BUTT, Henry C. - Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, 0ctober 4, 2007, Henry C. Butt of Carbonear, age 94 years. Predeceased by brothers: Martin, James, Gerald and John; sisters: Betty, Blanche and Stella; daughter-in-law: Lorna. Left to mourn wife: Sophie; one daughter: Marilyn Butt, Paradise; two sons: Herb (Sue) and Vince (Iris), both of Carbonear; nine grandchildren: Laura (Patrick), Jan, Karla (Mike), Kristen (Andrew ), Kirk (Jolynn), Trent (Andrea), Trevor, Lynn (Trevor) and David (Melissa); eight great-grandchildren: Madison, Kai, Kieren, Logan, Mason, Brooke, Claire and Nolan; one sister: Melvena Pye, Bareneed; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rev. Stephen Matthews conducted the funeral service on Sunday, October 7 at Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment took place at the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. EARLE, Mildred C. - Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family after a short illness at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, October 6, 2007, Mildred C. Earle of Carbonear, age 79 years. Predeceased by husband Thomas H. in 2003, infant son: Craig, son-in-law: David Squires and parents: Eugene and Hazel Marshall. Left to mourn five daughters: Paula Squires, Cynthia (Kenneth) Noel and Cheryl (Frank) Pike, all of Carbonear, Carol (John) Button, Paradise and June (Bill) Atkins, Cambridge, ON; three sons: Curtis (Paula), Kilbride, Kevin (Margaret) and Greg (Elizabeth), both of Carbonear; eleven grandchildren: Deanne, David (Helen), Jennifer, Nicholas, Neil (Jamie), Billy (Amy), Stephen, Laura, Allisonne (Rod), Justin and Sara; eight great-grandchildren: Robyn, Alex, Jillian, Jenna, Arielle, Owen, Caila and Liam; three sisters: Francis Snow and Donna (Fred) Hiscock, both of Freshwater, Carbonear and Jean Tanasychuk, Carbonear; one brother: Wayne (Ella) Marshall, Carbonear; five sisters-in-law: Mary (George) Saunders, St. John's, Nina Garland, Harbour Grace, Jessie Earle, Carbonear, Mavis Earle, St. John's and Ruby Earle, ON; brother-in-law: Walter (Francis) Earle, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends.Archdeacon Iliffe Sheppard conducted the funeral service on Tuesday, October 9 at St. James Anglican Church and Cemetery, Carbonear. FITZGERALD, Florence M. - Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Saturday, October 6, 2007, Florence M. Fitzgerald of Harbour Grace, age 86 years. Predeceased by husband: Raymond, 1982 and brothers: William and Lloyd. Left to mourn two daughters: Karen (Arch) Barrett, Spaniard's Bay and Carol Ann Fitzgerald (Berkley Bursey), Harbour Grace; two sons: Raymond (Mildred), Carbonear and Wayne (Susan), Harbour Grace; five grandchildren: Michelle (Raymond), Jonathon, Adam, Vicki and Paul (Kristen); one great-granddaughter: Olivia; sister-in-law: Shirley Jones, ON; also a large number of other relatives and friends. GALWAY, Mr. Leo Joseph - Of Carbonear passed away peacefully at the Health Science Complex, St. John's, October 22, 2007, in his 67th year. Predeceased by mother: Mary Anne Galway; infant son: Hayward; mother and father-in-law: William and Suzanna Collins; brother-in-law: Ern Vokey; stepbrother: Bill Fitzgerald; mother and father-in-law: Patrick and Frances Slade. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife: Bride; children: Sharon Galway (Scott), Greg Galway (Darlene), Tony Galway; Lynette Penney (Ray) and Molly Galway; Daphne Reynolds (Dale), Sharon Squibb (Gerald), John Squibb (Angela), Derrick Squibb (Gloria) and Dwayne Squibb (Jenny); 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; exwife Linda; sisters: Gladys Vokey, Elsie Whelan (Walter); and a large number of stepbrothers and stepsisters as well as other relatives and friends. The Funeral Mass took place St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, 0ctober 25, with interment at The Interfaith Cemetery. As expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Dialysis Unit of the Carbonear General Hospital. Funeral services have been entrusted to Slade'sHome, Carbonear.

HARRIS, Chesley H. - Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex, St. John's on Monday; October 8, 2007, Chesley H. Harris of Carbonear, age 89 years. After 36 years working with Asarco in Buchans, "Safety Ches" retired in Carbonear (1982). Predeceased by parents: John and Mary Ellen, sisters: Mildred, Lillian, Beatrice and Ethel, brother: John. Left. to mourn wife: E. Frances; three sons: James (Ethel), Carbonear, Chesley; Glenwood and William (Erika), Dartmouth, NS; three daughters: Mary (Edward) Pridham, St. John's, Audrey (Maurice) Mullins, Clarenville and Ethel (Wayne) Smith, Dartmouth, NS; eleven grandchildren: Jimmy Harris (Robyn), Nadine Pridham (Danny), Natasha Pridham (Robert), Dana Beaton (Sandy), Becky Barbour (Gordon), Craig Mullins, Patrick Harris, Shannon Harris, David Smith, Billy Smith and James Smith; one great-granddaughter: Nora Barbour; one brother: Wilbert (Mary) Harris, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, October 8 from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.

POWERS, William S. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, William S. Powers of Salmon Cove, age 102 years. Predeceased by wife: Annie Mae; sisters: Susie Marie Bennett and Mae Marshall; brothers: Frazer and James. Left to mourn, brother: Chesley, St. John's; three sisters: Florence Baggs, Carbonear, Myrtle (Dr. George) Kennedy; St. John's and Dorothy Skinner, Worchester, Massachusetts, USA; brother-in-law: Ross Bennett, St.John's; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. SEGUIN, Mabel Louise (nee Milley) - At the age of 67, Saturday, October 6, 2007 in her home province of Newfoundland, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother. Predeceased by her late husband of 41 years Gilbert Seguin; her parents: Salina (Pearl) and Joshua Milley, her brothers John, Merl, Albert, Melvin and sisters: Bernice and Vida. She is survived by her loving daughter Lorraine, her son Richard and his wife Cindy and grandchildren Crystal, Rebecca and Roberta, her son Wayne, and her son David and his wife Marie and grandchildren Daxton, Stephanie and Danielle. She leaves behind her sister Lillian Reynolds and brother Joshua Milley. A special thank you to the ICU Nursing staff and Doctors at the Carbonear General Hospital. She leaves many friends and family who fondly remember her and will greatly miss her. You will always be forever in our hearts. Burial service will be announced at a later date in Elliot Lake.

SELLARS, Derek Fraser - Passed suddenly away on Thursday, October, 25, 2007, Derek Fraser Sellars of Manuels; formerly of Small Point, age 54 years. Predeceased by parents: Clarence Fraser and Jessie Audrey. Left to mourn: two daughters: Angie (Jim) Green, Carbonear and Christine Whelan, Manuels; two sons: Rodney (Michelle), Manuels and Randy (Shyanne), Mount Pearl; one granddaughter: Rhiannon Sellars; two brothers: Wade (Ann) and Craig, both of Alberta; three sisters: Valerie (Rod) Westenbroroek, Florida, Debbie (Ross) Penney, Small Point and Betty (Peter) Layman, Ochre Pit Cove; special friend: Claudette Whelan, Manuels; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rev. Roscoe Cole conducted the funeral service on Tuesday, October 30 at the Ocean View United Church and Cemetery, Broad Cove.
