Passed on: September 11th, 2014

Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Thursday, September 11, 2014, James A. Davis of Carbonear, age 79 years. A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was cherished by all who knew him. Predeceased by parents: George and Isabel, sister: Mary (Jack) Pike, brother: Karl (Betty). Left to mourn, his two devoted daughters: Beverly Davis, Foxtrap and Gail Davis, Kelligrews; five grandchildren: Tracey (Sean), Jennifer, Paul (Laura), Amanda (Chris) and Erica; three great-grandchildren: Brandon, Ryan and Noah; also a large number of other relatives and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Sutton, Dr. Fraser and staff of Kelligrews Medical Clinic and also to the doctors and nurses at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Rev. Brian Colbourne conducted the funeral service on Monday, September 15 from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment took place in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in his memory may be made to the NL Lung Association. DORAN, Anne B. 'Annie'

Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear on Sunday, September 14, 2014, Anne B. Doran of Riverhead, Harbour Grace, age 82 years. Predeceased by daughter: Joanne O'Brien, parents: Richard and Angela Doran, sister: Julia Lewis. Left to mourn, son-in-law: Sean O'Brien, Harbour Grace; three grandchildren: Cara O'Brien, Caitlin O'Brien (Michael) and Seamus O'Brien, also a number of cousins and other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace. Fr. William Pearce conducted the funeral mass on Wednesday, September 17 from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Interment took place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace. Heaven has gained its own "nurse angel." Passed suddenly away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, September 6, Debbie Farrell of Harbour Grace, age 62 years. Predeceased by parents: Michael and Carmel Haire, parents-in-law: Bernard and Eileen Farrell, sister-in-law: Cynthia Misch. Left to mourn, husband: Bernard; two sons: Michael, Harbour Grace and Chris (Paula), Bristol's Hope; three grandchildren, who were the lights of her life, Taylor, Kassidy and Owen; two brothers: Michael Ford (Geraldine) Haire, Edmonton, AB and Craig (Ann) Haire, Wassis, NB; two sisters: Susan (Ken) Powers and Carmel Anne (Fred) Langmead, both of Torbay; five sisters-in-law: Betty (George) Smith, Harbour Grace, Lynda (Aubrey) Greeley, Ottawa, ON, Debbie (Gabe) Gregory, St. Phillips, Sharon (Dwayne) Crummey, Harbour Grace and Michelle (Pat) McCarthy, Orillia, ON; brother-in-law: Murray Misch, Harbour Grace; also a large number of other relatives and friends. THOMEY, Bridget Frances 'Bride'
Passed in: St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
Passed on: September 16th, 2014
Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park Nursing Home, St. John's on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, Bride Thomey of St. John's; formerly Harbour Grace, age 84 years, less a day. Bride spent the first fifty-four years of her life in Harbour Grace raising a family and growing a number of successful businesses. She often spoke fondly of the people and her experiences there. She moved to St. John's where she worked and volunteered with various organizations such as the Grace Hospital and Waterford Hospital Auxiliaries. Bride loved to travel, spend time in her garden, play cards and enjoyed the company of her many feline friends, especially Sandy and Smokey. Most of all, she loved the joy of children, the pleasures of friendship and the time spent with family and all the many people who loved her. She is predeceased by husband: William 'Bill'; long term loving companion: Art Fitzgerald; parents: John and Elizabeth Haire; brothers: Gerald and Edward and members of the Thomey family. Leaving to mourn, children: Janet (Philip) Short with whom she resided in St. John's, Bill (Bette), Chestermere, AB and Maureen (Jim) Thistle, Fort McMurray, AB; seven grandchildren: Jaclyn (Rob), Dan (Melissa), Bill (Anna), James, Greg, Shawn and Stephen (Norma); four great-grandchildren: Cherish, Amelia, Isla and Alyssa; two brothers: John (Dorothy) Haire, Maple Ridge, BC and Leo (Florence) Haire, Red Deer, AB; two sisters: Mary Picco (Pat, deceased), Paradise and Irene Gear, Nanimo, BC; sister-in-law: Marie Haire, Ontario; also a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rested at Barrett's Funeral Home, St. John's and then Noel's Funeral Home, Harbour Grace. Funeral Mass took place on Saturday, September 20 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Interment was in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace beside her husband, Bill. Donations in her memory may be to the Canadian Cancer Society. A special thank you to the staff of 3 West at Chancellor Park for the compassionate care of our mother. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Noel's Funeral Home, Harbour Grace.
