour. The happy couple has taken up residence at Shearstown.

Spaniard's Bay -
Joseph Smith
, 75, fisherman, passed away at his residence in Bishop's Cove on Wednesday, February 10, following an illness of several months. He is survived by his wife, four sons, Fred at Tilton, Nath at Bell Island, Matthew at St. John's and Eugene with whom he resided, one daughter, Susie.
Funeral on Thursday to the Church of St. John the Evangelist at Bishop's Cove.

Mary Jane Barrett

Passed away suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. G. Palmer, Topsail Road, St. John's, Mary Jane, widow of the late W. F. Barrett of Bay Roberts. Leaving to mourn 2 daughters, Tena (Mrs. S. G. Palmer), St. John's; Hersilia (Mrs. Murry Moores) of Brigus; 2 sons, Leighton of Bay Roberts and Clarus of St. John's; one brother, William J. Mercer of Bay Roberts. Funeral notice later.

Bay Roberts, February 24 -
Earle - Brown Wedding

A quiet but pretty wedding took place at the United Church parsonage on Monday, February 22nd when Rev. J. B. Reynolds united in Holy Matrimony Barbara Jean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Earle, Carbonear and Angus, son of Mrs. Sarah and the late Mr. David Brown, Tilton.
The bride's only attendant was Miss Minnie Brown, sister of the groom, while Mr. Leo Fitzgerald supported the groom.
Following the ceremony the bridal party motored to Carbonear where a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents for members of the family.
The young couple are presently residing at Tilton, but plan on leaving shortly for Toronto.
Best wishes are extended for happiness in the future.
