ANTHONY, Mrs. Edith - Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, May 24, 2006, Edith Anthony, aged 90 years, of Clarke's Beach (formerly of North River). Predeceased by husband: Albert Maxwell; son: Carl; brother: James; sisters: Lillian (Phil) Grouchy, Rose (Jack) Snow, Marcella (Harold) Puddister. Leaving to mourn 6 sons: Winston (Elizabeth), Nath (Patricia), Lloyd (Linda), Pastor Jim (Lillian), Cyril (Judy) and Paul (Glenys); 2 daughters: Norma (Herman) Norris and Ruby (David) Noel; 21 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Pastor Barry Hutchings conducted the funeral service at Pentecostal Tabernacle, Clarke's Beach on Saturday, May 27, 2006. Interment was at Pentecostal Cemetery, Clarke's Beach. Funeral arrangements were by Moore's Funeral Home, Clarke's Beach. Pallbearers were Winston Anthony, Lloyd Anthony; Cyril Anthony; Nath Anthony; Jim Anthony and David Anthony.

CUZA,RobertJ.Jr. "Bobby" - Passed away in Alberta on Thursday; May 18, 2006, Robert J. "Bobby" Cuza Jr. of Strathmore, AB formerly of Harbour Grace and St. Lawrence, age 41 years. Left to mourn, wife: Mary Lynn; daughters: Monica and Krista; sons: Kyle and Shane; step children: Nicole and Andrew; parents: Robert Sr. and Mary Jane; brother: Jean-Luc (Susan); seven sisters: Chantelle (George), Mauricette (Peter), Debbie, Jackie (Martin), Denise (Karl), Maxine (Reg) and Tracey (Darryl). Also a large number of other relatives and friends. Fr. F.J.Aylward conducted the funeral service on Tuesday; May 23 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Harbour Grace. HUDSON, Ida B. - Passed peacefully away at the Pentecostal Senior Citizens Home, Clarke's Beach on Sunday, May 14, 2006, Ida B. Hudson of Adam's Cove, age 93 years. Predeceased by husband: Herbert 1988; four brothers and five sisters. Left to mourn: one son: Murray (Pam), Adam's Cove; three grandchildren: Karl (Charmaine) Hudson, Victoria, Arlene (Richard) Parsons, Ochre Pit Cove and Denise (Brian) Reynolds, Small Point; eight great-grandchildren: Courtney, Steven, Kirsten, Andrew, Kyle, Allison, Amy and Alyssa; a number of nieces, nephews in Canada and USA as well as other relatives and friends. Rev. Roscoe Cole conducted the funeral service on Tuesday, May 16 at the United Church and Cemetery, Blackhead. Donations in her memory may be made to the Adam's Cove Community Hall. Hunt, Elizabeth "Liz" - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Center, St. John's on Monday, May 22, 2006, EIizabeth "Liz" Hunt of Riverhead, Harbour Grace, age 75 years. Predeceased by parents: Joseph and Margaret; brother: Mike. Left to mourn husband Mose, of 54 years; four daughters: Mary (Kevin) Verge, Harbour Grace, Carol Hunt, Riverhead, Harbour Grace, Debbie (Pat) George, Labrador City and Betty (Max) Sheppard, Riverhead, Harbour Grace; two sons: Junior (Lorraine), Riverhead, Harbour Grace and Jim (Jackie), Upper Island Cove; ten grandchildren: Darrell, Janice, Steven, Brian, Terri , Adam, Ashley; Chad, Mitchell and Daniel; brother: Tom (Annie) McCarthy; Harbour Grace; sister: Mary Hennessey (Robin Short), St. John's; sisters-in-law: Mary McCarthy; Harbour Grace, Marguerite MacGregor, ON, Mary Whalen, Riverhead, Harbour Grace and Alice Jackman, Harbour Lodge, Carbonear; special niece and best friend: Patricia Fahey; Riverhead, Harbour Grace; and also a large number of other relatives and friends. MERCER, Thomas Patrick - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, after a short illness, on Thursday, May 4, 2006, Thomas Patrick Mercer of River Head, Conception Bay, NL in his 71st year. Predeceased by parents: John and Nora Mercer; son Thomas. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Rose of 48 years; daughters: Sherrie (nee Mercer) (Granville), Tilton, Michelle (nee Mercer) Smith (Gary) of Bishop's Cove; sons: Anthony Mercer (Carol), Gary Mercer (Wanda), Charlie Mercer (Floss), Gregory Mercer (Donna), Robert Mercer (Elaine), Evan Mercer all of Tilton; brothers; Linus Mercer (Von), Tilton, Gerald Mercer (Gertrude), Carbonear; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and also leaving to mourn a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Young's Funeral Home, Spaniard's Bay, Funeral services took place on Saturday, May 6 from St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Spaniard's Bay: Flowers were gratefully accepted. MORGAN, Marian - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, May 5, 2006, Marian Morgan, aged 73 years, of Port de Grave. Predeceased by her parents: Esau and Elizabeth Morgan; husband Ralph Morgan; brother-in-law Victor (Susie) Morgan; sisters-in-law; Evelyn (Alfred) Farrell, Nellie (Bill) Porter, Blanche (Doug) Steward; brother-in-law's wife Greta Morgan; sister-in-law's husband Norman Petten. Leaving to mourn, sister-in-law Maggie Petten and brother-in-law Bill (Greta - dec.) Morgan. Also nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Reverend Canon Harold Brown conducted the funeral services at St. Luke's Anglican Church and Cemetery, Port de Grave on Monday, May 8. Pallbearers were: Robert Porter, Norman Lear, Stephen Hussey; John Morgan, Willis Andrews and Thomas Porter. Funeral arrangements were by Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts.

PENNEY, Edward H. 'Brud' - Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family and after a brief illness with cancer at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, May 6, 2006, Edward H. 'Brud' Penney of Harbour Grace, age 59 years. Pre-deceased by parents: Harold and Phyllis; infant sister Jane and parents-in-law: William and Amelia Peckham. Left to mourn his loving and devoted wife Rosalie; two daughters: Paula (Dean Maher), Edmonton, AB and Goldie (Robert) Reynolds, Mount Pearl; one brother Alexander (Martha) Penney, Wabush; two sisters: Ruby Penney and Thelma Penney both of Harbour Grace; brothers-in-law: Gordon (Rose) Peckham, Salmon Cove, Albert (Barbara) Peckham, Mount Pearl and Roy (Ruth) Peckham, St. John's; nieces and nephews: Joanne (Murray), Jason (Nadine), Nancy (Gord), Nanette (Joe), David (Brenda), Dawn (Bruce), Andrew (Sharon) and Danny (Keara); great-nephews and great-nieces: Jordan and Joshua, Dante and Cohen, Zara and Adam; a number of aunt, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. PENNEY, Eric William - Born October 1, 1930, Eric died unexpectedly on May 3, 2006. He is survived by his loving supportive wife of 48 years Esther Lillian. He will be remembered by his son Bill (Joan), St. Catharines, daughter Barbara Jean (Bill) Campisano, Niagara Falls, daughter Carole Margaret (Stewart) Devlin, Cochrane, Alberta. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Helen (Eric) Churchill, NL, Doris, Halifax NS and brothers Harold (Bonnie) NL and Frank (Maureen). Eric was predeceased by his son Eric and daughter Cindy and also by his sister Jean and brother Silas and by his grandson Stewart Devlin Jr. Eric leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Eric was a proud General Motors employee for over 30 years. He also spent his early years working on the lake ships. He served in the Korean War and Merchant Marines. Private family service took place to celebrate Eric's life. Arrangements were in the care of the Morse and Son Chapel of the Morgan Funeral Homes, 905-356- 3550. Fond memories of Eric may be left for the family at
