Passed away after a long hard battle with mental illness at his residence on Saturday, March 11, Travas Oates of Carbonear, age 41 years. Predeceased by twin brother: Trent; grandparents: Tom and Molly Oates, Ralph and Mildred Pike. Left to mourn, parents: Bill and Clara, Carbonear; two brothers: Trevor and Todd (Charlene), both of Harbour Grace; niece: Ashley; nephew: James; also a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Rev. Wilson Gonese conducted the Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 15 at Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. A private family inurnment to be held at a later date. Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, March 4, 2017, Mary I. Winsor of Harbour Grace, age 85 years. Predeceased by husband: Maxwell; parents: Reginald and Dorothy Smith; brother: Gordon, and son-in-law: Steve Gear. Left to mourn, three daughters: Marilyn Gear, Linda (Tom) Gear, and Dianne (Pat) Palmer, all of Carbonear; three sons: Wayne (Beulah), Harbour Grace, Boyd (Judy), Whitbourne, and David (Glenda), Carbonear; eleven grandchildren: Jenny (Andrew), Suzanne (Troy), Tara (Jan), Angie (David), Danielle (Matthew), Charlene, Justin (Cailey), Ashley, Gary, Jenelle, and Chloe; eight great-grandchildren: Maren, Bridget, Niamh, Aleena, Clara, Nola, Ella, and Annabelle; two brothers: Reginald (Joan) Smith, Bishop's Cove and Thomas (Ruby) Smith, Toronto, ON; three sisters: Gladys Barrett, Spaniard's Bay, Nellie (Maxwell) Barrett, Bishop's Cove, and Betty Coombs, Island Cove; also a large number of other relatives and friends. The family received relatives and friends at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace. Rev. Nancy Mojica-Fisher conducted the funeral service on Wednesday, March 8 at Coughlan United Church, Harbour Grace. Inurnment took place in the United Cemetery, Harbour Grace.
