Butler, Marie Nee Holloway - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital October 3rd, 2009 Marie Butler of Butlerville, age 61 years. Left with fond and loving memories are husband: William 'Bill'; daughters: Darlene (Tom); son: William (Tracy); grandchildren: Amelia, Chris, Alex and blessed grandchild due in November; great grandson, Aaron and a large and loving family that included three sister: Alice (Gordon), Jackie (Edward), Doris (Gilbert) and two brothers: Billy (Tina) and Albert (Bessie); three sister-in-laws: Annie (Greg), Rosalind (Dennis), Jessie (Patrick) and four brother-in-laws: Ernest (Phyllis), Wilfred (Doreen), Howard (Susan) and Gordon (Dale); and a large circle of family and friends. Rev. Howard Crane and Rev. Bill Strong conducted the funeral service at St. Mark's Church, Shearstown on Tuesday, October 6, 2009. Interment was held at St. Mark's Church Cemetery, Shearstown. Pallbearers were Gilbert Phillips, Raymond Phillips, Wilfred Butler, Gordon Butler, Edward Snow and Harry Richards.

DAVIS, Yvonne G. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, October 29, 2009, Yvonne G. Davis of Carbonear, age 67 years. Predeceased by parents: Cecil and Annie Oates; baby sister: Dianne; brother: Russell and step-mother: Maude. Leaving to mourn her devoted husband, best friend and soul mate of 46 years, Elmer; children: Brent (Cynthia), Carbonear, Denise (Ian Crawley), Rome, Georgia, USA and Jamie (Alanna), Toronto, ON; grandchildren: Chelsea and Kaylee Davis; Cody, Amber and Bethany Crawley; sister: Carol (Robert) Simms, St. Anthony; brother: John 'Jack' (Karen) Oates, St. John's; step-sister: Jennie (David) Sheppard, Spaniard's Bay; step-brother: Raymond (Lillian) Chipman, Spaniard's Bay; sisters-in-law: Elaine Oates, Carbonear, Mabel (Kurt) Peyer, Barrie, ON; brothers-in-law: Orville Hayter, Sudbury, ON, Hudson Davis, Richmond Hill, ON, Bruce (June) Davis, Etobicoke, ON and Bert (Heidi) Davis, Portugal Cove-St. Philips; special aunt: Ruby Russell, Halifax, NS; nieces: Deanna, Gena, Sarah, Mackenzie and Mikaela; nephew: Conrad; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rev. T. Wayne Blackwood conducted the funeral service on Monday, November 2 at Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Inurnment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. DWYER, Kevin - Passed away peacefully at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Kevin Dwyer, age 74, born and raised in Carbonear. Predeceased by parents: John and Rosanna; brother: Jim; sisters: Liza, Catherine, Nellie, Kathleen and Susan. Leaving to mourn; his children: Cathy and Chrissy (Halifax), Patti (Montreal), and Stephen (Toronto); grandchildren: Shawna, Shane, Justin, Christopher, Brandon, Kody, Johnathan and Joshua; great granddaughter Aniya; two brothers: Bill and John; Sisters: Mary, Gen, Eve and Margaret Rose; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay, Funeral Mass took place on Saturday, October 17 from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay followed with interment at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carbonear.

FILLIER, Mr. William - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, October 16, 2009, Mr. William Fillier, aged 91 years, of North River. Predeceased by his parents: John and Jessie (nee Mugford) Fillier; sisters: Elsie (Joseph) Butler, Alma (Clarence) Head; brothers: Stanley Fillier, and Robert Fillier: brother-in-Iaw: Leo Hanlon; sister-in-law: Florence Fillier. Leaving to mourn 3 sisters: Jessie (John) Cambell, Dorothy Hanlon, Annie (George - deceased October 18, 2009) Warren; 1 brother: Samuei; sister-in-law: carrie Fillier; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverned Amanda Taylor conducted the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. from St. George's Anglican Church, North River on Monday, October 19,2009. Interment was at St. George's Anglican Cemetery, North River. Pallbearers were: Ignatius Hanlon, Pius Hanlon, Leo Hanlan, Jim Jones, John Cambell and Melvin Noseworthy. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Moore's Funeral Home, Clarke's Beach.

GLADDEN, Gloria Raine - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, Gloria Raine Gladden of Carbonear, age 80 years. Predeceased by husband: Maurice; parents: Norman and Agnes Atkinson. Left to mourn, three sons: Clifford (Liliana), Vancouver, BC, Donald (Marlene), Toronto, ON and Russell, Ottawa, ON; four grandchildren: Chiara, Sandro, Michael and Tracey; one brother: Gordon (Gladys) Atkinson and family, Feilding, New Zealand; one sister: Penelope (Richard) Rencken and family, KwaZulu, South Africa; sister-in-law: Audrey Edith (George) Tucker and family, Fort Erie, ON; dear relatives and friends in U.K. Fr. Lynch, Gordon Lesley - Passed away peacefully Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the Interfaith Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family: Gordon Lesley Lynch, age: 80 years. Predeceased by his father: Archibald Lynch; mother: Eliza Jane Lynch. Left with fond and loving memories his wife: Olive Lynch of 46 years. Sons: Rodney Lynch (Alice Snow), Archie (Terry) Lynch (Georgina Roberts); daughter: Louise Coombs (Wade); brother: Lewel Lynch (Gertrude); sisters: Phoebe Lynch, Hazel Mercer (James), Evelyn Mercer (Moses); Jessie Singleton (William); 4 grandchildren: Nicole Stone; Jonathan Coombs; Brittany Roberts; Tyler Snow; one great grandchild: Rachel Snow and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Hussey's Funeral Home in Upper Island Cove. Funeral service took place on October 25, 2009 at St. Peter's Anglican Church following with interment at St. Peter's Anglican Cemetery, Upper Island Cove. Noseworthy, Pearl Sharon - Passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Carbonear General Hospital, Pearl Sharon Noseworthy of Spaniard's Bay, age 49 years. Predeceased by father: Richard George Noseworthy. Left with fond and loving memories her life partner of 14 years, Kirby Wilcox; mother: Eileen Noseworthy; son: Bradley Wilcox, Spaniard's Bay; daughter-in-law: Colleen, Upper Island Cove; brothers: Mark Noseworthy, Spaniard's Bay; Lewis Noseworthy, Gander; brother-in-law: Blair Pike, Harbour Grace; sister's: Sharon Pike, Harbour Grace; Karen Noseworthy, Spaniard's Bay; sisters-in-law: Linda Noseworthy, Bay Roberts; Patricia Noseworthy, Spaniard's Bay; 2 grandchildren: Brayden Wilcox and Alley Wilcox and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Young's Funeral Home in Spaniard's Bay. The funeral took place on October 28 at Holy Redeemer Church with inurnment to follow. In her memory flowers are not accepted but donations may be made to the Noseworthy family.

O'Donnell, Maud Emily
March 24, 1924 - October 3, 2009

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the death of Maud O'Donnell, at the age of 85 years on Saturday, October 3 at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, England. She leaves to mourn her children: John O'Donnell of England, Patricia Martin (Mac) of Harbour Grace, Newfoundland and Labrador and her grandchildren, Andrew O'Donnell (Woog-yung), Sally Ellershaw (Stephen), Kerry (Martin Pike) and Melissa Colbourne (Brian). We are bless and relieved that her grandchildren spent some valuable time with her both at home in the UK and here in Canada. Great grandchildren include Samuel and Thomas Ellershaw of England and Anna Pike and Ava Colbourne of Newfoundland and Labrador. Also leaving to mourn are her sisters Renee Barrow and Ellen Patterson and brother Alf Normington and families of England. Families far and near will gather for her funeral which will be held in Lytham, St. Anne's, England on October 14, 2009. Maud will be missed by her wide circle of neighbors, friends and family. We are left with light hearted memories and laughter as Maud had a very dry sense of humor and a lust for living in the moment. Her fortitude for life was inspirational. SWAIN, Dorothy Alice- Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear on Thursday, October 29, 2009, Dorothy A. Swain of Carbonear, age 87 years. Predeceased husband William Edmund; sister: Rella; brother: Clyde; niece: Inez Moores; nephews: Graham Butt and Allan Budden. Predeceased by her parents: John Samuel and Elizabeth Ann Jenkins; husband: George D. Warford; sisters: Ethel Winters, Marjorie Penney and Beulah Moores; special brother: Hedley Jenkins. Leaving to mourn: sister: Mary Messer, residing in California, also many nieces, nephews and other relative and friends. Reverend Joan Conrad conducted the funeral service, assisted by Reverend Dean Sellars, Reverend Amanda Taylor and Pastor Edwin White on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 2 p.m. from Grace United Church, Coley's Point. Interment was at St. Luke's Anglican Cemetery, Port de Grave. Pallbearers were: Geoff Penny, George Andrews, Glen Moores, Morris Baker, Jarrad Moores and Paul Basha. Predeceased by husband: Thomas; parents: Mary and Daniel Neil; daughter-in-law: Beverly Yetman; sisters: Mable, Annie and Violet; brothers: William and Jim. Leaving to mourn: two daughters: Donna (Gerard) Connors, Harbour Grace and Judy (Warrick) Stone, Bryant's Cove; one son: Terry, Harbour Grace; four grandchildren: Vicki (Clyde), Donna, Gerard (Nicole) and Jessica (Kirt); three great-grandchildren: Jacqueline, Gerard III and Emma; one brother: Daniel (Theresa) Neil, Harbour Grace; one sister: Gert Carpenter; Harbour Grace; brother-in-law: Jim ((Bana) Yetman, Buchans; sister-in-law: Bessie Ludlow; Grand Falls-Windsor; a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Paul's Anglican Church and Cemetery, Harbour Grace.
