BARRETT, Leonard Wm. “Bill” - Passed Peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Saturday, October 28, 2006, Leonard Wm. “Bill” Barrett of Carbonear, age 78 years. Pre-deceased by parents: Emma and John; daughter-in-law: Judy; grandson: Richard William Barrett; brothers: John and Ralph; sisters: Alice and Joyce. Left to mourn, wife: Helen; two sons: Roderick (Veronica) and Richard, both of Carbonear; one daughter: Corrine (Derek) Yetman, Coley's Point; five grandchildren: Laura (Cephas), Roderick B. Jr. (Michelle), Tina (James), Tammy and Melissa; five great-grandchildren: Austin, Cassandra, Kendra, Denicka and Brandon; two brothers: David (Brenda), Ontario and Lloyd (Joyce), Carbonear; two sisters: Dorthey Ranson, Ontario and Shirley Barrett, Texas; sister-in-law: Kay Barrett, Ontario; also a large number of other relatives and friends. A special thank you to the staff at ICU, St. Clare's Mercy Hospital. Rev. Stephen Matthews conducted the funeral service on Wednesday, November 1 at Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment took place in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. CHIPMAN, Mr. Bernard E. - Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on October 7, 2006, Bernard E. Chipman, aged 77 years, of Bay Roberts. Predeceased by parents: William and Fannie Chipman; wife Leah; daughter: Muriel (deceased in infancy); brothers: Ivan and Maxwell; brother-in-law: Jim French. Leaving to mourn: one son Bernard Jr.; three daughters: Mary (Rex) Butler, Denise (John) Samms, Frances Chipman (Bill Noseworthy); one sister Doris French; eight grand-children: Melanie, Tammy, Kimberly, Michelle, Stephanie, Bradley, Amber, Brandie; six great-grandchildren: Emilee, Joshua, Tyler, Cole, Lukas, Marissa; sisters-in-law: Gertie and Emily Chipman. Reverend S. Mark Janes conducted the funeral service at St. Matthew's Anglican Church and Cemetery, Bay Roberts on Tuesday, October 10, 2006. COLE, Gertrude - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, October 4, 2006, Gertrude Cole of Victoria, age 86 years. Predeceased by father: Jabez King and mother: Hannah J. King Reid; step-father: John T. Reid; infant son: James; infant daughter: Louise and son: Harold W. SKINNER, Gerald - Of Bay Roberts passed away peacefully at Carbonear Hospital on Sunday, October 8, Gerald Skinner, aged 80 years. Predeceased by parents: John and Ethel Skinner; grandson Jeff Mitchell; son-in-law Alister Stout; sisters: Mabel (Ron) White, Pearl (Steve) Karaki, Ruby (Sam) Driskill, (Beryl deceased in infancy), sister-in-law Rowena Skinner. Leaving to mourn wife Jean; four sons: John (Roz),Jerry (Sophie), Wayne (Rhonda), Philip (Michelle); three daughters: Pamela (Stout) Ron, Cynthia (Skinner) Edgar, Rhonda (Parsons) Derick; five grandchildren: Ryan and Aaron Parsons, Michelle, Matthew and Tamara Skinner; brother George; sister Merlie (Pat) Morrissey; also a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts. Funeral Service was held Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at 2 p.m. from St. John the Evangelist Church and Cemetery, Coley's Point. STATTERS, Helen Julia - Born in Carbonear, Newfoundland. Helen passed away at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, Saturday, October 21, 2006 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Statters. She is survived by a nephew, Roger Lounsbury and his wife Christina of Deep River, Ontario and their children Wara and Lucas. Also survived by many cousins in the United States. Predeceased by her sisters, Jean Ash and Ruby Lounsbury and a brother, Reginald Ash. According to Helen's wishes, cremation had taken place. There was no funeral service and interment was in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. In living memory of Helen, a tree will be planted by the funeral home through the Trees for Learning Program.

WELLS, Mr. (Joe) Morris - Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, October 28, 2006. Mr. (Joe) Morris Wells aged 61 years. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Jeanette of 38 years; two daughters: Donna (Wayne) Barrett, Bishop's Cove, NL, Kelly (Dennis) Barrett, Greenwood, NS; three grandchildren: Lucas, Chelsea Lynn and Justin; four sisters: Gloria (Ed) Evans, Botwood, NL, Linda Penton, Saskatoon, Sask., Wanda (Ralph) Hawe, Brampton, ON, June (Bob) Hawe, Brampton, ON; two brothers: Paul (Rona) Wells, Midland, ON, Robert (Christine) Wells, Spaniard's Bay; NL. Rested at Young's Funeral Home, Spaniard's Bay; Funeral service took place Wednesday; November 1, 2006 at Holy Redeemer Anglican Church, Spaniard's Bay. Flowers were accepted. Donations may be made in his memory to the family fund.
