Mrs. Bertha Jennings
of South River (originally of Bell Island) passed peacefully away, surrounded by her loving family, at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, March 4, 2018. Mrs. Jennings was 75 years old. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her: Husband: Fred Sons: Perry Jennings (Vesna Novacic) & Paul Miller (Debbie Petite). Grandchildren: Jonathan Jennings (Melissa O'Brien), Matthew Miller, Mitchell Miller & Andrew Jennings. Great Grandchildren: Nicholas, Brady, Brooklyn, Jaxon, Leah, Leif & Isla. Brothers: Roy Hedd (Eva) & Robert Hedd (Rhoda). Sister: Sharon Hedd. Brothers-in-law: Robert Jennings & Lewis Jennings. Sisters-in-law: Margaret Whiteway & Olive Percy. And a large circle of nieces, nephews, family & friends. Predeceased By: Parents: William & Millie Hedd. The Funeral Service was held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from Slade's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Coley's Point. The family will be received relatives and friends at SLADE'S FUNERAL HOME, L.T. STICK DRIVE, BAY ROBERTS. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Corps, Bay Roberts. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Slade's Funeral Home, serving Carbonear, Upper Island Cove, Bay Roberts and surrounding areas.

Passed peacefully away at the Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on Saturday, March 31, 2018, Basil E. Martin of Harbour Grace, age 96 years. Predeceased by wife: Mary; sons: Harold and Bob; brother: Thomas (Helen); sister-in-law: Olive Martin. Left to mourn, one daughter: Betty (John) Lynch, St. John's; two sons: Tom (Cheryl), Mississauga, ON and Rev. Don, Harbour Grace; four grandchildren: Sean, Erin, Tiffany (Adam), and Courtney (Ryan); one brother: Alec, Harbour Grace; brother-in-law: Randell (Linda) Drover, Spaniard's Bay; also a large number of other relatives and friends. McCARTHY, Drucilla

Passed peacefully away holding the hands of her "favorite son-in-law" John and eldest granddaughter Kelly at Lion's Manor, Placentia on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, Drucilla McCarthy of Carbonear, age 89 years. Drucilla is the last of the Long Drungers. Predeceased by daughter: Theresa Nicholl; parents: Frederick and Frances McCarthy; brothers: Patrick, William, Thomas, and Frederick. Left to mourn, son-in-law: John Nicholl (Geraldine), Paradise; three grandchildren: Kelly (Shannon), Anthony (Olga), and Wendy (Rick); eight great-grandchildren: Taylor, Brianna, Patrick, Beacan, Edward, Michael, Emily, and Jessica; one sister: Agnes Neville, St. John's; special friends: Patsy Coombs Ennis, Placentia and Alec Nicholl, Kelligrews; also a large number of other relatives and friends. MORROW, William Gilbert , B.A. LL.B. Q.C.

Passed on: March 29th, 2018

Surrounded by his loving wife, sons and family, Bill passed away at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston on March 29, 2018 at the age of 63 having succumbed to mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer. While his wife, Judy, sons, Neil and Aaron, and family have heavy hearts, they are so proud that he never gave up and fought the disease to the very end. Bill, originally from Saint John, NB, was born on December 17, 1954 and is the son of the late William and Elizabeth Morrow. Upon graduation from law school, he moved to St. John's, NL in 1980, was called to the Bar in 1981, and married Judy in 1987. In 1989, Bill and Judy founded the law firm now known as Morrow, Morrow & Crosbie located in Bay Roberts and Carbonear. Bill also devoted time to various community groups, local sporting events and political causes, most notably as Chair of the Avalon Healthcare Institutions Board for 10 years.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, soulmate and law partner, Judy, his sons, Neil and Aaron, brother, Peter Palmer (Holly), sisters, Rizpah Morrow and Mary-Ellen Costello (Michael), mother-in-law, Huldah Neil, Aunt Rizpah Linton, sisters-in-law, Shirley Penney (Henry), Evelyn Dupuis (Reginald), Olive Noseworthy (David) and Marlene Hanlon (Brian), brother-in-law Clyde Hussey (Beverley), close family friend Annie Dawe (Alex), numerous nieces, nephews and other family members, and friends. He will also be fondly remembered by his colleagues and the Morrow, Morrow & Crosbie work family. Bill was predeceased by his parents, William and Elizabeth Morrow, father-in-law, Ralph Neil, Uncle Frank Linton, brother-in-law, Napoleon Dupuis, sister-in-law, Bethena Palmer, and niece, Michele Palmer.
The family would like to thank Dr. Stewart Rorke and the staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre in St. John's, Dr. Raphael Bueno and Dr. Mark Awad of the International Mesothelioma Program and the staffs at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Dr. Jason Efford of the Spaniard's Bay Medical Centre, and Dr. Crispin Russell and the staff at the St. Clare's Mercy Hospital in St. John's.
Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Bay Roberts, NL at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. Arrangements are being made by Moores Funeral Home in Bay Roberts, NL. There will be no visitation; however, Judy, Neil, Aaron and the rest of the family will receive condolences at the back of the church following the Memorial Service. There will be a private burial at a later date. Donations can be made on Bill's behalf to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation or the Trinity Conception Placentia Health Foundation.

Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, C. Florence Parsons of Carbonear, in her 100th year. Predeceased by husband: George W.; great-grandson: Jake Richard; parents: George and Ellen Flight; sisters: Maggie (Tom), Mary (Herb), Lizzy (Herb), Gertie and Goldie. Left to mourn, one son: Maxwell G. (Florence), Carbonear; two granddaughters: Nancy (Bob) McDonald and Georgette (Stephen) Stapleton; two great-granddaughters: Ava and Ella; one sister: Phyllis Smith, Hant's Harbour; brother-in-law: Bob Dubelt, Ontario; also a large number of other relatives and friends.
