Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear Long Term Care Facility on Monday, November 21, 2016, Pleman Clarke of Victoria, age 91 years. Predeceased by wife: Violet; daughters: Gladys, Ella, and infant daughter; son: Bridle; parents: Augustus and Laura; sons-in-law: Don Barker and Gordon Reese; seven brothers and six sisters. Left to mourn, seven daughters and two sons: Joyce (Ellis) Antle, Victoria, Margaret (Fred) Martin, Victoria, Louella Barker, Edmonton, AB, Rosalind Reese, Toronto, ON, Peggy (Roger Bennett), Edmonton, AB, Judy (Tony) Clarke, Victoria, Randell Clarke (Michelle), Victoria, Pamela (Roger) Durnford, Grand Prairie, AB, and Benjamin (Kathy) Clarke, Red Water, AB; twenty-four grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Don (Gladys) Clarke, St. John's and Bert Clarke (Olga), Long Pond, Manuels; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Rev. Karen Thorne conducted the Funeral service on Thursday, November 24 at the United Church and Cemetery, Victoria. Predeceased by first wife: Myrtle; parents: Edward and Lily; grandson: Steven Pike; brothers: Albert, Raymond, Wilfred, Percival, Ivan, Maxwell, and Llewelyn; sisters-in-law: Cynthia and Florence. Left to mourn, wife: Ida; four daughters: Mary (David) Butt, Salmon Cove, Arlene (Wayne) Slade, Carbonear, Carla Clarke (Derrick Noseworthy), Bristol's Hope, and Pamela (Rodney) Branton, Halifax, NS; five grandchildren: Ceanne, Courtney, Charlene, Jared, and Adam; five great-grandchildren: Brandon, Emily, Caden, Kacey, and Parker; four brothers: Leslie (Lorraine), Junior (Barbara), Bruce (Arlene), and Lloyd (Lois); three sisters: Jessie Clarke, Erma (Clifford) Penney, and Sophie Wheeler; sister-in-law: Florence; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Pastor Darren Norman conducted the Funeral Service on Monday, November 21 at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Victoria. Predeceased by parents: Iver and Gertrude Iversen; brother-in-law: Franz Reiss. Left to mourn, husband: Siegfried; one son: Jens (Elva), St. John's; two grandchildren: Katarina and Jared; two sisters: Gertrude 'Petra' Reiss and Lorraine (Roy) Janes, both of Carbonear; also a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents: Norman and Molly Davis; sister: Mary; brothers: Russell, Jack, and Gordon. Left to mourn, her husband of 68 years: Bren; five daughters: Patricia (Allan) Pilgrim, Alberta, Phyllis (Joe) Hunt, Harbour Grace, Helen (Sylvain) Methot, Nova Scotia, Brenda (Lloyd) Reid, and Linda Laing (Bruce), both of Harbour Grace; twelve grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace. Fr. Emmanuel Osuagwu conducted the Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 9 at Noel's Funeral Home, Harbour Grace.
