CARRIGAN, Eliza Ann - Passed peacefully away at St. Clares Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Saturday, September 18, 2004, Mrs. Eliza Ann Carrigan (nee Chipman) of Spaniard's Bay, age 82 years. Predeceased by husband James; parents: Robert and Rebecca Chipman, sister Dorothy Abbott, brother Arthur and brother-in-law Hubert Hiscock. Left with fond and loving memories are her nephew and caregivers Gerald and Jeanette Hiscock and their two sons Robert and Scott; one sister Joyce Hiscock of Gander; brother-in-law Gerald Abbott; sister-in-law Theresa Murphy of St. John's; best friends Violet and Dot; and a large loving circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place as she wished. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 21 at the Holy Redeemer Anglican Church, Spaniard's Bay. Interment followed at St. Patricks Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brigus. Donations in her memory may be made to The Holy Redeemer Anglican Church Memorial Fund or Newfoundland and Labrador Branch of the Alzheimer's Association. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Young's Funeral Home, Spaniard's Bay; Courtesy, Reverence, Dignity. HUTCHINGS, Leonard - Passed suddenly away at his residence on Thursday, September 23, Leonard Hutchings of Tilton, Spaniard's Bay, in his 81 year. Predeceased by his parents: John Arthur and Elsie May Hutchings; brother Joe Hutchings and brother-in-law Nath Saunders. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Mary of 52 years; his daughter Marlene (Wayne Woodford) of Spaniard's Bay; two sons: Don (Mary) Spaniard's Bay and Reg (Marilyn) North West River; sister Lily Saunders of Bay Roberts; brother Selby (May) Hutchings, Spaniard's Bay; four grandchildren: John, Jamie, Kelly and McKenzie and sister-in-law Florence Hutchings; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Young's Funeral Home, Spaniard's Bay Friday, September 24 and Saturday, September 25. The funeral service took place Saturday, September 25 from Holy Redeemer Anglican Church with interment to follow at Maul Tree Hill Anglican Cemetery, Spaniard's Bay. In his memory flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
