BABCOCK, Nellie Patience - Passed peacefully away at the Leacock Care Centre Orillia on Thursday, September 3, 2009 in her 97th year. Nellie Babcock of Orillia formerly of Bay Roberts, Newfoundland, beloved wife of the late Robert Babcock, dear mother of Robert (Shelly). Lovingly remembered by her devoted daughter-in-law Beverley; grandchildren: Diana (Dan) and Bobby (Kim); great-grandchildren: Olivia, Gracie, Eryn and Georgia. Predeceased by brothers: Herbert and Jack Babcock, sisters: Muriel Wilson and Ruby Snook all of Newfoundland. Nellie will be missed by many family and friends in Newfoundland. A graveside service will be held at St. Andrew-St. James Cemetery Coldwater Road Orillia on Tuesday, September 8 at 11 a.m. Memorial donations to the Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated and will be received by the Simcoe Funeral Home - 38 James Street E. BENNETT, Kathleen (nee Rockwood) - Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge, Carbonear on Thursday, September 24, 2009, Kathleen Bennett, aged 84 years. Left with fond and loving memories are husband: William (Bill); son: Cyril (Linda); sister-in-law: Jane Rockwood, Port Coquitlam, BC as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation was held at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Funeral Service took place on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Interment has taken place at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. BISHOP, Judith B. 'Judy'- Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family and friends at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday September 11, 2009, Judith B. 'Judy' Bishop of Blackhead, age 63 years. Predeceased by her infant daughter, parents: Samuel and Marjorie Frampton; step-mother: Jean Frampton and father-in-law: Ernest Bishop. BRANTON, Leonard Gordon - 82, Halifax, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 in the QEII Health Sciences Center. Born in Islington, NFLD, he was a son of the late Edward and Mabel (Peddle) Branton. Leonard immigrated to Canada in 1946 from Newfoundland, coming to Halifax to work as a Stevedore on the waterfront. He later went to work as a carpenter until his retirement. He loved his work and took great pride in it. He was a member of the Carpenters Union for 61 years and 10 months. Leonard was a man of great faith, who enjoyed dancing to his Newfoundland music. He will always be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, brother and uncle. He is survived by son, George (Linda) Branton, PEI; daughter, Emma Branton (John Cusick), Halifax; grandchildren, Tina MacDonald, Steven Branton and Sarah MacKenzie; great-grandchild, Cody Dixon; companion Mabel Hollett; brother, Harrison, Ontario; sister, Lillian, Ontario. He was predeceased by his wife, Sarah Jane (Legge); brothers, Roland, Charlie, Bob and Norman. Arrangements were under the care of J.Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477-5601) where visitation was held on Friday, September 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12 at 2 PM from Fairview United Church with Rev. Heather Fraser as officiant. A reception followed in the church hall. Kearley, Enid L. - Passed peacefully away at the Agnes Pratt Home, St. John's on Friday, September 13th, 2009 Enid L. Kearley, age 80 years of Bay Roberts. Predeceased by her parents: Thomas and Sarah Sheppard, husband: Archibald; sisters: Pearl, Betty and Sadie; brother: Ebenezer. Mercer, Marjorie Constance (nee Peddle) - Passed away peacefully on September 4 in her 78th year at Toronto East General Hospital with family at her side. Beloved wife of the late Eugene Edwin Mercer. Loving mother to sons John and Walter (daughter-in-law Rose), daughters Linda and Debbie (son-in-law Angelo Frasca). Nanny to 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Sister to Lu Snow, Walter (sister-in-law Sally), and the late Mabel Hillier. She will live in our hearts forever. Predeceased by her husband: Clifford; parents: George and Isabel Young; brother: Edward (Jean) Young; sister: Irene; brothers-in-law: Walter, Lewis and Bill Yetman; sisters-in-law: Mary (George) Hawe and Margaret Yetman. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her 1 son: Clifford (Susan); 3 daughters: Myra (Kevin) Young, Joy (Harold) Brown and Annette (Byron) Holmes; her beloved grandchildren: Lori (Gene), Susan (Dave), Stephanie (Stephen), Kristy (Des), Jeff, Trevor (Sheena), Melissa (Mike), Paul (Ashley), Scott and Michael (Jessica); one cherished great-grandson and the joy of her life: Liam; sister: Alfreda (Roy) Mercer; brothers-in-law: Nathan (Vi) Yetman and John (Gwen) Yetman; sisters-in-law: Robie (Gordon) Fifield, Mildred (Michael) Barry and Lillian (Bill) Hause; brothers-in-law wives: Shirley, Carol and Genevieve Yetman and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were: Paul Brown (grandson), Jeff Brown (grandson), Michael Holmes (grandson), Trevor Young (grandson), Kenneth Bishop (great nephew), Gene Lander (grandson-in-law), Stephen Lawlor (grandson-in-law) and Mike Smith (grandson-in-law). Captains Morgan and Lisa Hillier conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel, Bay Roberts on Sunday, September 20, 2009. Interment was at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Bay Roberts. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in her memory to the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts.
