BURDEN, Zena - Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, Zena Burden of Broad Cove, age 85 years. Predeceased by husband: Charles; daughter: Margaret Walbourne; parents: Mark and Margaret Parsons; two brothers: Edward and Wilfred. Left to mourn, two sons: Wilfred (Rosalind) Burden, Broad Cove and Lemont Burden (Jodie Giardino), Sudbury, ON; son-in-law: William Walbourne, St. John's; two granddaughters: Beverly (Walter) and Jennifer; five grandsons: Marcel (Tina), Dwayne (Valerie), Ricky (Julie), Charles and Justin; six great-grandchildren: Richard (Katia), Tyrel, Coady, Chase, Taylor and Zachary; one great-great-grandson: Isaac; five brothers: Clarence (Ramona) Parsons, CBS, Mark (Carrie) Parsons and Chesley (Vera) Parsons, both of Corner Brook, Roland (Charlotte), Pasadena and Bernard (Thomasine) Parsons, Lark Harbour; two sisters: Kathleen Parsons, Australia and Beryl (Geoffrey) Hurst, England; sisters-in-law: Mary Parsons, Gander, Myrtle Burden, Carbonear, Ruth Burden and Leona Huggett, both of Ontario; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Rev. Roscoe Cole conducted the funeral service on Friday, November 26 at Ocean View United Church, Broad Cove. Interment took place in the United Cemetery, Broad Cove. Donations in her memory may be made to Ocean View United Church or to the North Shore Central Ambulance Fund. EDWARDS, Carroll Michael - After a long and courageous battle with cancer Carroll died peacefully at the A.A.W Health Centre in Old Perlican on Monday, November 5, 2010 at the age of 68 years. He was predeceased by his parents Francis and Alice, his brother Neil and nephew Britt. Leaving to mourn his partner of 21 years Adele Fulford; daughter: Laura (Alexandre); son: Darrell; stepsons: Erik (Jessica), Shawn (Tash); step-daughter: Donna (Donals) and was the proud grandpa of Alexalee and Ava and Poppy Carroll to Erin and Evan. Carroll will be lovingly remembered by his 14 brothers and sisters. He will also be sadly missed by his many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held at Hopkins Funeral Home, Old Perlican on Thursday, November 18, 2010. Funeral Mass took place on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in his hometown of St. Lawrence. Interment at Mount Cecilia Cemetery, St. Lawrence.

LAYMAN, Catherine - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, November 25, 2010, Catherine Layman of Northern Bay, age 96 years. Predeceased by husband: Patrick; son: Will Joe; daughters: Loretta, Genevieve and Tekakwitha; parents: John and Mary Hannan; sisters: Nell, Veronica, Elizabeth, and Margaret; brothers: Edward, William and Jack. Left to mourn, seven daughters: Mary King, Montreal, PQ, Irene Howard, St. John's, Leone (Bill) Languay, Hamilton, ON, Pauline (Michael) Codere, Montreal, PQ, Geraldine (Harrison) Smith, Bishop's Cove, Marion (Allan) Lilleoks, Scarborough, ON and Monica (George) Knight, Victoria Harbour, ON; four sons: Morgan (Mary), Saint John, NB, Eugene, Scarborough, ON, Jerome, Calgary, AB and Perry, Brampton, ON; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law: Mona Layman, Alberta; one brother: Ted Hannan, Old Perlican; sister-in-law: Anastasia Hannan, Low Point; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Fr. Pio Sumbilon conducted the funeral Mass on Monday, November 29 at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. PILGRIM, Myrtle V. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, November 14, 2010, Myrtle V. Pilgrim of Carbonear, age 81 years. Predeceased by husband: Edward; infant son: George; parents: Henry Thomas and Alice Clarke; brothers: Clarence (Beatrice) and Alfred; sister: Iva (Douglas). Left to mourn, one daughter: Karen Milley (Marston), Carbonear; one son: Calvin (Cavell), Bay Roberts; three grandchildren: Kurt (Amy), Vickie (Tim) and Bruce (Kelly); one great-grandchild: Jaden; brother: Edward (Dolly) Clarke, Carbonear; sisters-in-law: Maisie Clarke, Carbonear, Nina Nelson, Florida, USA, Doreen (Norman) Parsons, Gander, Dorothy Clarke, Kaye O'Flaherty and Frances Pilgrim (Janet) all off Ontario and Marie (Ken) Tiley, Carbonear; brother-in-law: Bonnell (Alma) Pilgrim, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. REID, John - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, November 4, 2010, John W. Reid of Riverhead, Harbour Grace in his 65th year. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Donna of 25 years; daughters Donna (Barry), Christine (Ed) and Kelly (Scott); sons Ron (Wanda), Dennis (Amanda), Danny, John (Paula); ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers Joe (Sylvia), Lloyd (Brenda) and Aubrey (Loretta); sisters Linda (Vic), Mary (Alton), Viola (Arch) and a large number of other relatives and friends. TIBBO, Bernice Parsons (nee Young) - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, November 19, 2010, Bernice Parsons Tibbo (nee Young) of Salmon Cove, age 86 years. Predeceased by 1st husband: Jeffrey Parsons; 2nd husband: Harold Tibbo; daughter: Hilda; son: Bill; granddaughter: Tia; six brothers and one sister. Left to mourn, one daughter: Shirley (John) Butt, Salmon Cove, step-daughters: Doris (Clem) Kelly and Joann Tibbo (Richard), both of ON; four sons: Harold (Betty) Parsons, Frenchman's Cove, John (Elsie) Parsons and Ricky (Debbie) Parsons, both of Labrador City and Harold Jr. Tibbo (Sherry), St. John's; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one brother: Donald (Linda) Young, Twillingate; one sister: Pansy (Rev.
